    I didn't say it was zero, but love scams happen the world over. Google can find information on scams from just about any corner of the earth. Medellin is a much bigger hotspot for gringos and sex tourists than it ever is for cam girl scammers.

It's like saying that London is a sex scam hotspot just because clip joints exist in Soho. If you're not already looking for those things then they won't come looking for you.

    Yes, actually I've been in that situation temporarily and I used mobile internet which worked quite okay (though it does have it's limitations and might not work for multistreaming or streaming in higher resolution).     I wouldn't recommend it, tbh. You're essentially creating a wifi hotspot using cellular data with those things -- and hotspot connections are iffy at best. I have used pocket wifis while travelling for vanilla things like maps and netflix and it's ... iffy.
