I feel like every time someone requests something I have to beg to be tipped. Any tips or advice to get them to tip you without going back and forth so much?

Saying "please tip with requests" in response to a request with no tip is not begging, it's instruction. The person requesting is the beggar.

Very simple,

"ass bb"
"It's 50 tokens if you want to see my ass."
"ass bb"
"Put your request in a tip note. The tip should be 50 tokens."
"ASS BB"
(type) Could you not hear me? It's 50 tokens to see my ass, please put your request in the tip-note.
"ASSSSSS!"
*ban*

The person asking for ass is the one doing the begging. You are simply telling him what he needs to do to get what he wants.

What JJ & Lady L said. Requiring tips for requests is not begging.

You shouldn't feel bad for asking to be paid for the services you provide, yo. And that's all it is, it's not remotely begging, ya know?
You could periodically repost your room topic too. Have it read something along the lines of "x tokens for flash, x tokens for whatever. please tip if you're enjoying the show. all tips appreciated".
If somebody requests something without tipping first, just politely refer them to your topic/tell them how many tokens that will cost them. If they ask again without tipping, you have every right to threaten banning them if they don't a) tip for their request, or b) stop requesting it. :twocents-02cents:

Thanks everyone! These tips have helped a bunch!

The only way asking for tips is begging is if you are not providing any service in return.

Begging is asking something for nothing. If you are doing something that deserves tipping, it isn't begging. However, pleading the room for tips or constantly whining usually isn't smiled upon.

nah, unless it's rarely, the 'please tip' emotes are cheesy, listen to JJ and Luna.

I agree, it isn't begging but it's... I dunno, touting? Hectoring? Either way it's really off-putting and can kill arousal instantly. It seems a shame to me to put so much work into making guys feel horny and then douse it all with a glass of cold water on the cock by saying "CMOOON guuuuuuys stop being cheaaaapasssses teeep meee" over and over.

:tiprequest just says Tip for requests please! with white letters over blue background. Nothing cheesy.

Spamming the chat with tip emotes is the cheesy part. The actual emote isn't the real problem--even though most are pretty awful.

Fer reals. If she doesn't care enough to speak to the person like a human being, why would they tip her?
Talking in emotes is super super lame and cheesy. Using them to express feeling is not. Example... Difference between :mblush and :sexy

I do too and the one you just posted was a great example of what I said. That emote isn't saying anything. It's expressing an emotion or action that could not be seen.
Models using emotes to express themselves in chat just doesn't make sense because you can see and hear her. IMO. :twocents-02cents:

I use the "Tip for a request" emote myself sometimes. If a model is using that emote a lot in one night, it's probably because she's getting tons of "Show ass" losers in her room. I think that, for the model, using that emote would be the better alternative to going crazy and screaming "BUY SOME TOKENS, YOU FREELOADER, OR SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!" (though I admit I'd LOL if a model said that)

And, just to clarify, I don't communicate with members using emotes only. Communicating ALL of your thoughts through emotes only is LAME and makes you look like you're incapable of using complete sentences...lol. I love to talk, but I sometimes think an occasional emote added to the convo wouldn't hurt. It could also come in handy with the guys who talk to you and claim they have no sound (so they expect you to type everything to them...lol).

I think the :tipcheap1 emote (Tip, you cheap motherfuckers!) is a much more classy way of asking for tips.

the best tip emotes are :tipee or :deerpark. Both are subtle and sensual and won't make you come off as a beggar.

Related, are the emotes that say, "RATE AND ADMIRE!!!" Guys who post those are usually the ones who never tip and believe that rating and admiring is somehow of equal value, especially, they think if done over and over, when in reality, rating and admiring is about as useful as a diaphragm for Renee Richards. Plus, the problem is, when that emote is used, it gives other members the same fallacious idea.

I dont know, I pay my rent in ratings. Don't all apartment managers take that? :P

I fucking hate those prats!

"Come on, guys. Rate and admire. Tip this lovely lady please"

Why don't you fuck off and maybe I will :?

I just smile and say thanks to the "I rated and admired you" guys, just in case they really are trying to be nice. But part of me is just waiting (5..4..3..2..1) for them to follow up with a "Now can I see your ass?" THEN that's my cue to be like "Um...you know rates and admires don't do anything for the cam score, right? Nice try..." LOL.

diaphragm for Renee Richards  Great reference, which I probably shouldn't admit to being old enough to get.

Question: I'd already worked out for myself that rate and admire is fairly worthless, but does it, in fact, do anything at all?

Agreed. Members don't like being given orders any more than models do. I try not to take it out on the model, but if one of these asses says something like this, I won't tip right then. If I was about to tip, I wait a few minutes after he shuts the fuck up, so it won't look like I was listening to him.

In a similar vein, I get the distinct impression that a lot of models will hold off on doing something they were planning to do if people are demanding they do it. For example, last night I was in a room, where the model teases and will usually show a little something in her own good time. The regulars all enjoy this and are perfectly happy with how she does things, but there were a bunch demanding idiots on the loose last night calling for her to show tits and ass, etc. She didn't, and I wouldn't have either in her position. I sure wanted to smack those morons around though.

Oooooh... I didn't know. Well, you learn something new every day.
I thought it was actually useful :icon-cry:

Can you sort models by rating? Nope. Camscore or number of people in room? Yes. And camscore is the default. So guess what's useful? Camscore. And as we should all know by now, camscore is simply tokens per hour, averaged over 60 days and multiplied by a scaling factor. So only tokens actually do anything.

Remember, anything that you do on a profile page only affects profile pages. The rating is only displayed there, nowhere else. Admirers? Same thing. Favorite models (aka profile friends)? Yep, once again they only affect profile pages. profiles.myfreecams.com is almost an entirely separate thing from www.myfreecams.com, except that a few items from your profile, such as your age/occupation/avatar carry over into the real site. Neither ratings nor admirers are among the things that carry over.
