Ok, so camming isn't really a concern because it's not like, script-reading acting. However, I'm feeling really stuck with making content ESPECIALLY customs.
How do you do it? Is everyone here just a fabulous actress? I feel like I could never ever do JOI, SPH, etc because it's sooo much talking. In a silent room. By yourself.

there's no requirement to do customs if you don't like them. They're great extra money but many camgirls don't feel comfortable doing them so don't feel obligated.

I think most porn is terribly acted honestly.

I don't consider myself a great actress by any means but guys buy and rave about the roleplaying clips and customs (even though I'm like 'omg I sound ridiculous' lol) so don't worry too deeply about it! No one is expecting a camgirl to be an award winning actress.

What has helped me is learning how to dirty talk better so it sounds a bit more natural and just genuinely have fun with it! I read a lot of clip descriptions on clips4sale for some tips on how to dirty talk. I will say that the more you do it-the easier it becomes.

Doing it a bunch of times makes it way easier. It's kinda cool how quick you get more comortable and improve! It also helps to pretend you're talking to someone.

I really wish I took drama in school..it might have been useful. :giggle:

You can also make content with no/minimal talking - fetish, strip tease, worship, etc.

Honestly, my SO loves dirty talk so I practice with him. I still can't seem to bring myself to record clips with cheesy dialogue because I feel SO awkward, but it's made privates easier.

Don't so much write yourself a script, but maybe consider the kinds of roles you would take on and how you would approach them. I compartmentalize roles much better when I have an outfit to roleplay with!

Also, with the brain fog brought on to viewers by being horny, I wouldn't stress too hard on being an Oscar winner.

So I took drama in highschool. It was my weak point. I sucked! So that was no help. But after a year of camming I have to say that coming up with diologue is a lot easier.

I have a regular that puts me on the spot all of the time in private and wants me to dirty talk. Finally I just googled dirty talk and wrote down a page of lines that I could easily apply to most situations and boom! It clicked.

The key is to say something in a sultry feminine voice. use lots of adjectives (description words)to describe both of your happy parts like hard, solid, thick, huge, wet, full, puffy, amazing. Throw in a lot of verbs to describe what is happening like horny suck, throbbing, stretching, shaking, filling, teasing.

I've been thinking about that hard cock of yours and how much I need it to satisfy me. I can't get it out of my mind. I want to put my wet mouth on your throbbing cock and suck you dry. Mm I love to feel your dick growing in my mouth. I can't wait to taste your spicy cum."

Ask them questions.. "mm you like the way that feels? I bet you want to explode in my mouth right now, hold off a little longer.. I'm having way too much fun! *Giggle* omg baby your shaking... You want to cum so bad don't you?"

tell them what you want them to do "I want you to blow that hot load in my mouth. I'm gonna swallow every last tasty drop. I know you have been waiting for this for a while.. you have definitely earned it for letting be play with this beautiful cock. Mmm yea that's right cum hard for me!! Ooh wow! That's was a lot!! Mm thank you! I needed that."

In this particular situation you will have a dildo in your mouth most of the time so it won't be to hard to fill at least 5 minutes with the dirty talk and sucking.
.
So you see there is a lot to be said for everything that you will film. Just be descriptive and creative. And you will do great!

Practice, practice, practice... the fantasy isn't about you, it is for someone else. Acting is exactly the same; a lot of work, you learn your lines and try to convince your audience that you mean it.
With the exception of a live performance, the feeling for the actor/ actress is usually quite an awkward one. It doesn't show as much as you think, especially if you can keep the rhythm of it flowing.

Never break your performance once you begin and if something goes wrong you must keep going with it until the end: Always assess your work after a performance never while in the middle of it.

Often the one ordering the custom will give clues to what type of language, feel or look that they like. Below is an order for a goddess worship custom, that I was considering asking for. Most of those ordering will try to make it easy for you.
Tie this lovely hair up to keep your perfect neckline exposed, I want to see your beauty. Choose a moment when you feel beautiful, turn that camera on and show me. I trust your choice of clothing, so long as you enjoy that look.

I love your long neckline, your tall slim figure, and your warm dark eyes.

Run your long lovely fingers over this flawless skin, dancing in delight until your knees weaken. Run your finger tips lightly over your collarbone and up over your neckline. Touch your sweet lips and around these cute ears imagining kisses; Undress only as you feel your body tight and turned on, only if you want to show more. Be strong, emotionally secure and generous, use your amazing body as a gift you choose to give, not a game.

Show me over your body at its most beautiful. I want a mixture of intense and subtle. Show me how to touch such beauty, make it feel wild, make it glow with pleasure, purr like a cat. By the end I want this warm skin glowing; these dark eyes shining with delight and that girly smile you just can't hide.

Use the camera to explore whatever view feels right, I enjoy slight side on views, full side on views, well done P.O.V. angles. Don't get stuck on any 'Barrel' views, they bore me. Have fun with it, and I will notice your beauty.

If it gets awkward, just fake it and keep moving on. If this happens don't progress forward until it feels right to do so.

During my most successful years when I vanilla cammed I wouldn't offer dirty talk, joi, or sph.

No real words during videos or sexytimes would leave these lips. If I was talking about a show I wouldn't even refer to it on a sexy way loool.

There is literally no requirement for you to do those things. You don't have to learn or do better if you don't want to because you will do fine. Focus on what you are good at and maybe in time as you get more comfortable you can add more to your vocal repitore gradually, or like never.

. You should just focus on your strong suit and everything else will be fine.Actually, I just make content that I know that I could do. For example, I could never do super vanilla shows or light GFE. However, I can play the femme fatale, vamp, dark lady, ice princess, and seductive witch/occult driven girlfriend without too much trouble. I make content based on what I can play and do :) My point is that you should just do what suits you and make you feel great doing it :)

I didn't even make clips until close to a year of camming for this very reason. I don't like not acting like myself. For a long while, it felt silly, and I'd often try to get my face off cam somehow simply so I wouldn't show how I was trying to suppress laughter. After a point, you build up enough confidence knowing that this is likely the only time you'll ever say this, and it's not like people on the street are gonna walk up to you and be like "Hey hey! Say it just like you said it in that private!" like you're some movie actor or something. Once your brain accepts that it doesn't feel as awkward, and honestly I've been surprised by how freaked out I was back when I started vs how now it rolls off my tongue without a script.

Eventually, after you've mastered the vanilla stuff you can dive into BDSM and one's that defy reality and physics completely!

Examples that I've personally done include:
  • Roleplay of being a housekeeper who blackmails her boss into giving her a raise and makes him cum in front of her in his wife's underwear.
  • Pretending you have mutant powers that cause the other person's senses to heighten as you "torment" them sexually.
  • Donning a nurse smock while explaining how you've just preformed gender-alternating surgery to a member.
  • Acting furious that you caught someone peeping in the locker room while you're dressed as a cheer leader, and doing the only obvious form of punishment for the situation...shrinking them down and threatening to sit on them.
^Had another one similar to this, but was a teacher who couldn't control her unruly gummy bear classroom. It was a grim ending for the gummy bears.
  • And much much more!
I love my job. :h:

Tip me 5000 tokens on MFC and I will train you in the methods of Stanislavski, Strasberg and Meisner. Your custom video making skills will fly through the roof.

Remember if you tip in the next hour, Mikey will throw in "how to squirt" for free!

Sorry I'm in a weird mood today. ^.^;

What is a barrel view? I google'd it and just got double barrel blowjobs. I thought I was familiar with porn before camming but I am still learning of new things every day.

I feel the same way as the OP when it comes to acting in privates and videos. I have never been a dirty talker but I am already getting more comfortable with basic dirty talk. I've avoided JOI, SPH and roleplays so far though! You ladies have given some great advice, thank you!

I think I will start recording myself trying to do JOI and roleplays as practice with no pressure to put them on a clip site yet. What really scares me about doing this kind of thing in privates is that it's off the cuff! If I can barely read a JOI script aloud to myself how can I improv and riff to put on a satisfying performance? I grew up studying music and dance, not acting.

Practice makes perfect. You can't get better at something if you don't try. Practice on yourself in the mirror, the more ridiculous the better. Try everything from sexy to silly and just keep doing it over and over until something clicks. Push yourself outside of your comfort zone and try scripts that don't fit how you see yourself.

If you want to expound your performing abilities, contact your local college/university/tech school or theater to see if they offer classes. Lots of state colleges and theaters offer classes to individuals for a nominal fee and they teach everything from public speaking (helpful when filming) to performing methods and theater history. Just because it's not sex related specifically, doesn't mean it's not useful.

Practice a non-sexual script until you perfect it, then make yourself a dirty talk ad lib to use in place of scripts when filming. Once you've got a go-to cache of usable dirty words then you can mix and match at whim until your videos seem fluid and natural. Browsing around the best selling videos on clip sites is also a good way to see what types of things you can use. Buy a video or two from a best selling list to see what works for them and what you could practice to help you improve. You could even buy a video and watch it ad nauseum until you can recite it from memory to help polish your own game, just don't copy it and sell it as your own! That would be hella rude and just bad manners all around.

The more you know, the more you grow.

This is deplorable advice. Really. If we never tried things outside of our comfort zones we would never get better at things we're terrible at. This is like eating the same meal for every meal for the rest of your life and never adding any salt of pepper, just plain, bland, stale Wonder Bread.

To everyone else:
You CAN do things that you're not good at or aren't your preferred script, you just choose not to. There's a difference. Telling someone new to never try anything they think they may be bad at is just awful advice setting them up for failure. That's not to say I'm suggesting you break your hard limits, just don't limit yourself to something so confining and depressing. You don't know what you're good at or will enjoy unless you try it. You may make the meanest damn Stepford Wife sadist or the sweetest sensual Princess, but you won't know if you don't get the fuck out of the closet once in awhile. Push yourself and try something new. Look at the top studios and you'll see that it's extraordinarily rare to get away with only filming one or two things forever. Variety is the spice of life. Go cook yourself into a delicious dish that isn't boring and restrictive.

Oh man. When I was a cam kitten I remember being so afraid of doing all sorts of shows/videos.
Small penis humiliation? How horrible!
Now I'm like, whip out that little maggot so we can get this show started, I've got shit to do loser.

If you really don't want to try something you find distressing, don't push yourself because you see others doing it. But don't write off doing things because they seem hard or new. I imagine few of us are still selling our first videos. (I know I'm not!)

Buy some clips and practice saying the same things they do until it's comfortable (or at least not horribly awkward). Then write your own material. You'll get it.

This is me to a tee and I agree!

... oui oui

I have to disagree because not every sex worker is good at everything. Not every sex worker is going to be great at every fetish that we try and our main objective is to making money. It is better to make money at stuff they we are good at first. Then we can explore the possibilities later after we gain more confident in our abilities. Sex work can be creative but it is a business above everything else. Sex work's main objective is always to make money and sometimes it best to stick to what you do in order to make the maximum amount of money. In addition, I never said not try different fetishes but I said it would be best for the OP to stick to what she knows until she gain more confident in her abilities.I am just being a realist about everything and not sugar coat anything. :) Agree to disagree.

If you aren't smart enough to finance your bottom line while bettering yourself, that's on you. Millionaires weren't made by only doing one thing they were good at forever.

Encouraging a model to not feel pressured to go outside her comfort zones is not deplorable in the least. If the op WANTS badly to do those things then right on but if not... I would never advise a performer to do something they are not comfortable with just because they think they have to, or because everyone else does it.
That's the fast track to burn out

Also if you're brand new to making content -- start with what's comfortable. This isn't someone who's been making clips for years and is wondering why they're not seeing growth. I actually wish I'd started slower rather than doing everything I thought I had to do. I ended up deleting a lot of older videos where it was obvious I had no clue what I was doing. You could harm your brand in the long run by making content that sucks because you felt obligated to do everything immediately.

Also a lot of popular models and clip makers stay within the same themes and types of videos. Some people find a specific niche and it works, some people do better being a jack-of-all-trades.

Um, I didn't see this tip so...read erotica. Anything you like, it doesn't matter. Once you can visualize a scenario in your head, or a partner, then just talk about how you are feeling, and ask them general questions on "if they like it".

Srsly tho, my two tips are play DnD or other tabletop rpgs (no, I'm not joking lol) and read erotica.

Not things you are uncomfortable with, I'm encouraging to try new things or polish things you aren't fabulous at. My original post did say don't break your hard limits.

Any suggestions for a good Literotica website? I used to visit one ages ago that had a lot of amateur writers. It was great mind blowing stuff. But I can't remember the website.

Aww tha
I would say that you can find some free or cheap erotica on Smashwords. :) It is a pretty good site for full of amateur writers. You can also try lushstories as well :)
Aww thanks. I haven't heard of either of those. I will check them out.
