You should totes carry on with it, bebe (today I learnt that bb in French is "bebe" - how great is that??). Maybe we could do like a Twin Peaks night once a week and watch an episode together in an MFC user room or Google hangout thingy. Fay'll probably be up for it and we can invite members. That way, if you get scared when watching, you'll have online folk to point and laugh comfort you.

I should watch this. Maybe. But... I've only ever seen 2 Lynch films. Dune (which... eh, it was OK. Not like Dune would be EASY to make as 1 movie...) and Mulholland Drive, which I just fucking hated. So... I'm hesitant.

I love that! I was just pondering a re-run, so, yay!!

also, Hannelore, it gets a lot less fuckedup later on, Lynch only directed the first season, and he's the true crazy one. there will be things to laugh at, and slightly less freaky. I promise.

The list crediting the actors became extremely long in the second season. Seemed to go on forever.

Sooo... anyone have any good ideas for a Twin Peaks fetish porn parody? I've been dying to make one in honor of the upcoming new season for my clips4sale site, but everything I've thought of so far is super cheesy or just not feasible. I'm thinking of something Audrey related...

Audrey's actually pretty innocent, so I think you could probably even get away with some really softcore stuff. Slow stripping and a touch of light bondage would do it just fine for me when it comes to Audrey. After all, sweaters and pencil skirts can also be good for fetishes. Audrey in the bank vault, with that cute little outfit and those handcuffs...

Cliffhanger and unresolved peril notwithstanding,

I am super late to this conversation, but I just started watching this last night. Sat down and blew through season one. I accidentally-on-purpose spoiled who the killer is for myself, but since episode four I'm way more interested in the rest of the stuff going on in this tiny little logging town. The episode with The Red Room fucked me up a little though, I will admit. But I went into this knowing how Mr. Lynch does things when given control so I was sort of prepared.

oh! i'm so happy to see this thread!
Twin Peaks is one of my favorite shows, i could probably recite the entire series from so many viewings, I became a bit of a fanatic for a while.

Has anyone watched Fire Walk With Me or read either of the books? I was surprised how in depth these side projects went!

So glad I am not the only one fucked up by this. I didn't watch this programme past the third episode. I can't cope with how those scenes mess with my head.
I really wish I could watch this show as I can appreciate how good it is but i slept with the light on for weeks after  . I googled the plot and scary scenes and an MFC member friend told me about one episode he got to and my brain said "nope Nope NOPE... Can't deal with that!"

A lot of David Lynch's work is big on the mind fuck aspect. Parts of The Elephant Man & Eraserhead were extremely hard to watch for me even though they didn't include gore/violent stuff. The dude is a genius when it comes to making folks squirm and then question why it made them have that reaction.

I think the part of The Red Room that made me the most uncomfortable was actually the way the two people talked. From what I understand they were asked to read the lines backwards & then they played the audio backwards so it's a really weird version of normal English, but somehow disturbing.

I've seen pieces of Fire Walk With Me, and I read Laura Palmer's diary a long, long time ago, before I'd even seen the show (I was working in the basement of a thrift store at the time, and there wasn't much to do but read secondhand books.) I have Fire Walk With Me downloaded, and I've been meaning to watch it, but I really have to be in a very particular mood for Lynch movies, and that mood doesn't tend to come up so often for me these days.

Yes they do the backward talking thing just as you described. There are many youtube videos on how to do it. It's not easy.

For some reason... in the third episode (first red room scene) the part where 'Laura' says something like "but my arms bend back" her body, face and how she acted (which mirrors my friends actions moments before she has an epileptic fit :? ) freaked me out soooo bad. It's not even typically scary but my brain box did not like it one bit. Strangely the small man's talking and dancing didn't bother me.... but 'Laura'.... *shiver* :icon-cry:

I turned on the closed captioning and that seemed to help with the interpretation of the gibberish

How about Sherilyn Fenn in Boxing Helena. "Audrey Horne"
Mädchen Amick has been nude in many movies. "Shelly Johnson"
Also Lara Flynn Boyle "Donna Hayward"

Apparently many of the actresses went on to being nude. These celebrities are approaching 50 years old.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.
