Women's Only Masturbation Bar

A new ladies-only masturbation bar stocked with colorful sex toys is creating buzz in Japan.

Love Joule, a “love and sex bar dedicated to women,” aims to foster a comfortable atmosphere in which ladies can “openly discuss masturbation,” perhaps with the help of a cocktail or two.

“Since most people view female masturbation as something of a mystery or taboo, it is not a usual topic at typical bars,” said owner Megumi Nakagawa, according to the Tokyo Reporter.

Behind the bar at Love Joule is a bright display of candy-colored vibrators and lubricants. There’s also a selection of champagne and liquor bottles.

The bar, which opened in July in Tokyo’s Shibuya district, is off limits to men, unless accompanied by a woman.
It’s “fashionable and sexy in a different kind of space — perfect for girls-only discussions or a date,” Nakagawa said, according to the Tokyo Reporter.

Twitter users were amused by the bar’s concept.

“Why didn’t I think of that?” one wrote.

“Empowering, I guess,” another person tweeted.

The bar boasts it has already become popular among stars of Japan’s adult film industry, citing X-rated actress Nayuka Mine as a customer, the Global Post reported.

Yeah, I hear they're super rapey over there in Japan. And whilst I'm not an expert in Japanese culture I'd figure they probably have plenty of misconceptions based both on the laws they have and the pop culture coming out of there.

Sharing toys with other ladies, I'm not so much for that. Unless you just buy your own. It only takes one slightly lazy worker who doesn't finish sanitizing something all the way for you to pick up a yucky.

When it says men are not welcome unless they are accompanied by a woman, that pretty much ruins it for me. I would not look forward to the hoards of horney boyfriends that make their girlfriends take them to the sex bar so they can hit on women while their girlfriends stand around awkwardly.
