Hello Chaturbate customers, moderators, and broadcasters!

I have a very simple question regarding PayPal.

A customer of mine is asking me to create a PayPal account because he wants to send me a donation/gift to support me, with no service or anything in return. I have already pointed out to him that something like this might be illegal and against Chaturbate's Terms and Conditions. However, he insists that it is not illegal because it would only be a donation/gift. According to him, it would only be considered a payment if he were paying me in exchange for a specific service.

I went through the Terms and Conditions again, and I can somewhat understand his point, because the rules seem to refer mainly to using other websites as payment methods and to mentioning or promoting other websites for video calls outside of Chaturbate.

So now I'm genuinely curious: is it actually against Chaturbate's rules to receive a gift or donation through PayPal from a customer, or is it allowed?

I honestly have no idea. The Terms and Conditions don't seem very clear about this specific situation, so I would really appreciate some clarification from a moderator or someone who knows the rules.

Thank you very much !
Have a nice day x

Yes, it will get you banned.
It's not illegal, cb tos are not law, but it is against their tos.
Independent Broadcasters are prohibited from requesting any type of off-Platform payments
A payment is not a purchase, a payment is a transfer of funds.

Also paypal will ban the account and keep the money when they find out it's a payment to an adult creator and on top of that they will provide all your personal info to the sender so paypal generally is just not smart to use for taking payments directly in this industry.

It's not a good idea to arrange or discuss those types of deals, or anything that suggests going off the platform (even to talk), be it digital or in real life, as that is what could get you banned regardless of whether an actual transaction happens or not.

Adding to this, I just want to stress that it is a huge liability--especially on the doxxing side of it--that can end up having serious consequences, like crazy shit level serious.

I would never create a Paypal account again. I don't know what it's like now, but 15 years ago I created a Paypal account and used it on MFC. After 2 months I realized that my name was listed there. And on top of that, clients liked to cancel payments. So I ended up in the red because clients found out they could cancel payments. After 3 months I cancelled Paypal and I will never do that again
