You're making quite general statements for it being just your opinion. I don't understand what you mean by "time is the most precious commodity we have". Well yes, and customers have to give up time to make the money to pay whatever they want to buy, so it goes both ways.

Unless you're saying that a camgirl spends several weeks to do one custom, I don't understand what your last opinion means either. You make lots of money and the camgirls you buy from spend alot of time to make the customs, that's really good for you, but it has nothing to do with how things are in general. Once again, it's very different from case to case. In some cases the customer invests more time/money, in some cases the camgirl do, in some cases it's quite equal. I think this is fairly obvious.

I think this is a stupid assumption from your side. You have no idea how much work a customer must do to get the money to pay for a custom. And all camgirls do not invest a huge amount of time in their customs.

It depends, but at the same time remember that most camgirls don't want crap videos spread around the internet. I mean most don't want them spread at all anyway, but would definitely not want people seeing such bad quality as a recording to be played over and over.

Perhaps the models you got videos from weren't great at producing quality videos, but even back when I didn't know the stuff I do now...well hell it actually took way longer back then! Like it'd take over an hour to just make a video showing off one body part. Not even joking.

Think of it this way. Have you ever been in a model's room when she had a bad quality cam, and a member tried to help her figure out how to make it better? The model will fumble for ages with software stuff, lighting, angles etc, and it'll take forever just to get things "kinda alright"

Fact is this burns out many models from even wanting to make custom content. Not tryin' to step on toes, or white knight camgirls here, just saying that unless you're a camera man for a living...it's hard to realize how difficult it is to produce even the most noob quality of videos.

I enjoy reading the discussions in this thread and I've learnt alot from it. If you think it's just an annoying complaint thread, then feel free to not read it.

Sure maybe, but I feel like unless you ask her for the video, and she produces it in the same hour, it's kinda hard to tell how much effort she really put into it without being there.

There is no solution to something like this, whether its camgirls or anyone else. Some people are bad and are gonna scam. Some people are good and won't. Like Amber said, it's caveat emptor -- when you buy something off the interwebz, you have to use your common sense and some general safe-buying practices.

If you just want to vent because you feel like you got taken, well, ok. But every one of us have gotten taken by somebody at some point. It's hard to feel outrage just because you experienced something that everybody experiences.

Sucks, but that's life, and you gotta move on.

I'm not looking for a "solution". I want to discuss and hear other peoples experiences and opinions. Alot of what's been said in this thread I'm sure will help me when doing deals in the future and I'm sure it has helped others too.

yeah... we're pretty big on giving harsh truths to fellow models who put themselves in dumb situations in MO. Most models who come here wanting to share a scam story aren't posting about it in the public section.

I personally think it's a great thread, however I think it should be more towards finding solutions to scamgirls than commiserating. If it's commiserating I say take it to the "worst thing a camgirl can do thread." At least it won't just be posts, about the same broken record subject. Sure there are other threads, but the threads I'm at least thinking of are like the wtf/lol threads.Those are mostly lighthearted lulz about silly brainhurt. I honestly had to look up the thread she mentioned, and I doubt any like it lasted very long. Yes, the thread she mentioned isn't as light as the wtf/lol threads, however I think after reading it, the reason it was locked/abandoned is it's known members are going to try to scam models all the time. Models can actually get banned from sites for scamming/taking money off site, whereas members can use a different card/IP, and get right back into camsite membership. Not saying models can't sneak their way back in, but it's quite a bit of work, and chances are likely they'll be caught.

The way I think of it is if you go to a restaurant and order something, but you don't get it...what happens? You want to then talk to the manager with proof the employee did the thing wrong. Do you have proof of purchase from the restaurant? Is the item on your receipt? Is it in chat archives? Yes? Great, it's highly likely the person you dealt with will get a warning at least. Without proof, however, you can't really get very far. If you haven't known the camgirl for long enough to feel assured you're getting what you ask for...don't cut out the middle man. Get an archived chat/pm/mail on site saying the model would do it. That's what the site uses as a receipt, along with your tip history after all.

Yeah we are pretty quick to tell "our own" when they fall for the very basic scams something like "Welcome to the Internet!" and link them to threads/pages/wiki entries that state how common the scam is when they post about such things. Most subjects on this are in the MO section.

I am the person who is cancelling something on him and I panicked when I hadn't heard back from him over what seemed to be (to me) a long period of time as I was not aware he is in Europe.

Ann_Sulu NAILED it. I know people are all about their instant gratification, but we are not trying to send out a shitty video just because we feel bad about keeping you waiting. We are trying to follow all of your custom video instructions and requests as best as we can (some guys even want the model to read from a script), and we want you to be happy with the finished product. That, in my opinion, is good customer service.

That time the McDonald's employee gave me a Sausage McMuffin (or Egg McMuffin?) without the sausage (or egg) inside (so all I got was two pieces of bread...lmao)...that happened because they were trying so hard to provide FAST customer service...that they ended up leaving out the most important part, which is the sausage. Lol. So as nice as it is for a model to get you your custom video quickly, you do want her to be thorough and actually do it right.

I remember the frustration of recording a video, and then - during playback - finding a problem with it, and having to record it all over again.
