I use -
OBS to film Link
Open Shot Video Editor to edit Link
Handbrake to compress and transcode Link

All of it is free. You should think about joining the models only section! There is a wealth of info.

I use DaVinci Resolve in my opinion it is the best free option and I think it is even good enough to compete with Adobe Premier as the best editing software. Previously I have used Windows Movie Maker on wimdows XP, Adobe Premier Pro 2.0, Sony Vegas Pro 12, Adobe Creative Cloud Premier Pro, Open Shot and Lightworks so I have tried a bunch of them. DaVinci Resolve is available on Mac Os X Windows and Linux.

I use Adobe Premier, Final Cut Pro, Sony Vegas, and sometimes use Adobe After Effects for special effects.

None of those are cheap, but I love them.

After exporting I use Handbrake to compress and Adobe Media Encoder to convert to other file types (for C4S)

I used to use iMove and it was good for simple videos.

I use Final Cut Pro with FX factory Suite Plug in (not cheap) and Motion :)
