I am trying to add my cammodel link to twitter profile. And twitter won't let me! "url not valid" is all I get. I have tried adding it not only to "web site" slot, but also to the description and nope, same answer every time. So I googled it in a thousand different ways and searched forum but couldn't find any answers--I am gonna go nutso here, somebody HELP ME PLEASE before I really go over the edge....

My link: http://miss_jane_dahl.cammodels.com/
and twitter just says "url not valid". GAAAAA! WHY Why why! It is too valid! Twitter hates me.

My guess would be that it doesn't like the underscores (technically, it really isn't something you're supposed to do in a domain or subdomain). Try entering it as http://miss%5fjane%5fdahl.cammodels.com/ -- though I'm not sure it'll like this any better. My only other suggestion would be to create a shortened URL. Some of them don't accept adult links, but I've used tiny.cc in the past no problem.

:( Yeah, I wasn't really hopeful. %'s aren't allowed in domains or subdomains, either. It's Streamate's fault for turning usernames into invalid URLs, but it'd be nice if Twitter would understand that some developers make mistakes and be a little less strict. A lot of girls have probably had this problem.

Did you try a shortener? The same thing might happen with some, but there's gotta be one out there that will accept it!

Unfortunately yes, I used the tinyurl, which I didn't want to have to use--I just have a feeling not as many people would click on a tinyurl vs a cammodels.com link. But what else can I do? I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out though Miss Lintilla! I feel better now, thanks to you holding my hand through this horrible ordeal...

Whenever I see a tinyurl on a twitter account my first thought is the spammers that use them to steal your account.

How do they use tinyurl to do this?

Because sites like tinyurl hide the actual link, they can lead you to all kinds of harmful sites.
Anyone can make a tinyurl and tell you it's a link to cute pictures... when it's actually a site that will try and install all kinds of malware on your system. Unfortunately, it's hard to know that before clicking.

Ok, well that makes sense...I thought he meant that spammers would be able to steal MY account from clicking the tinyurl for some reason. And yes, this is exactly why I didn't want to have to use the tinyurl for my cammodels link. I know I don't click on tinyurls myself unless I trust that person. I expect them to be garbage usually, maybe I am a bit jaded but yeah.

So that's that huh, no way to link with the underscores, yes? This is the final verdict? Nobody has any tricks up their sleeve?

:(

When I was new to twitter I clicked on the link on a fake followers profile, because I wanted to know where it went to. Somehow this let them get my twitter account, and spam with it. Twitter froze my account after the first fake tweet, and I had to reset my password. I do not know how it worked.
