Have y’all ever been recognized out in public? I did for the first time and it freaked me out but now I find it hilarious. Some guy at a bus stop asked if I was (blank) which I was but denied it. Decided to to go hide at a grocery store and wait for the next bus.
I think I have. 2 different times I have been in grocery stores, and on each occasion, a different guy (who was shopping too) looked up and got a total shocked look on his face. Then stopped in his tracks, and just stared.

The 2nd guy was really funny, because once he recovered his composure, he started laughing and laughing, and said "Awh Hell Naw...it's you." He was cool, and never said any screen names or anything, so I winked at him and smiled (gave him a Joey from Friends "how you doing?" kind of face), and he laughed even harder... and went his merry way. The first guy never recovered his composure, he just stood there in the middle of the store staring (like he saw a ghost), so I disappeared.

I have heard stories of cam models having that happen, then the dude calling out names, or following them to the check stand to try to find out their real name from credit card payment etc. I never had that happened to me. Both guys were cool and didn't try anything aggressive and inappropriate. I was with my boyfriend and a big group of people the first time, but the 2nd time I was on my own (when the guy laughed and got embarrassed).

Only once that I know of, and he handled it fine in person, but did not handle it well once he joined my cam room again. Said nothing in person, but mentioned it in public chat that his bowling league bowls at my bowling alley, and that he had seen me the last week that I was there with Jawbs. I swiftly told him to take the conversation to PM, but once there the convo didn't go so much better and I told him to drop it. The next day he was in chat, he brought it up in public room again.

His excuse is that he's got Asperger's so he didn't understand when I said not to mention it again. I say that's not an excuse for putting my security at risk, so fuck off. I banned him.

EDIT: I used to go bowling like 4x a month. I never went there again. Luckily I moved out of state less than a year later.

I'm one who if I see somebody I recognize who's a streamer, celebrity, etc. I don't approach them. I typically leave them if I recognize them since IMO they get bothered quite frequently and I don't want to add to it. Usually it's just a nod or a smile if that.

Few years ago, I was at a local bar enjoying dinner and a couple of drinks before the live music got started. I knew one of the local radio hosts well so was chatting with her a bit. She took off to go do her promo deal, and as I get up to move to a different section of the bar, I see one of the admins from a very popular FB group I was in (her and I interacted a lot within the group long before this). I let her walk past me, and then I sat down. Saw her a few more times over the evening but didn't say a word as she was with a group of people and didn't want to disturb her.

Next day, she posts up pictures talking about the event, and one of the pics you could see part of me in it. I responded publicly with just a simple "Looked like you had a great time!" then sent her a PM explaining I saw her there but didn't want to bother her so didn't say "Hi" in person. She freaked out initially. But, settled down, and after her BF and I (also interacted with him a lot) chatted she was cool. We all left it privately between us that we were in the same place, and didn't discuss it publicly even though it was well known the three of us lived in the same state and general area.

Granted, she's not a SWer. But, IMO, should all be treated equally and respect their privacy.

Sad part is that there was a guy who did wind up stalking her a few months after her and I actually met in person. He drove something like three hours "just to go hangout" in her area. This guy tried to friend me to get even closer to her and started spouting out her home town, address, family members, etc. when he and I metup for a "discussion". I already knew he was stalking her at that point, and he was told to leave her alone but wouldn't. I only agreed to meet with him to collect more info and give him a final warning since the authorities were already involved. What I got, I turned over to her and the authorities. Never heard from him again, and last heard he moved out of state.

I had it happen twice and they mentioned it in a creepy terrible way after the fact. So I have no idea who it actually was since they didn't say anything to me.

Guy 1- Made a twitter account just to tweet me DURING an event I was at asking me "Are you having fun at "EVENT NAME"??. Mind you, it was dark too and I was with my large family and it was super crowded so I am very weirded out to have been recognized

Guy 2- Emailed me after seeing me in a specific grocery store (Hawaii chain only) right when I came home from there. It was like "mmm baby I just saw you at LOCATION..wanna get together and fuck sometime?" or some shit like that

I imagine it would be even worse for escorts and strippers who work in close proximity to where they live.
I dunno. Apples to oranges.

Those folks already appear "in person" in those locations. You know where to go back to to find a stripper again. Just head to the club she's been at.

Cam models try to never let people know their locations, even nearby areas. Cam models aren't able just to be observed in their place of work.

You are correct about strippers although I imagine some of their less savory patrons might get stalkerish. With escorts I meant private SWs not brothel workers. They usually work out of a rented apartment or hotel room within driving distance of their home.

Yeah I mean I saw what you said... it's just " in person" sex workers have a different plan on hiding their city/area than "online" sex workers.

I was recognized by a cashier at a store. Only, he didn’t tell me until after he asked me for my info for the member rewards, which included him verifying my address on file. I got my receipt and as I am grabbing my bag he says “I love your cam shows”.
so now I never give real information for anything unless I absolutely need to.

what the FUCK. I would definitely take action to get that creep looked into by the grocery chain somehow

These stories really piss me off. I get that seeing a cam model in real life can be sort of like a celebrity sighting and that can be exciting but for fucks sake use some tact dudes. We’re in a weird era of Internet personalities existing in the world but without the protection mainstream celebrities have. So it’s a very vulnerable position especially since sex is a part of our work.

Even if I thought I recognised a model, I just wouldn't dare to go ask them. Maybe it's out of my own embarrassment or out of respect, I don't know exactly but it just doesn't feel right. With a celebrity sure, I get that, but I think with a cam model is slightly (or a lot) different.

Even if it was with a model I had 1000 cam2cam shows with and we get on amazingly, I would feel strange to say anything to her. I'd probably feel she thinks I have stalked her or something. So, a combination of everything would stop me from even saying hi to her.

While she wasn't a cam model, that's also part of the reason why I didn't want to say anything was out of respect and didn't want to embarrass myself if by chance I was wrong. Which is why I opted to do it discreetly via PM only after she publicly stated she was there. After she settled down a bit, she immediately followed it up with the "Why didn't you stop and say HI?!" question. She didn't like the answers I stated, and told me I should've said something...

If I did happen to recognize a cam model, or other SW, in public I wouldn't approach her in public as it'd be creepy to do that IMO. If I did anything at all, I'd be discreet like I mentioned. But, more than likely I'd not say anything. Though, I have also been told by a couple of models I am regulars with that if I'm ever in their area to let them know (they were open with me about what cities they live in). Not sure how to take that... Do they want to know so can meet for a burger somewhere? Or do they want to know so they can skip town for a few days? I'm thinking the latter:think:

No, not in the way that you mean (I block my state). But I've been recognized a few times (at the store...at a 4th of July parade in 2018...etc.) as "that girl who sang "Pony" by Ginuwine at karaoke."

Happy Shirley Temple GIF

This is a REAL claim to fame :haha:

I've never had anyone outright tell me they've recognised me, but I'm almost certain it has happened due to some very strange behaviour from exclusively men around me since starting, and creepo messages in my public chat... Australia is a small place so it's inevitable eventually in my mind.

It doesn't surprise me, though. We all get guys coming into our rooms trying to suss out if we live close to them or just straight up asking if we want to hook up with them (I recently added to my bio that CB is not Tinder )... not to mention all the stories of bitter trolls stalking models online and trying to out them in their public chat. These people are either narcissistic or lacking social awareness & common sense and they don't give a crap about a model's privacy or safety.

It doesn't suprise me either, even when you are not a cam model (ie before I started camming) there are a huge number of really inappropriate and aggressive men out there. On a weekly basis, I used to get followed in stores and hit on by total strangers (keep in mind I live in a big city, I never had that issue in smaller towns, or in suburbs). I had to have store staff ask men to leave me alone several times, because even if I kept walking and ignoring them, they still would not leave me alone. I've had to ask bar tenders, coffee store assistants, hell even laundromat assistants, to ask men to stop following me and leave the premise several times. Each time they thought I knew the guy, and was with him, but he was actually some stranger following me around and talking to me, even though I would not make eye contact, and ignore everything he had to say. Happened on public transit too. Guys would come up to me, sit across from me, and actually put their legs up on the seat beside me barring me from actually moving.

It's a fucking sick society when this is the norm. There's nothing special about me either, this happens to tons of women, all of the time. It's BEYOND FUCKED UP, that any man would think this kind of behavior is OK. The city I am in is the exact same as this. Pimps will literally pull over, follow you into a coffee store, and try to stick to you like glue. Fucking gross scum!

ETA; If I go out in the neighborhood where I live this happens too, so I basically don't go out during the day without males anymore. Even if you're pushing a stroller, and look like a bag lady, they still do it. It's fucked up beyond belief. Maybe it's just cities? No. Woman. Wants. That.

It sucks that people are that way, and the last one shows that it's not only guys. Is it only cities? No, I know guys who did it in the suburbs and rural areas as well. Hell, I've been groped by women in bars and elsewhere and I cringe. Can only imagine it's much worse for women.

Sadly, women do get the brunt of it, and it's good to see more attention being brought to it by this video and elsewhere. But others need to step up and call out when they see it happen.

Thanks for highlighting the problem of men getting abused by women, and bringing yourself into this discussion... again... as a poor victim of women.

Yes, sometimes it happens to men, but the majority of violence and sexually related violence in this country (and the fucking world) is directed toward women, by men. That's a scientific fact Honey.

I hate when this gets talked about, and some guy (I knew it would invariably be you) has to pop in with; it happens to men as well. We all know that it can happen to anyone! But the incidence of it happening to women is like 100 times higher! Could you for once not make something all about yourself. You annoy me, that's why you are on block, and I don't respond to you anymore. I don't know why I even have to see your response, I could have told the world that you would pipe in with those exact words, because that's how predictable you are.

I tried to be nice to you, and you were rude and jumped to conclusions over all of my posts (without reading them properly first) one time too many. Remember when you first implied that none of my regulars liked me via PM, then when you said I wasn't proud of being Scottish via PM, or when you accused me of being racist in front of the whole forum (because I made a joke about being poor and depressed on Halloween)?

It seems there was some ambiguity.

At this point let me be super fucking clear with you; I don't like you. Leave me alone. Other people will deal with your impulsive foot in mouth syndrome, and your shitty reading comprehension, I can't fucking stand you anymore.

ETA; Sorry folks, but it feels SOOOOO good to let that out! This chump's been a fucking dick to me for nearly a year now, whether intentional or not, and I fucking resent it!

Who's denying women don't get the brunt of it? I was saying that it sucks it happens, and glad that it's being called out in this video and others. And yes, the incidents of women having to deal with this are significantly worse than men, no denying that fact. As to men, yes it can happen. The problem crosses all boundaries not just men or women, but all genders. Is it wrong to bring this to light and address it as a whole? I don't think so

Excuse me?! I think you have me confused with someone else. It's been well over a month since our last PM response and there was nothing of the sort in our conversations about any of that. In fact, in reading through it again, I see nothing negative or even remotely close to what you're accusing me of. I also don't recall saying any of this in public either. I'll happily let @AmberCutie read through the PMs and decide if I've acted/spoken inappropriately and ban me if she feels it's warranted. But, to wrongfully accuse me of such things?

But, because you've stated as such happy to not react or quote any of your posts after this one. If others feel I've acted inappropriately in any way, please let me know. My PM box is open.

Oh my God get off your Melodrama high horse, I said I don't like you, and pointed out some reasons why I don't personally like you. I'm 39 .. I'm about 19 years too old for older men like you, who can't handle themselves socially. All I'm doing is asking you to take the hint, and fucking leave me alone. Apparently blocking you, and never interacting with your posts for 3 weeks wasn't enough, you still feel the need to be all over me like a fucking leech.

My personal opinion is that you are a huge, older, hypocrite. You call other people out for not responding to you, yet when I pointed out what an annoying Karen you were being to me over the video game posts, you stopped responding, like the hypocrite you are. Merely 12 hours earlier you bullied and called someone else out for doing, the exact same thing to you.

I see you as a completely self-centered, argumentative, bitter hypocrite, and a bully, and I'm letting you know that. Purely so that you leave me the fuck alone. Because subtlety doesn't seem to be your strong point, at all. Go back to targeting 20 year olds who you feel you can run rings around, and trick into having any interest in you. I see you way too fucking clearly for that. And I'm being super fucking direct with you about it, person to person. I straight up don't like you. Leave me alone. That simple. You don't need to bother Amber with this, God knows you take up enough of her time with useless crap, from what I see all the time around here. Just stop with your bullshit and grow up. It's that simple. THE END!

Ok, that video is fucked up. Makes me feel embarrassed to be a guy. I mean really, catcalling is bad enough but, to walk beside her for 10 minutes is super fucking creepy. And his reaction to be called fat was like something you'd expect from a 6 year old.

Seriously, what is wrong with these people that they think it's ok to act like this? Bad parenting maybe? Dad was a piece of shit so the son followed in his footsteps? I don't know but it's fucking disturbing witness it. I can't imagine what it must feel like to have it actually happen to you. No woman should ever have to go through that. I'm sorry that it happens.

People generally don't like it when they call attention to a serious issue in their life and someone who really has no idea what it feels like, tries to make it seem like they do. I mean really, come on... have you, as a man, ever experienced something similar to what's shown on the video. Unless you've spent time in prison, I'm gonna say that you haven't. Think about what it must feel like to experience that without a camera recording everything. I'd be scared out of my fucking mind. Even with a camera recording, I'd be fucking terrified. But we, as men, have never truly experienced this feeling. We have never walked down a public street in the middle of the day and been afraid of being sexually assaulted. So when you talk about being groped at a bar as a comparable experience, you're making light of an issue that someone else takes very seriously. I've personally never been groped by a woman I didn't know or made to feel unsafe by a woman. But I think most women have been made to feel unsafe by men at some point in their life.

Or what it feels like to be sexually harassed at pretty much every job you've ever had (no matter what level food service or graduate level), and when you've actually been brave enough to say something to a boss about it being told "This is something that you are going to have to get used to, you're a good looking woman." Meanwhile, the married coworker, who grabbed you around the throat, and whispered in your ear "it's gonna feel good going down" get's no discipline, and a year later goes to prison for raping a different coworker.

That's just one story of repeated stories I have like that, at all levels of job. But, hey, it must be my fault for being "pretty". I must have be doing something to deserve it. When I was 20 I literally shaved my head, so men would leave me alone, but instead, all it did was attract even weirder men, with strange kinks, to bother me every fucking place I went. You know it's pretty bad when a chick purposefully tries to destroy her looks or gain excess weight, just in the hopes to be left alone by those types of trophy seeking, insecure ego'd, narcissistic guys.

In all seriousness, I appreciate you putting that into words.
Takes some real depth of empathy to be able to tap into compassion like that, and being able to actually put yourself in another's shoes.
Honestly, I imagine it's even worse for women of color.
But I do know for a fact, that this is something nearly all women deal with, on a daily basis.

The problem is the nice, decent guys are often shy and quiet, and so it's always the aggressive assholes who make the most noise and get all the negative attention for men. There are tons, and tons of nice respectful men out there, but they just don't make the noise, so these types are what we see. The quiet nice ones are everywhere, and imo in the majority, but they just don't garner that much attention, because they fly under the radar, and stay busy with their own interests, work, friends etc. So people don't know they exist as much.

It's often the sick, aggressive, stupid ones that make themselves heard, get elected as president, waste everyone's time, and get super annoying. It sucks.

All I know is that I doubt I'll get recognized in public because 1. I don't leave home and unless my Uber Eats delivery guys watch cams, it's unlikely but also 2. When I do to out, I look like a hot dumpster fire...no makeup, hair not brushed, thick glasses that are probably dirty. And 3. I will be wearing clothes, which most of my viewers can't even picture let alone recognize me when I'm in them hahaha

I used to live in a high tourism area. So I'm not surprised I got recognized while living there. I seemed to get recognized was always at Walmart. What I did was a bit crazy but got them to get the fuck away from me.
Them: "audri?"
Me very loud: "OMG get the fuck away from me. I don't know you. This is inappropriate."

Listen, I'm a huge introvert and Im already in a bad mood having to go to Walmart. I don't care if he just wanted to say hi.
