Hi, I just joined Reddit. It's not as cool as the ACF, however, anyone got recommendations of good places to look at? Not just industry related,
Thanks!
I just browse all the posts. Well, I block some of the scarier ones that have icky content that I'd rather not scroll through. THEN I browse /r/all. :)

I suggest using an addon called RES which has a ton of customizable settings. The best of which is to be able to open all the images on a page in-line instead of having to expand manually or open in a new tab.

Get the Reddit Enhancement Suite addon for whatever browser you're using. Make liberal use of filters. Unsubscribe from all the default subreddits. Avoid /r/all. /r/popular is less of a trash fire, but still not great unfiltered.

Your best bet is to populate your home page with stuff you like, and stick to that. Search topics you're interested in, and find good subreddits that pop up to serve that topic. Be aware that there is a true dichotomy of quality vs. quantity on Reddit, and the bigger or more visible the sub is, the worse the quality of the content that gets posted or upvoted is going to tend to be. For example, since you like drawing as a hobby, I would recommend /r/ArtistLounge as great place full of people of all skill and experience levels having worthwhile conversations, while the far more popular /r/art is mostly a disappointing harbor for low-effort showing off.

DFT ain't wrong, and neither is Lelo1. Reddit makes me mad and sick of people every single day. The internet was a mistake, and Reddit is proof of that. And yet, here I am, still active there, because I can't quit it, because I'm weak. Don't be weak like me, Dan.

It sounds like Reddit is not the place for what I wish to do, BDSM, as in Business Development Sales Marketing. This is taken from Natalie in Mojo Host by the way :)

It can be the place for what you wish to do. It's just another social media platform, with all the benefits and drawbacks that go along with social media.

It's probable worth starting a UfancyMe reddit, just so some one else doesn't grab it.

I generally have a a working browser window for all my work related sites and stuff at the office. And then I have a separate browser window of various reddit pages. I've yet to find something I'm interested in to not have a reddit page. So for that alone it has been great. I wasn't aware of this reddit enhancement add on so I'm definitely adding that.

I like 4chan better but Reddit is okay if you stick to the things you enjoy. I tend to avoid all political and news subreddits as well as all feminine ones like /r/twoxchromosomes. The pet content is top notch, subscribe to /r/aww, /r/zoomies, /r/animalsbeingbros and all the other pet ones

I've been very active on Reddit for a pretty long time -- long enough to be mostly tired of all its shit. My RES filter list is a mile long, and /r/all is like 80% /r/aww. My favorite cute animal sub is /r/rarepuppers. I'll admit, I really don't mind that weird infantile "animalspeak" that's developed on the cute pet subs over the last several years. I think it's pretty adorkable.

Dan, I've been thinking about your request in the topic, and it occurs to me that models can have quite a lot of success in promoting themselves through Reddit. There are several models active on ACF who have done well on Reddit. Lelo1's suggestion to make a UFancyMe is good advice, and I think it might be something that you could encourage the models to utilize as a social hub. Reddit is so damned porny, and self-posters do very well in porny subreddits. Redditors like to pretends they're too savvy to fall for marketing, but that's a damned lie. You don't even have to be too covert about it, as long as it's about the model and leading back to the service.

I'm no expert on how to skirt the politics of the NSFW quarter of Reddit, while promoting your service or the models who utilize it, but I'm sure it could be done well.

That's a great advice. I think that I am more interested about where discussions take place, rather than aggressive marketing. If there's one thing Holly from Hustler taught me, is that building a presence, and an SEO understanding of yourself, and your crowd, works better than continuously pumping your brand into every discussion. In a nutshell, boosted marketing and posts are great, however, there's no substitute for a viewer or a model, who actually searches for you. If they search for you because of an extra value you stand for and believe in, even better.

I have to confess I almost fell for it recently. Almost. Considered for a moment to subscribe to the board just for fun, not for business purpuses as you did. Heck, even the thought of getting on Twitter and Facebook has lately crossed my mind, but then I quickly restored my usual sanity. Joking. Good luck @Dan Epstein I'm sure everything will be fine.

Reddit is a tool for me, but I don't spend all day on it. If you stay away from the dumpster fire subreddits like news and politics, there can be some useful information. I use the site pretty heavily for product reviews when researching future purchases. It's kind of neat seeing old video clips that people dig up and post on /r/obscuremedia .

I'd love it if you can share links about the make-up, and the Fetish communities as well. Always good to meet subs in sub-reddits I guess:)
