Kids use their parents' credit cards to buy porn/camtime, parents dispute the charges. Married/committed people use their joint accounts, are questioned by their partners, charges are disputed. Drunk people spend more money than their sober selves feel they should have, they dispute the charges. I wouldn't be surprised if now and then unscrupulous studio owners use stolen cards to boost their models' scores as well, but I expect it's mostly the first three scenarios.

I am not sure it is so common, but in short members apply. Usually for good reason in my personal experience, though am sure it has been abused.
Depends an awful lot on the site you cam from, some are model centered some are member centered.

I started on a member centered site and charged back every so often, say when a pvt went wrong technically or from a model milking extra credit. It worked well in that you could redo/ partially redo an experience or spend on someone more deserving of your spend. I learnt who to spend on from lowering the risk. I don't think the site benefited or lost much from this position in hindsight.

I later switched to a model based site and soon learned to spend on risky models and cam feeds at my own risk without the safety net. On this kind of site charge-back is pointless. You lose sometimes from your risk, but the lessons can be worth it. You tip more, and spend less time pvt or in group. Model based sites definitely work better for those you already know and allow for more social time with the model. It can be a richer experience as a result.

In short my answer to your question is that you have joined a member based site, hence more charge-backs. They favor customer service over the freedom to make the wrong choice, members must legitimately consent to spend on a model... i.e. no buyers regret, so they are less likely to leave after spending.
IMO sites offering easier charge-back are a good place to start for members, experienced members will gain a deeper experiences with sites taking more risk with their credit.

@Ambers Troll Not sure what you mean by "member centered" sites. Can you clarify? Also, banks generally do a fine for chargebacks, not to mention that most cites close accounts after a chargeback has been done.

I agree that if a model is scamming for extra money the member should be able to get his money back, but I don't necessarily think that's the best way to go about it.

sites offering easier charge-back
I think you're confusing chargebacks with refunds. If the site's customer service gives you money or credit back, that's a refund. A chargeback occurs if you dispute the charge through your credit card issuer. I don't think any site goes out of their way to make it easy for members to reverse charges through their issuer/bank, for all the reasons Ann_Sulu provided.

Yes was referring to chargeback on spending on a model, not on credit added to a site. Your earlier post would be a good description of chargeback excesses in that case.

The over-welming majority of camsites will ban your I.P forever if you do an actual chargeback, because if you don't have the decency to contact customer support directly about an issue, it can only be assumed you are just looking to hose everyone for your good time like a big ol' scammer.

Edit: I also don't think the chargeback rates are that much higher than other sites selling goods.
