I get that planes have to land on it but I used to live next to The Shard and it’s fucking massive.

Anyway, to the above debate - I agree religion and age comes into it massively. Policymakers and those voters who the policymakers are thinking about are of a certain age and persuasion.

(Slight UK twist here) Brexit voting taught me a lot - from the majority of young people who voted, they voted against leaving the EU. The majority of 45+ voted for leaving the EU. A lot more percentage of the older generations vote as opposed to younger people.

If more younger people voted, Brexit would never have happened and they now still could live and work in any country they wanted in the EU for the rest of their lives and enjoy all the benefits of cheaper property, healthier, easier lifestyle.

ETA: my point being that the fact that older generations influencing younger generations isn’t always in their best interest.

Ok so this is kind of random, but I want to make a post advocating for hamsters.

Seriously.

I'm in the market for a hamster rn, and I went to a big pet store to try to learn about them, get to know some, build some rodent connections, network, whatever...

Anyway, at the pet store all the info they posted was incorrect, according to what experts and people really familiar with hamsters online are saying.

Apparently, for a hamster not to be stressed (which is what I want, I want a happy, healthy, content hamster) they need to be housed individually, in at least 700 sq inch enclosure. Pretty much less that 2% of the hamster enclosures you see for sale online, and in stores have even 600 square inches of floor space, nvm 700. I can't believe "humanity", I really can't. It"'s like nobody gives a shit about anything?!

Anyway ,Happy TG to those who celebrate it.

I used to have an adorable Robo Dwarf Hamster (They are the smallest of the hamster species) from PetSmart, and they are sooooo freakin' cute. It's heartbreaking when they die though. Hamsters have such a short life span, and Robo Dwarfs live for about two years. I will never forget the day I found the little cutie in his cage not moving...

I remember my son was little, and he and I got dressed up in a black suit and black dress (Yes, just like on The Cosby Show when The Huxtables' goldfish passed away...lol), and I buried Gabriel in the backyard.

do you (or anyone else) know of another place to buy hamsters?

A lot of times people tell me to go to Facebook Marketplace for stuff, but I haven't had a Facebook account in about 15 years. I'm not signing up for one, so that's not an option either.

I loved selling items on FB Marketplace, but I know that as a seller there were so many flakes, time-wasters, and bots on there. Maybe it's easier to deal with, though, if you're a buyer instead.

Thanks for letting me know 2 years, because I keep reading anywhere from 2 to 5. My friend bred that exact breed when we were in high school, and my memory isn't the best, but I could have sworn she never had any that lived past 1.5 to 2 years. So your feedback is making me think I might not want to doubt my memory on this one.

I do the same thing when my pets die. My friends used to think I was a bit nuts for it, but I don't really care.
It's very upsetting when they pass on. I always hold a service too

Yeah, a few people were a bit insensitive over my sadness about the hamster, because apparently crying about a beloved hamster is silly compared to crying about a dog or cat. But you know what? Fuck people...

I've been listening to the same playlist on repeat while camming (using CC0 licensed music so I can resell the recordings in the future) and think I'll have to switch out the order of the songs, because my body is starting to move on it's own as my head knows exactly what song comes next and it's starting to make me a bit crazy xD

I would seriously love for this to stop happening. I honestly feel like most people only vote because they feel like they are supposed to do it and not because they care about the candidate's stance on certain issues or that they actually researched XYZ candidate beforehand. Oh and when you don't do your due diligence when it comes to elected officials, you end with a morally corrupt motherfucker that looks like the human equivalent of a damn Cheeto in the highest office in the land.

Sometimes when I see MAGA people being interviewed and I see that they are still drinking the "orange kool-aid" 11 months into this current administration, I seriously start thinking that people should perhaps be given a mental health evaluation/psychological examination before they are allowed to literally vote. I know that thought is highly controversial but given that we have people that went into a voting booth and knowingly voted for a convicted rapist that is highly morally corrupt and has insulted every ethnicity and every community imaginable(including the LGBT community and the disabled community), requiring people to see a psychiatrist before they vote is not really that far of a stretch.

I can rest my head at night knowing that I didn't vote for the fuckery that is happening at 1600 penn. I voted for the pretty black lady who wanted to improve the economy and basically help people buy homes, so my conscious is clear.

I know that Whitmer is about to leave office but I sincerely hope that she has the good common sense to veto any bills that essentially eradicate the internet beforehand.

I have been away from MFC for almost a year now. I never felt valued on that site at all, and I even had two new tags. Before deactivating my acc I asked around if anyone would miss me... crickets. Asked mfc support to reopen it again just because... I can't let go and then I just read this... it made me tear up a bit not gonna lie

During my lunch break, I used to be able to walk into a quiet room in the building to eat and relax in peace. We used to have two rooms like that during the time of my break, but unfortunately neither of those rooms are available anymore for some peace and quiet. So I'm stuck having to sit in the lounge with the other loud, gossipy women.

I don't drive, but if I did I would definitely be relaxing in the car during that time.

Yup, I do all that stuff the MFC Model Support always suggests to do. Then I'll think "Ooh, so far, so good...it seems to be working!" And then it'll just continue disconnecting me again shortly after that.

This kind of thing happened to me for a while, certain times of day were worse than others. It turns out it was packet loss happening during periods of time where there was a lot of “noise” on the local lines (internet provider network). It may be worth a call to your service provider to ask them to check for that.

Made the mistake of not listening to my body. I was bowling with the GF and another friend and they were having so much fun but right before the last round I felt minor lower back pain but when the last round came up I tried to bowl anyway to finish the game.

I had to be carried out of the bowling alley, I can't move, the pain medicine in Uruguay is pretty weak, I can't even get out of bed without help and any attempt at moment sends sharp electric pain to my lower back.

I hope you can access a doctor. I don't know your age, but after about 40, a lot of us have deteriorated or worn discs in our backs. They can partially rupture or even slip out completely, with certain movements.
I have one in my neck like that, and most guys I talk to (who have deteriorated discs) have one or two in their lower spine.

Whatever it is, I hope that you can get medical help.

With disc stuff, anti-inflammatories, and muscle relaxers help a lot. But someone medical should take a look.
