Dont think I saw a thread for this yet!
Does it actually do anything? Can we use more CSS without making it explode?
On the surface it just looks like they added some pretty buttons to it. Has anyone tried any interesting experiements?

The big win so far is that they have added ID's to all the elements of their HTML which makes it *much* easier to apply custom styling, move elements around, show/hide sections etc. In terms of CSS it's the difference between being able to say "apartment 55 of bigass apartment building" to choose an element vs what you currently have to resort to which is something like, "well it's on the third floor, a couple doors down from that apartment with the green door".

There is a thread discussing it here.

My bad! Thanks!

Does anyone know if there's a way to get at the beta profiles? (profiles-beta.myfreecams.com now just gives you the live site, i.e., exactly what profiles.myfreecams.com shows)

Stupid me, I didn't save a copy of my CSS anywhere. I had figured that the beta site would stay up after the switch on the "real" profiles pages.

I'm not looking forward to redoing the hour of work it took to port all my CSS to the new layout. :(

If I use custom CSS, will it still keep the stuff I made in the editor? I remember it being so that if you tweaked the CSS all the stuff you had done in the editor would be deleted.

It no longer has that problem. The new one preserves what you type. This is probably the best improvement of all. :)

edit: oh wait, I may have misunderstood you. You can't mix custom CSS with what you get in their appearance editor, if that's what you're asking. What I meant above is that it no longer mangles your custom CSS every time you edit it.

Well, I complained and MFC told me that the beta site will be available again in a few days for anyone like me who wants to be able to get at what we did during the beta.

Closed the original thread about this since it was for the BETA testing. (If you'd like to read previous comments, see here https://www.ambercutie.com/forums/viewt ... 93&start=0).

I redid mine today. Deleted all of my custom CSS and went straight through the new editor. I think it's prettier than it ever has been, and it was much easier.

Wow, it looks great!

I love to tinker with CSS too much to go that route, but it's great that they finally have easy customization which produces such nice results.

I was too lazy to make a new topic, but, I've been bored and I decided to edit my own profile. (Does anyone actually look at Member profiles?!?!?!)

Anyways, tell me what you think:

http://profiles.myfreecams.com/takuy

The content is probably going to change, but I'm done with editing most of the stylings, I think.

I don't understand. All my images were working correctly before, but now when I try using the same codes, it won't upload the images!

Can anyone help a girl out? :( I just need 1 freaking image!

Postimg but so were all the others. I'm thinking it's just too large? Maybe I'll try cutting it in half and uploading each half separately. :think:

Are you getting an error message or are the links just not showing up.
The links just aren't showing up. :s I used the same <img src=""> code as before, also postimg urls as before...
I just tried cutting the image in half and stacking them, still nothing. I do not understand. lol

I am still editing it in the "About Me" section. Maybe they disabled that so now you HAVE to go through the "advanced" section.

Can you post an example of an IMG link you are trying to include?

Looking over your About Me section, currently it just has the Under Construction text.

I'm under the assumption that she couldn't get the image to work, so she took it off for now.

Posting an example of your code will help, so we can see if there are any errors and help you out! :handgestures-salute:

Sorry, I got frustrated with it, so I just threw that up there lol

Originally I used
Code:
<img src= "http://postimg.org/image/o5sie3uhh/">
in the "About Me" section and it worked. :s And thanks for the help guys :) I was going mental...

And yes, the image in the code is what I'm looking to post. I tried cutting it in half to see if the image was too big, but that didn't work. Am I going to have to start using the "advance" section?

Use
Code:
<img src= "http://s10.postimg.org/4b6grzf9z/newbackground2.jpg">
instead. Your src does not technically point to a file. I expect that's what MFC is having issues with.

Still not working. :s Like I said, maybe they've changed it so you can't code that section? Where would I place it in the advanced CSS? I'm unfamiliar. :woops:

So, I inspected the HTML and I noticed that it's changing the code for me. I guess it has a fail detector now, so if you forget to close a tag or something, it'll do it for you. Except it's changing my code to the file attached. :s

Try
Code:
<img src="http://s10.postimg.org/4b6grzf9z/newbackground2.jpg" />

Tea420 is also right in that postimg could be doing something weird. I see the image in my profile and from the pasted URL. I had someone independently test the URL and it worked. Both of those were Windows boxes though.

Already tried that. Maybe it should be reported as a bug? Last time I messaged support, they never got back to me... lol

Try this one

Code:
<img src="https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9659390/ACF/newbackground2.jpg" alt="" />

I just copied the image to my dropbox. You'll want to put it somewhere else if that does end up fixing it.
