Can a male model do well in the business?

How much can a male model make who has above average looks and an Above average body. I'm also fun to talk to and intelligent.
I'm also willing to show everything, do everything within reasons, build connections with clients etc. and willing to put in effort (work 30-50 hours a week).


So what would I be able to make on average per hour.
 
Most of us here are female models and don't really know much about male cam modeling. I'm sorry!

Also, there is absolutely no way to tell how much you could make. Some people make a few dollars an hour, some people make hundreds an hour. There's no telling who will be there in your room, how many people will take you private, like your personality. Camming is a huge gamble!

Yes, it is this way with females, as well. Being successful in camming is not determined by your sex, or even sometimes by your looks or what you do. Get two girls that are identical and do the exact same thing. One may fail while the other does not. It really is that random.
 
I understand, but can you try to give me an idea? An average? Anything will make me wiser.
 
There is a new male model on the site, maybe he will show up and help you a little.

I do not know if it is true, but I always hear you would get most of your money doing gay stuff for men. If that does not bother you, then you could join a site and try it out in your free time.

There really is no average. I know its hard to imagine but some people really do make $5-/hr while others make $100+/hr. and there is no secret formula or code that will put you in the upper hourly average. Until you give it a try, see what your fan base is and start going online it is impossible for anybody to tell you. This is also true with female models, its just impossible to know what you will make until you try.

Do research, watch other guys and then give it a try. Thats all you can do!

Sure, there is an average, but as far as I know the income of models is not public record and unless you sit there and watch hundreds of guys and calculate their earnings, then average it, you won't know what it is, just like we don't.

I doubt anyone on these forums is an expert in the arts of male cam modeling. I sure as hell am not, but if you talk with other male cam models (PM them on Streammate or something), they will be able to better inform you than female models on here will.
 
As a SOLO male model? Probably not very much, honestly.
Unfortunately, you would be in competition with a lot of men who are willing to do for free what you plan to get paid for. Take 2 seconds and go to chaturbate.com and you will see exactly what I'm talking about.
As a side note, I'm friends with a VERY insanely good looking guy who tried out camming a couple of years ago, I believe he said his absolute best day ever was $35 bucks.

I would guess that the dudes who cam can probably pull in minimum wage at least. So, if you already have a job that pays the bare minimum and would rather wiggle around the internet, why not? Like Shaun said, most of your money is going to come from dudes. The better you are at handling that, the more money you could make. As far as the average thing goes, sure there's an average. BUT with how varied incomes are for this sort of thing, looking at the average is pointless. On MFC for example, you can tell how much per hour a girl makes by looking at her camscore. If you try to average it out including top girls, you're going to get an estimate that is way, way too high. It would be like trying to guess what the average actor makes taking into account Angelina Jolie and your local dude wearing a taco suit and passing out coupons.

yeah, solo male cam models are at the low end of the income scale.... sent a shout out to a bud of mine that does it.. hes frakkin gorgeous, well hung, nearly perfect body, the whole run... he still barely makes over minimum wage full time camming. his real income comes from selling his vids and pics and such.... and yes 99 percent of the people who will tip you on cam are gunna be gay guys, very few females tend to watch the cam model guys.
 
I'm doing cam on imlive and livejasmine...but is pretty crap....when i started on imlive at the end of april to may it was pretty ok.... but now is so dead.....anyway on imlive the best is Aaron72 (i reckon) anyway he's Aaron...and he's doing good...he's winning lot of prizes and he's always the male cam model of the week.....
I'm working in bad hours (I'm in Australia) so i'm loosing the top of the customers and i can't work on week end......but luckly i'm not doing this to survive.....
Anyway it will be a bet....u can be lucky or not...it depends also about ur usual customers....u can find people that will take u in pvr for half hour or more every day/night for example...or not......

It would be great if a male model with some real experience could give me some numbers for example, there is a lot of information that people could give me. And I know my experience woudn't be the same as theirs but that's fine.

We pay models $0.80/minute for each customer in Premium Chat, and $1.00/minute for Exclusive Chat plus a weekly bonus of up to 30%. With Premium Chat more than one paying customer can be in your room at the same time, so if there are 10 customers, you would earn $8.00 per minute. As an average, our webcam models make from $500 to $1,000 per week working 20 to 25 hours, with some models making much more. We have models who have made over $2,000 in a single day, so what you make will depend on you. The odds are, whatever you make with us is more than you would make working as a webcam model anywhere else.

It does not matter how much anyone else makes, because you are not them. Stop wasting time bugging female models about how much male models make, and go sign up. After you have worked at least part time for a month come back and tell us how you did.

Do you know how extremely annoying it is when someone won't take the thoughtful & honest answers that are already given? You are on a female cam model forum, and yet insist we have more information that we aren't sharing. Seriously, go figure it out for yourself. People don't like to help people who can't help themselves.

Keep in mind that their average A. includes people who are soaring and failing at camming and B. is an attempt to get new blood on the site. If you're this worried about it before even trying, working in a commission based job might be too stressful for you. It's a lot of highs and lows. Maybe just try it out as a hobby without expectations and see what you can manage. There are way too many variables to predict how you'll do.

BTW, internetmodeling.com is a streamate studio, and they will take a percentage of your money for doing nothing. You would make more money just signing up through just Streamate.

I've heard nothing but negative things about internetmodeling.com. If you sign up through them, and then decide to switch to Streamate, they have it in their contract that you can't for at least 6 months. So I would highly advise against it.

Until you get off your ass and actually do it, you will never know what YOU can make. I understand wanting to know what the potential average is, but this is not like any other job, there are too many variables. You said you did your research but are now here, a forum that is 99% camgirls and members who watch camgirls. I have only ever seen on male cam model post here, if you do a search you might be able to find his posts and PM him with your questions. I will say, that if you are this way on camera, you probably will not do very well.

There is no average for female models. You could make $10,000 a month or you could make $10 a month. It really is that varied. I imagine it's significantly more varied for males trying to break into camming since there are many, many guys jerking it for free, for fun.

We're not trying to be unhelpful, we just really don't have any answers for you. A male model stepped forward in this thread already, that's about the best you're going to get. We aren't men, we don't know anything about the money involved for male models.
