Friday Night Movie Night

Hi folks,

first things first.. just wanted to thank all the folks that post here in an informative and helpful manner, kudos. Been lurking here for some time, and it's been very helpful.

I tried the search thingy for this, but couldn't find anything, so here goes... I've been wondering since I've been watching Olivia's movie nights (big fan of those, instead of watching a movie alone on a friday night.. well, it's a lot more fun there), about what kind of hoops a model has to jump through to be able to show a movie like that on MFC. And if, for an example, a model nowhere near the top 200 could show a movie on a second laptop without getting into trouble.

Technically, it's illegal. But I doubt it's something MFC would ever crack down on unless the copyright owner lodged a complaint. It's the same with music being played in rooms. Technically illegal but not something that ever seems to be an issue.

You can ignore blu-ray warnings as well, and torrents do not come with any warnings. Saying DVD is just habit, and a sign I am getting older I guess.

I think Rodry is more alluding to the fact that Monsters University hasn't been released on DVD (or Blu Ray) yet so the model must have obtained her copy illegally

No hoops to jump through but as others mentioned it might not be exactly legal to do. I have yet to hear of any models or MFC being contacted or sent cease and desist messages for movies, tv shows, sporting events and music being shown on their feeds. In many cases it would probably fall under fair use if you own a legal copy of the movie etc. You are probably safe to do so, but I am not a lawyer. :twocents-02cents:

there was one new model playing movies instead of her cam feed the other night and she got banned.

My understanding is she does movies available on Youtube. The theory being that if they're free to watch then what's the big deal. Which I dont think solves the legality issue

she's using something like manycam so the video is played in one window, a pic of her is in another, and a logo is also on screen. She's not merely having the TV in the background like so many did with the superbowl.

Could a lower camscore girl get away with it?
it not being on the no-no list, I think mfc wouldn't do anything until they got a complaint from a copyright holder.
Does MFC itself have a DMCA safe harbor until the complaint comes in? dont know. not a lawyer and my cyberlaw class was a long time ago

She plays the Superbowl in that window as well. I'm also not a lawyer but I've read enough about the way the National Football League protects their copyright to know they would do really bad things to her in court if they ever caught wind of it.
