I used to use plex than had some wired issues with it (cant remember what specifically, but it was a nieche issue proberly something to do with the kodi addon) and run jellyfin now, not really much of a difference once it's set up and running tbh. I also have an appolo server running for game streaming, interface is trash but it's an admin interface for adding the game paths so dont acutally see it often, works really well, but then I dont think I am as sensitive to input lag as some people since all I see are complaints about onlive and I had it and used it and I was like "this is awesome" I never had any issues (other than the resolution dropping to cover stuttering to stop the game lagging out but it was only ever for a couple of seconds at a time) with it even back then.

I love Kodi when it works. But configuring it is the worse! Finding repositories and such isn't as easy as it used to be too. Lately I got access to my friend's giant server, and if she doesn't have what I'm looking for, I just download it myself now.

Setting it up is a royal pain in the butt, I think I have managed to get it set up how I want once, where I have a tab for games broken down by console with all the artwork in the correct cases as icons, then had to re-install windows and really cant be bothered with setting it up again, I think last time it took me about 2 weeks (couple of hours a day most days) of going through repos trying to find ones that worked still (a lot broke when they moved to python 3 and most of them dont get worked on anymore) and then trying to find a skin that supports the views you want... tried building custom views and a custom skin... did not go well and would have been way too time consuming to get it working right, turns out there is such a thing as too much customization
