I get confused where people get these expectations from tbh

Hadn't thought of HOM in decades, but it reminded me of growing up in the 70's and 80's in the UK and listening to the Football scores being announced on BBC TV every Saturday afternoon.
Each fixture result would appear line-by-line on the screen as the announcer (Des Lynam?) would read out the final scores.
My father loved his football, and so we always had to watch/listen avidly like a ritual.
As a kid, I always found many of the teams names to be very interesting, sometimes they sounded mysterious, or at least just a change from 'Millwall United'
