Frankie said:Jups idea is fantastic, but last night the one thing to spark conversation was me saying random shit like "Zombies, sure are pesky little fuckers aren't they" & then I mumbled something about a three some with 6 midgets (some what of a math joke since their "half people", har har)
I'm lame though.

Not just banning them when they say something stupid...more like teasing them, even humoring them--THEN ban them with lots of flair--timing is important. My point is, members LOVE it when trolls are banned; it can cause a 15 minute conversation when done cleverly. Some models even keep a running count in their topic of how many trolls they've banned during the current session.
Yups. I feel bad for the models who I really like but who allow a couple trolls commandeer their room. They generally add nothing and may even cause "normals" to leave without tipping.Frankie said:Nordling said:Banning trolls. While I hate to endorse this, you're totally right. There are some models I used to watch just because how the berated & banned trolls & I've had members say similar things about me. Feeding trolls CAN create some pretty kick ass conversations, lol.
blackxrose said:tried jupiter's idea tonight with even worse results than normal.i just said "if we get people talking i'll flash. just say hi and i'll flash". not even close.
so i change my topic to "zombies are REALLY hard to kill" and in main i kept saying MFC ZOMBIES ARE ANNOYING. lol
blackxrose said:yea i had it open to basics chat but all i got constantly were "show boobies now", "this counts as talking so show tits"...it was from the same person and he was a premium. i banned him then he called me a bitch and said he *would have* tipped after i flashed. derp....i laugh at the people who think i'm stupid and try to get free shows. oh well, maybe i'll do better the rest of this week. we'll see.

It's a good way to get guys in the room and talking about some of their favorite things. Every once in a while when some basic is begging for tits one of my other guys will tease them saying "there is only one way to get free tits in this room" and PM me with a song title. It amuses me.
Honestly, I need to start doing that again. I've been too stressed lately. I always find the room is fuller and more fun when I am being silly.

There may be a lot of reasons for members not talking: shy, non-English speaker, stepped away from computer, had to switch to another window, etc. Just because they are not speaking at that moment doesn't mean they will never speak. And even if they never speak, they give the appearance of a bigger room.
Also, I don't like when the model expects the members to provide the entertainment. I'm there to enjoy the model, not listen to JoeMember talk about how he worked on his car all day.
As you know, it's hard to start conversations. Most people, myself included, are more comfortable adding to the conversation as opposed to starting it. If your room is quiet, it likely means you don't have guys who like to start conversations. So that job is up to you. Talk about interesting things where guys can easily add to the conversation. Unless the conversation is flowing, don't ask questions. If no one answers, the silence will stand out.

This is all great in theory, BUT I think the issue is more that girls are chatting and being vocal and they still don't get any response.
It kinda gets to the point where you say WTF else can I do?
