Hey everyone! They updated the site design a week ago, but apparently it wasn't just the design. There was a traffic update, and now some rooms have 25,000 views, while others have 0 views, and new viewers aren't visiting. It's not normal to give traffic to a few people and leave tens of thousands of models without work. 20,000 is a nice number, but people are more important. Who came up with this traffic split? It's inappropriate!!! Also, about the design? Most of the members are over 50, who may have vision problems. Why make everything colorless and frameless?? Okay, the design is bearable, but the traffic is terrible. Whoever made 20,000 views for a few models should be fired! Make traffic fair for everyone!!!

If you check their stats, those people are not making more money because of all those viewers. They still have the same amount of registered viewers in their room as before, but now with 5x the freeloaders watching.

I'm also not making less money because of their increase in anonymous viewers. My income, my average viewer count and my average position on page one have not changed with the new traffic split.

CB periodically does this type of traffic shift a couple times each year. It doesn't really have much of an effect from what I've experienced. It's purely visual. It'll go back down to normal after a couple weeks.

I've experienced an increase in traffic and though still small compared to the main page, I track follower count every day. In the past 90 days I've gained 3000+ followers, new fan club members. Before the change that would have taken 6 months or more to accomplish with the way I run things. (I'm incredibly strict and hit the ban button with zero hesitation.)

I've also seen a bit of a gain in viewers and seem to be building followers a little faster this month. Especially in the later half of the month. The thing I don't like about it is my sweet spot is 25-35 viewers, and that's where I usually make the most tks. Now I'm getting 50+ and peaking well over that, and very few tips are coming in. I don't think my viewers like my attention so divided. 60+ was somewhat normal for a period last year but I was still getting plenty of tips then.

Let's remind ourselves too that gas is $7 a gallon in some states and the price of a steak is literally the cost of half a mini goal.
ugh damn it.. lol gotta hit me with such a sobering sentence. When your right, your right. That's defiantly a major player atm.

The point is that numbers like 20,000 attract other members. He goes to the room to see what this 20,000 phenomenon is, but in reality, it's nothing special, but such a room takes all the traffic for itself. This is illogical.

And it was after the latest updates that traffic decreased, not just decreased, but three times decreased. and not only me. I'll have to look for a new job this summer if cb doesn't get traffic back to normal.:arghh:

ok lol did cb do something that's driving tippers to OF and such? I have never had to warn ppl with this before and never had this issue before, but I've had 4 ppl trying to tip me on OF during my live shows this week and had to warn them NO lol. I just didn't acknowledge it on stream and defiantly didn't do anything for those tips while streaming, but yeah never had that issue before and now its 4 ppl. I had no idea how to do it in chat without tripping the ai, so I just looked at the camera and said keep the tips here plz.

I would be interested in what algorithm Chaturbate uses to direct traffic to go to certain rooms/models.

Does Chaturbate calculate rankings of the models, based on proprietary criteria, and then displaying the models in order of their rank, from high to low, on the hashtag/category pages, ? Highly-ranked models could also be advertised in various other pages. This method would be universal and not the same as paid promotions.

Any details you may know would be appreciated. Thank you,

Terrible traffic after the latest updates. Since the end of April, it's been pure hell. I don't know why they did this to me and others. Why? So that only the first page could make money???

Soo....

Read this:

I'm not mad at it at all.

I feel that loss of viewership and a harder time growing viewercounts over a stream is moreso caused by the last part on the page that Vixxen posted above :
1000072491.jpg

This "spreading of traffic" seems to disproportionally impact medium-ish sized rooms since the large ones have enough active followers to quickly get up to the frontpage regardless, while everyone else gets pushed down by the recommended rooms that get pushed up in placement. It might explain some people feeling a hit in viewership right now. You're actively minimally half a page (or more depending on time of day) down to your regular placement.

It's unfortunate for my room because it makes growth much harder for me right now, but at the same time I'm happy that smaller rooms get more visability this way.

The added affiliate traffic won't really hurt most rooms, just might overall bring in a new audience to CB that's unfamiliar with camming site etiquette etc. Could lead to new converts for everyone or annoyances about ToS infractions by new members. But CB has always done the 10k viewer ads a couple times a year anyway so that's really nothing new. It might feel like the rooms that get hit with crazy traffic right now are unfairly pushed up, but they would've been in the exact placement they are right now, just with 2-3k viewers instead of 15k. It's extra helpful for them now, but doesn't affect the rest much aside from a positive-ish trickle down.
