Welp, it's Halloween season again, which means it's time for my annual tradition of putting 100+ hours into Fallout 4, one of the most Halloween games ever made.
Hell yes! I'm overdue for another playthrough too! I also have never done an origin character yet.I mean, I guess it’s better than doing yet another playthrough of BG3? Although… I’ll probably do another BG3 run before the end of the year and play as an Origin character instead of Tav or Durge.

lolz Everytime I romance Astarion, he just randomly leaves me when I reach Baldur's Gate! I've romanced Gale all the way to the end a few times though... he's a totally nerd and I love that! I was super mean to him though the first time lolAaahh, I somehow missed responding to this! Honestly, the main reason I want to do an origin character run is because that may be the only way I don't romance Astarion. My second playthrough I was like... I just romanced him. I'm going for a resist Durge run. I know I'm not going to ascend him. I've already gone through his spawn romance line. I should probably be with someone else. Was going to go for Gale, but then Astarion was just RIGHT THERE. Felt really bad when I broke it off with my sweet, yappy wizard tho. Lowkey wish I was a PC gamer just so I could have the poly mod and romance ALL OF THEM.
Sorry, I have total BG3 brain rot, haha.

I had to delete like a whole part of this post before I spoiled anything for you lol But yes, I love my wizard too.
ooooo! I never knew about araj! Wow I've done like 5 playthroughs too. New goal for my current playthough thenOmg, really? I feel like I'm an expert at all things Astarion at this point, so I may know why that's happening. Gonna put it in a spoiler in case you don't want the spoilers!
You can spoil away for me! I've done three full playthroughs now, and outside of that I've watched a looooot of content and I look at the different BG3 subreddits frequently!

So if you get spicey with Gale, and you promise him you will never let him use that orb, and then tell him to use the orb when you reach the Netherbrain... his reaction is like soooo sad! He feels sooo betrayed and calls you out for it. Then when he does go up to kill the netherbrain, he does the most Gale thing ever lol. His ghost message at the end in camp is extra sad too if you romanced him. You can steer Gale in multiple different directions too, and one of them involves making him a god. (I could have become a god with him, but I tried to get a threeway with Halsin, and it totally backfired.) Kind of like how I turned Astarion to more of a neutral good in one of my playthroughs once.
Araj is the absolute worst!
I love how detailed this game is and how you can do multiple runs with hundreds of hours sunk into it and still have tons of content that you’ve never experienced.
Have you watched the voice actors play as their characters in dnd on youtube? It will not disappoint!Araj is the absolute worst!

hahaha That is so brutal! lol I only did one really evil run as dark urge, and I was a total murderer. It almost broke my heart though watching everyone's reactions to it lol.... This game is the only game I've really played that can do that to you. haha I love your love for Astarian! Almost every time I go to the patio at the club I frequent, I'm in a circle of people chatting about their favorite BG3 characters and its so awesome!

its a beautiful game, i wanted to like it but the back to back quests were so boring to me even though the combat was so smooth and amazing.Been playing a little in BDO, picked it up last year for a $1 and managed to find a whole 8 hours in a year to put into the game.
I'm not very far into it steam says 15 hours, 4 hours of that was trying to work out how to get my weapon back which apparently I lost when the season ended and a lot of it is just going around exploring so maybe 4-5 hours actually doing quests, but the quests so far are, go here, kill thing, come back. I'm enjoying it enough for the $1 I paid though, I actually had a look at the cosmetics shop because I was like only paying $1 for the game I dont mind dropping a couple $ on cosmetics... When did micro transactions start costing $30+ I thought micro transactions were meant to be small hence the name micro.. these are just transactionsits a beautiful game, i wanted to like it but the back to back quests were so boring to me even though the combat was so smooth and amazing.
Or a cool sci-fi, post-apocalyptic or cyberpunk driving game.
If you dont mind something older, I find Carmageddon is always fun to boot up, post apocalyptic car combat / racing. Just looked it up on gog and looks like one game out in 2016, I only knew they did 1 and 2I really just want to play a game right now where I can drive around in cool vehicles. GTA Online is really what I want to play, actually. It's pretty much the perfect rich club owner life simulator game, and honestly the online races make it one of the best arcade racers ever made. Unfortunately, my main account is currently tied to an e-mail that is being held for ransom by Yahoo. My alt account is not nearly as built up, because I only used it to provide a second player for heists, back when there weren't really many worthwhile soloable job options. I think I've still got some cool stuff on the alt account, so now I'm just trying to decide if it would be fun to build up this second character. I have put so much time into my main over the years.
In the meantime, I'm searching my libraries and all the stores for other games that give me a good sense of progression, and having earned what I have in a world worth exploring. I've tucked back into Forza Horizon, but that's kind of the opposite of what I want, since it just throws you in the deep end of tons of content, and says, "have fun!" So much to do, but no real sense of progression at all. I always just end up driving around in an over-modded Subaru WRX, discovering all the roads, and taking pictures of cars and landmarks.
I wouldn't mind finding a game with a similar vibe, but for spaceships. Something where I can build or buy cool spaceships, and just fly them around and explore. I've got 1,000+ hours into No Man's Sky. Something with less hardcore RNG would be great. Starfield was fun for that, I suppose. I could try X4 again, but it's the only game in the last 20 years that made me so mad, I threw my controller.
Or a cool sci-fi, post-apocalyptic or cyberpunk driving game. Unfortunately, driving Cyberpunk 2077 remains largely unsatisfying for me (in so many ways, GTA Online is actually the ultimate cyberpunk driving game.) I hear Mad Max is a great driving/car battler game. I might give that a shot.
Sorry for the stream of consciousness post. I guess none of this is even what I'm playing; rather, it's what I wish I was playing.
