Interestingly I can't think of a single food that I used to like, and now don't. Hmmm.

Sadly, I have. I've had to do a lot of reevaluation with my relationship with food, since my past as a very not-picky eater has ended with some serious health issues. Most striking to me, in recent years, I've grown sort of lukewarm in my taste for meat. I skip pretty much all poultry at this point, and most seafood, too. Honestly, if I could get past my love for an occasional bacon cheeseburger, I think I could even manage to go vegetarian.

As ordered by the Queen... 😁

Fresh pineapple is bangin'. Especially a couple of days after cutting it up. It just turns into candy.

Also digging just plain baked cake from a box mix.

I like fresh pineapple but enjoy it best when someone else handles the mess of cutting it up. 😏

I find it mildly therapeutic. Each one of those knotty things that doesn't come off right away is some tipper's face who slighted me.

I may or may not be a little petty about that shit. 🤣

I forgot I was supposed to try your fancy pineapple recommendation, and instead bought my first "Sumo mandarins" which I'll try one of this afternoon.

Those are good too! I also recently found out there is a raspberry orange. I want to try that next. :)

These will be my new citrus. No more cuties or halos, with their bland watery weirdness. SUMOs!

In the Let's Talk Snacks thread, you're never late for any discussion when it's anything about food. 😂
I giggled when this thread was used as a dagger toward me...like who doesn't like talking about food? Food and sex very much go hand in hand.

So today's tidbit -- raspberry oranges are just blood oranges with a better marketing team. Themoreyouknow.jpg

Speaking of raspberry -- this week, it was revealed to me by several coworkers in casual lunch conversation that they don't like raspberries.

So, apparently, there are people out there that don't like raspberries, like several people. My mind has been blown.

I didn't like raspberries for a very long time. Now I can't get enough.

When I first moved into our home in Washington state, there was a huge raspberry patch on the corner of the property.

It was fun for a second... picking fresh berries and popping them in your mouth was a novelty that wore off fast once 1. you realized how many bugs were in their furry texture, and 2. how many spiders liked to live in their plants, and sticking your hand in to pick berries was quite an endeavor for an arachnophobic! (#2 applies to the millions of blackberry brambles on the property as well.)

Now I'm in Nevada and get to worry about scorpions so... I digress 🤣

I planted a row of berries (alternating blackberries and raspberries) around the sides of my backyard chicken run when I fenced it.
Provides the chooks with shade and an abundance of bugs, which they love to eat.
Benefit is collecting fresh eggs and berries daily 🥳
