And if so, what's ROUGHLY an AVERAGE, GUIDELINE for how long, at MINIMUM, it typically could be before you expect to be? I know everybody is going to be different!!! I know this!!! I'm merely asking for super-rough guesstimates!

Asking because: Being outed would suck because I LOOOOOOOVE privacy. As far as situations go with family and friends, though, I don't have much to worry about.

What I WOULD worry about, with them, though, is IF I'm going to be outed, I DON'T want it to be while I'm going through the mental health crisis I'm in. That would fuck everything up even more.

Due to disabilities and whatnot, I feel camming is my only option right now (Please don't send me work from home links or moonlighting or odd jobs links, I've already looked at them) soo yeahhhh :/

ANOTHER BIG THING IS: Eventually I want to travel. Call me crazy and I know most won't agree, but eventually I'd like to visit North Korea, and if I were to get too recognizable I fear that I will have to give up my dream (due to the fact that I don't know if they'll kill my ass or not. It's not like I did the porn IN their country.. so I just don't know)

I've cammed here and there but have never really gave a full commitment. Due to my self esteem I want to find something else to do first, but I've lost many vanilla jobs and just kind of suck at holding them :/ I have no problem with giving camming a full commitment once I have full confidence, though.

Everybody is going to have a different answer for this. Some will go their whole careers and never be outed, others will have it happen within weeks or months. I sold pics/vids online for years but within 6 months of camming I was outed. Maybe if I had blocked my state it would of lasted a little longer, but even with that precaution in place there is no guarantee. A lot of cam shows are capped and then put on tube sites like pornhub or xvideo and from there anybody can seem. Other options to keep you under the radar would be to do your makeup different than everyday life and maybe wear a wig if its something you really want to try to prevent. Otherwise just start mentally preparing for if/when it does happen.

A lot of us subsidize our incomes with clips or phone while not camming so you may also want to look into sites like manyvids (vanilla clips), clips4sale (fetish clips) or Iwantclips (fem/fin dom clips). There are plenty of other clips sites out there but these seem to be the main 3 right now and they cover pretty much everything you can think of. Phone sex is another great option so also check out niteflirt.

While I have no knowledge of what would happen if you did visit north korea, traveling and camming/clip/phone all go well with traveling. The great thing is you can work from anywhere as long as you have an internet connection. Obvs you don't want to work in places that it is illegal but there are plenty of perfectly good options to visit where this work would not get you thrown in jail.

I've been camming for 2+ years and I have not been outed yet. ::crosses all fingers and toes:: Although, I have suspicions that people I haven't told know, but it is what it is. I have my entire state, and my hometown blocked. My closest friends know, but none of my family, and if they do- they haven't said anything. I have been pirated, and tried to fight it with dcma, but it just kept popping up. I was pirated and on 5 tube sites within 6 months of camming. I found out because a member of the site I'm on messaged me with a link. When I search my cam name, it is buried under a lot of other stuff so far, I hope it stays that way.

I figure, what I do is a legal, taxed job. I have mental health and physical health issues that have prevented me from being able to hold a job in the field that I have worked in my whole life. If anyone i know has an issue with how I legally pay my bills, I'll gladly let them pay lol. If anyone wants to out me, I - an adult who minds my own business, to my very conservative family- I figure that says way more about them than me. I have a couple vindictive exes, so it is always an anxiety for me, but the ability to work hours that are convenient for my mental and physical health, while paying my bills logically outweighs it.

Don't bet too heavily they won't for any other reason. I'm not over familiar with what gets people killed in North Korea or how big the secret police are but I've heard stories of huge international figures going missing for days at a time in totalitarian countries. They only got released because it would there would be such huge repercussions.

In North Korea, possession of pornography is punishable by death. https://wikitravel.org/en/North_Korea#Banned_items

I've heard of some people getting outed withing a day of webcamming.

I've never been outed and I've been doing it inconsistently for 4 years or so now.

Is it inevitable? Yes. It is. Does that mean it will happen? No. But it's safe to expect it to. I think the odds of being outed are pretty much almost guaranteed, never getting outed is simply by luck but for the most part it's just a matter of time.

If it's going to bring you any sort of mental anguish then I'd suggest working on your mental health first, re-evaluating your values or just don't do it.

I got outed after going viral. Was coming for 4 years.

I started camming 3 years ago. Took some time off to get married and have a kid and what not, then came back a year ago. I have not been outed yet. I basically live like the chances of me being outed eventually are 100%. It may not happen, but I’d rather be prepared for it definitely happening than be completely caught off guard.

Something I kept seeing a lot was people from your RL finding out by accident. I opted instead to be up-front about what I'm doing, although I described it to my parents and sister as, "I'm talking to lonely guys on webcam for money." I added, "Some girls choose to take their clothes off, but you don't have to." They just assumed (incorrectly) that i would be in the non-nude category.

My parents took it well and thought it was cool I could make money do that, and even helped out with buying some of the stuff I need like a webcam and bras (because I don't own any; I don't normally wear them). I decided to go this route because I know my folks would pick up on it if I were too evasive about what exactly I did. And they are really good at telling if I'm lying, so trying to tell them I do something entirely different would have been far more stressful.

However, for the reverse issue of a client finding out your RL information... that I am afraid I have no suggestions there except to pray it doesn't happen.

Yeah, that does seem rather quirky and eccentric. Kinda reads like you might be wanting a poster to inquire into your reasoning behind going there so I'll say I'm curious if you feel like sharing. If things do go south for whatever reason on your guided tour, you probably don't have to worry about them killing you. How accommodating they will become at finding you new jobs may be strangely concerning. Like really, really accommodating at helping you find work but downright useless about finding you food will probably seem odd. Starvation will likely be a bigger threat than any person.

If you do decide to give up on the dream or simply play it safe and err on the side of caution, a holiday in Cambodia might be of some interest to you. Sorry for going off topic and I don't intend to pry if you aren't interested in sharing your thoughts. Good luck and safe travels with whatever you decide on doing.

I did not advertise my camming but I accepted and expected to be outted early on. I got doxed 9 months after I started, which turned out to be a great way to cut lots of 'friends' out of my life.

People use VPN's which makes Geo Blocking useless. You will get outed; when?? no idea. It took 3 years for me - there were people who found me before the 3 years. If this is an issue AT all do not get into the sex work industry.

As someone that's ACTUALLY been to North Korea I will tell you the moment you get to the hotel the government is digging into everything in your past. Depending on their relationship with your country of origin determines if they feel they want to use you as an example or bargaining chip. You don't have to do anything WRONG inside their country for them to detain you and imply you're there promoting the WRONG thing. I remember one person I was with was very religious and has tons of social media 'activism'. They would have random people come up to that person and ask if they could get a bible from him (he didn't bring anything religious we were there as attache for group). I mean on the hour, someone would tempt him to open up or speak on religion where he started to stay in the hotel because it was clear they wanted to detain him.

This was almost a decade ago but still food for thought.

I've been camming consistently for over 4 years and have not been discovered by any family or friends (to my knowledge). That's not to say I won't be eventually, but I think my chances of keeping my privacy are pretty good at this point. I know some say being outed inevitable; I don't necessarily agree. But obviously you should go into camming accepting that there's a good chance it will happen.

I guess then, don't give your porn/camming name when arranging a travel visa to North Korea, and you'll be ok. Don't have porn/cam things linked to your real, legal name. Don't use cute pictures of yourself for your cam profile and also for facebook. Be careful with social media...

I would be impressed if, as a cam girl, North Koreans recognized you. They don't even have internet access, I think! Just don't ever make content denouncing NK or its leaders. No scat clips featuring pictures of the Dear Leader...

Haha I was thinking the same thing, but whenever it is that I go, I plan on being very modest, to the point that if somebody found any kind of suspicious material of me, probably one officer would say to the other officer "I don't think that's the same person" Oh I guess it helps to mention I'm also planning on doing a social media detox whilst losing weight:p

Keyword in.

Yeah I'm gonna make myself to vanilla first *rolls eyes* lol- for the past 3 years I keep doing this shit where I'll open and delete open and delete open and delete accounts, keep them open for several months whilst not even using them for more than maybe a week in a row at most??? (rough guesstimate) because it makes me feel too dirty ugh, obviously no offense to anybody on here!!! lol it's just a personal mental thing with me right now :(

I've had several twitter accounts POPPPPPPPING though, and have done clips but I think I only have like 15 up on each site right now but they're barely getting any sales, and it's been up for about the full 3 years now? And never once have reached payout

If only my mental health was better...

Like the other day I streamed on streamate for several hours, made only 1 buck and some cents, and havent logged back since. But also wouldn't be surprised if I streamed tonight. This is the shit I've been doing ughh

Edit: I did not mean to quote everyone with no response obnoxiously. I prematurely sent my post. I'll add the rest of my responses later

You should probably wait till you have your morals and mental health in order before you do this.

Because unless you go full into it you're not going to make much and it's just going to make you feel bad.

You have to understand this is a government with a very modern intelligence agency. Don't think for a moment they have no technical abilities. They run successful cyber attacks even against the US and have developed a nuclear weapon through spying and reverse engineering. They aren't asking farmer john to google you, it's more like the CIA bringing everything to bear against you. Like any other country they have spies and equipment in other countries to check you out before.

Again it comes down to if you're of interest to them. I wouldn't know if a camgirl would be someone they could use for political pressure but they most likely know you're a camgirl for sure. They will do their homework on you. Also my experience was a decade ago for me when NK would more commonly try to jail some Americans as pawns in concession talks. Now with actual talks between them and south korea maybe how they go looking into foreigners has cooled down a bit.

A lot the success in camming comes from being consistent and building up a following over time, so I wouldn't expect to make a lot of money appearing for a few days and then disappearing only to reappear with a new account on another day weeks/months later for another day of camming.

It sounds like you still have to figure out whether you really want to do this and if so whether you can make a longer-term commitment in order to be successful.

because it makes me feel too dirty ugh,

Then don't do it. Camming isn't for everyone, and it sounds like it's definitely not a good fit for you.
