Sometimes I have such a hard time getting over the mental hurdle of doing hair, doing makeup, getting my toys out, and performing on camera. I end up streaming like every other day and I could do so much better if I increased my time spent on stream.

What do you hotties do to combat this? Do some of you not experience it? I want/need MONEY MONEY but my own libido is pretty low and I have always hated being on camera. I never wear makeup IRL either and my hair goes up in a clip. Couple that with the general distaste for jacking guys off, dealing with broke guys who don't want to tip, having to please low tippers to encourage higher tippers, and weirdos who [insert terrible thing here], it feels like I'm climbing a mountain every time I want to make $50 bucks.

I make about $50-60 in 2 or so hours, which is better than a regular job but not nearly what I want to be making. I'm working on learning how to multistream so I can get more traction for the same amount of effort, but that's another hurdle. As far as looking for alternative work, I have a day job and this is my supplement. It's the only other viable income stream I can currently get, so I need to make it work.

Thanks for listening to me rant :) I have so much respect for sex workers and the effort they put in -- it's not "easy money" by a LONG shot. The mental load is huge and you guys are rock stars.

I had to adopt the Nike slogan, "just do it." Not every night is going to be the same and if one time slot isn't working, try another. I put very little effort into my appearance, I only use the toys I want to use. But at the end of the day, the only true motivating factor is having a successful night.

The time's gonna pass one way or another, and the reality is you'll probably feel even worse if you don't just get on. Do it enough, and it becomes a habit and overrides anxiety, over time.
Make sure when you are on, you don't ever do anything that you didn't want or feel like doing, at the specific time you did it.
Otherwise, it'll just make it more difficult and feed into anxiety and dread of getting on. Manage your room in a way that makes you look forward to logging in, and don't compromise on that.
No matter who says what; not their room, not their head, not their life energy.

And consider getting into content production on the side, if that's something that is feasible and practical to you & your personal situation.
But plenty of models do really well camming only. It's just harder as a new person these days.
Kick ass & take names Girl!

Excellent advice! Content production is also a mental hurdle. I have an OF but only like 7 fans on it. The time balance is rough but ideally I could cam and feed users to my OF. I just have a tough time keeping up. I manage a family of 4 basically by myself so I need like 80 more hours in a day LMAO

Record your streams and post that as OF content.

Personally, I'm not a fan of OF.
I am almost 100% exclusively a SM model for live shows, and SM models are not and have never been allowed to advertise OF, while live camming.
If I had put 13 years mainly into CB, or MFC I would likly feel very differently about OF. But, for me, unless I hired someone, OF just wouldn't be practical for me. And I'm not hiring anyone. That's a nightmare I'm neither ready, nor looking forward to beginning.

When I say content sites, I'm referring loosely to C4S (clips4sale), IWC (Iwantclips.com), MV (ManyVids), and Loyalfans(LF) . Those are my core four. However, I will say that there has been a lot of drama surrounding some of these sites this year, and changes they have decided to make in response to the evolving economy and political climate in the US. Some of those changes have been outlined (and fully rolled out) in some very "interesting" ways. That's all I want to say on that matter, and I will not say anything further on that matter publicly.

I wish there was 80 hours too, I feel ya! Manage a large family also. I have some help, but not enough!

I'm on C4S and have not made a single sale. >.> lol

I've heard that the ManyVids founder or owner or whoever is trying to get women OUT of sex work, which is rich considering they laughed their way to the bank on the backs of sw's. Now that they got their bag, they're going to throw sw's under the bus to idk, make conservative incels happy or something. Totally understand if you don't want to comment on that!!

My strategy is to basically always be ready to hop on lol. I keep my toys and everything else I use in a prarie farms crate under my computer desk. I go to my websites on my phone throughout the day to get my tip menus ready for show time so that way all I have to do is tweak my camera settings and hit broadcast. My entire background is always up so I don't have to move any furniture around to get online. I do my makeup as early as humanly possible, like, hours before my actual broadcast time lol, or if I truly don't have time I play it up as a no makeup show and wear jammies. I also have a set of two drawers next to my computer desk where I keep outfits I put together, I try to keep 7 days worth of camming outfits in there and it saves space in my closet too. I think that's all my tips?

Planning outfits has been huge for me both for cam and everyday. I put them together when I put away laundry …. Hell sometimes I’ll have 20 outfits ready to go!

But also I plan lots of easy stuff, like panties, tank top and miniskirt or yoga shorts, do all my makeup on cam while chatting at the start of my stream. I have some little side things to work on to keep from getting bored during slow times: shooting pg-13 to r rated flirt/tease/fetish content, playing vinyl records, crowdsourcing content ideas and show themes grilling my audience for ideas, etc. During contest weeks I’ve even done embroidery and painting on cam just get the hours in.

Yesssss a lot of good advice here. I tend to have everything ready at all times so all my lights are on one switch, cameras are ready, toys are ready ect. I actually do makeup and preshow clean up sort of slowly on purpose to put myself into "the mood", with music going and such to keep those bad vibes away.

The thing that has helped me the most is not removing my makeup as soon as I log off. An hour or two later, you may feel second wind and now you can just go live right away. I sometimes do no makeup and jammies as @stormythunder stated above too. I'll keep a few of my lights off too on purpose giving it a more raw look, and fans seem to like seeing a show with no smoke/mirrors at times. They get to see another side of me.

Don't forget your in charge of your show, and you can make it however you want. Avoiding things you are uncomfortable with makes it easier to want to keep going. Use a "cam persona" that has enough of the real you in it so it's easier too. You don't need to act interested in things you are not. There will always be a niche for anyone, and your better off in a niche your strongest at to keep viewers. The more fun you have doing it, the easier it is to log on the next day.

Awesome advice. I cleaned up my room and remounted my camera, was all set to do a longer stretch and only got an hour and a half in before internet problems. I think it's the storms in the midwest so tomorrow is another day another dollar! I have a ton of outfits and they're comfy too. The vibes were better today and I have a backdrop and stand with a neon light coming in the mail. I also am streaming from OBS instead of CB! Learning how to use the tool. I'll start my SC account soon and stream on there before I try to multistream. Vibes are good :) Thank you ladies for being so encouraging!!!

Have you looked into prepping? IE keeping toys but up till needed or less makeup.

The second one is just the reality.....

I see my question seem to be practiced by many LOL.
