There's freeloaders in every entertainment industry. Look how prevalent LimeWire and BitTorrent was back in the day. No one wanted to pay for their music or videos and didn't care that they were quite literally stealing from creators. And with the sex industry, the majority of the general public think of sex workers as unworthy of being respected, so why should they pay to jerk off to them? It sucks, but it's a sad reality.

A lot of people feel entitled to "free" entertainment. Which is wild to me, because porn/music/movies etc are luxuries, you don't need it to survive. Plus, I can't stand entitlement. I personally don't interact with freeloaders, even if they are polite, because just by being in my work space and trying to take up my time or energy, which other people would happily pay for, is totally disrespectful. Try going into a bar and chatting up the bartender without buying any drinks and see how far that gets you. Same thing.

Anyway, this stuff reminded me of that old piracy "You wouldn't steal a car" video. Anyone remember?

As a livejasmin's members since 5 years. The site have since 1 or 2 years a new system, members who spend credits have a badge(a mask) ans they have to spend to maintain their rank or upgrade it.
Models and members can see the member'r rank so now, even if there are grey members, with this new policy they are more silent because they are directly noticed as no spenders by everyone, so I noticed there is less begging like "show boobs show ass".
The parasites are now generally troll or bot advertising for other sites. But some freeloaders like "talkative guy in free, self proclaimed room helper, or begger" have now not diseappeared but rarest because the "Cash rule everything around.." is more obvious.

To add to this, I have personally seen a lot of big spenders who then expect "more" or they have tipped lots in another room or they are purple, go to other rooms and expect shit because "I am rich". It works both ways.
And I always agree with models who "like" greys. I mean, I was one of those anonymous users for a while until I saw exactly what the site "was" (I was very new to cam sites and they are a very big, new learning experience from both the model and viewer). After a week of just proving as a guest, I decided to signup for this one specific model because she was always very welcoming and spoke to greys and coloured alike (so long as you were nice, polite and not an ass-hat, she would be nice and chat back - whilst also doing other things like dancing etc). So this got me to signup, interact and then in the space of about 10 days, I had spent way too much on her (I won't say figured, but I used about 90% of my savings in my bank lol - not blaming her, that was my own stupidity getting carried away). And to this day I still visit her and other models. Obviously I learned a big hard lesson to be sensible and to spend what I can/have (stay in budget, but spend if/when you can). So she essentially created a "long term" spender (sure I started off as quite a "whale" but definitely not anymore).

I think most people seem to just focus on the negative side and negative comments made by anonymous and greys (some sites allow guests to post without an account).. but there are at least SOME positives to them.
I have seen guys go from grey to big spender, then back to grey for models, purely because they loved that model, had some "spare" cash that one time, and was able to finally spoil the model.

I think when you think and see ONLY the negatives in greys and anonymous, you have a worse and unhappier time because you're just constantly thinking "Look at all of these effin freeloaders".

I appreciate your well rounded approach to this, cause there are nuances, from my perspective. As a relatively new camgirl (5 months as of April 2020), I find that some grey users in my room can help stimulate the conversation when things are slow to start or if there's a slow moment during my shows. One of my biggest hurdles so far has been finding topics that are interesting to talk about but also don't compromise my location or info, or is not about sad shit like this pandemic. So conversational boosters are valuable to me, though obviously not as valuable as actual currency.
I've also successfully converted 2 greys into blues who then spent on me, not that I can take all the credit but it's an ego boost. But I may change my mind later and silence all greys... since I of course have had grey users act like trolls, but any human can act abusively no matter their financial situation.
YET this is not a typical sector of life, this is an industry where I am selling access to my time and intimacy. So of course freeloaders shouldn't be given my valuable attention. Perhaps I will put a description in my bio like, 'Dear grey and anonymous users, I love you all, let me show you the beauty of how this works: interacting with me is an exclusive club...show me you have what it takes to sit at the big kids table. Win me over' (with your money). Or maybe even that is too nice, but I like to spell out expectations before hand (so if expectations are not met later, no one can claim they didn't know the rules). I do appreciate that there's a learning curve when a new guy starts browsing Chaturbate. Thoughts?

Here's the part that gets me. If these people have no intention of spending any money on a model, why even bother to create an account in the first place? You can see it without creating an account.

Exactly! If you're just gonna lurk because chatting and/or tipping isn't your thing, you're better off just watching in guest mode. It's annoying to see 'RichieRich' in your chat everyday, and never get a hello from him. It costs nothing to be friendly. I know it's "fun" for a person to be able to create their own MFC screen name (what basics and premiums can do...not guests), but damn...if you're gonna do that, at least say "Hi" in a model's room.

So right.
Models often forget that many greys are only noobs just attracted by weird advertisements and thinking they have to behave this weird way (like "come f.. this slut live", "talk with hot babes", and so on)
Though, some (and sadly it's also the ones who speak more) will never learn

edit: At this point, we could join this other thread about affiliates... Who merit % ? Those who attract them, or those who convert them teaching them to behave as honest tippers.
