It. Pennywise was super creepy when I was young. Jacob's Ladder is another movie that scared me as a kid. As an adult, movies like Funny Games and The Strangers can make me uncomfortable.

The Exorcist III, definitely, when I first saw it about twenty years ago. The murders in that film are grisly, beyond shocking, and eye-opening as to all the horrible ways it's possible to be killed. I've never found a movie so disturbing.

This is going to sound insane, but The Babadook.
it's such a stupid movie. SO stupid. I hated watching it because it was stupid.

And it scared the living shit out of me, but not till AFTER the movie was over. It still freaks me out now and again when I hear a bump in the night.

I thought it was a great film, and scary because not only could it happen, but does happen, all too frequently. Depression/PTSD is all too real, and becoming a parent doesn't make you immune. The imagined threat, The Babadook, was a creepy creation, but nothing compared to watching a mother slowly lose her mind, becoming overwhelmed by mental illness to the point where killing her own son feels like her only way out.

Absolutely.
I was just taken aback by being so freaked out by a movie that (in my opinion) was terribly acted and directed. I still stand by the opinion that it's a terrible movie....but damn did it ever leave a lasting impression.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose :(

I hate hate hate scary movies, especially when they involve Satanic shit... I had to watch this movie because it was part of an assignment at my cinema class at University so I couldn't skip it. I swear I was nervous and couldn't stand looking at the clock close to 3:00 am for like a year after.

Nothing has ever scared me UNTIL I saw "The Exorcism Of Emily Rose" - still to this day nothing bother's me, I have seen LOTS and lots of scary movies, movies that are banned, movies people have claimed they walked out of theaters too and nothing scares me or bother's me. I still can't watch "The Exorcism Of Emily Rose" - Seconding @Kitsune

Those documentaries on Netflix about how companies like Monsanto have the agricultural industry by the balls scare me shitless.

After watching over 40,000 horror films from many different countries; the scariest film that I have ever seen was Pasolini's 120 Days of Sodom. Pasolini created a film of true terror because it was based on De Sade's "120 Days of Sodom" but he changed the time to fascist Italy. I watched it and I was shocked at the level of depravity plus violence.

I am thirding Emily Rose. 3am scares me too now. If I am online around that time I just stay on passed 3am so I don't have to be awake and alone through it. I for sure think this might be the scariest movie I have ever seen. I've seen a lot too.

The babadook was great too.

There's a scene in an older horror movie Don't Look Now (1973) with Donald Sutherland that traumatized me.

The ending where he thinks he's been chasing his daughter the whole movie and it ends up being a murderous little person wearing the same yellow rain coat who stabs him. I'm not afraid of little people at all but idk just something about the expression and the shock of it not being the daughter freaked me out so bad.

I googled the scene and can't even get myself to click on it lmao.

This movie was so intense, I liked it though because I do like movies that are completely messed up and intense.
