Hi...first visit to the forum so not sure this is in the right place or even if I'm allowed to ask this question!

I'm on holiday in Constanta Romania with a 'model friend'..she wanted to log on to MFC and 'chat'

She is able to log on to her account but when ever she tries to turn her cam on she gets this message.

You have been disconnected from MyFreeCams servers.

Your account may have logged in from a different location, or MFC Servers may be restarting.
Contact MFC Support if you continue to get disconnected.

I understand that MFC is 'illegal' in Romania, but how do other models log on when away from home.

She is trying to log on from my laptop..does that make any difference?

Just out of interest she has old accounts at Jasmine..imlive and a few others...she is able to log on there, but not on MFC!

I/she mailed MFC but they were as good as useless...just a stock answer..restart laptop/modem..contact ISP.

I also tried to log on to my prem account but couldn't do so...even proxy servers wont load....hidemyass...hotspot stc.

I have set up a new account for her in the hope that when it is approved it will be from 'this location' and the IP addy will be accepted!

Any ideas?

Hope that all makes sense!

MFC has security in place to prevent models from having their accounts hacked, etc. She should be able to email support and prove her identity and be able to log in.

You can't just create a new account for someone that already has an account, btw. No model is supposed to have two accounts, it's considered cheating.

I think he's talking about premium accounts, not model accounts

I'm pretty sure he's talking about a model.

Also, something I just thought of 56cheffy, if she's trying to log in using your laptop, that might be an issue.

I am talking about a model not a prem account (even though I can't log on with my prem account) and yes she's trying to log on with my laptop with originates from UK (would that matter?)
Regarding 2 accounts or more..Lots of models suddenly appear with a new name, do they delete the old accounts then?
Thanks...

It's probably got something to do with two separate accounts attempting to log in from the same connection. Idk though because I'm just a model, not tech support.

As far as 2 accounts there are girls that switch from a studio to an independent account and MFC says that's okay since they're leaving their old account. Otherwise those models are just changing their screen names, we can do it multiple times a day if we want to.

"Cheating" or not, some models do have multiple accounts as well as separately set up prem accounts. Most of the time tho it is indeed simply a nic change on the same account. Members can also do this after a reward point level has been reached.

I know models that travel and log in fine with borrowed laptops. MFC is aware tho that their location does change. If she drops mfc a mail they can most likely fix it pretty quick. Same for your account.. your resident location is different. Mail them and tell them you are traveling.

You said you can access other sites like LJ so its most likely not a hotel block for mfc. :thumbleft:

Admin got back to her with this.

Please send us the results of a traceroute from your machine back to www.myfreecams.com so that we can better troubleshoot your issue.

Managed to figure out how to do that..now just waiting on the outcome.

It's been 3 days and they didn't have a solution yet!

I'm sure this don't happen to TOP models and if it did it would be sorted ASAP.

56cheffy, it sounds crappy to say, but businesses to tend to give priority customer support to their highest earning contracts. If a top model misses out on 3 days of work, she could lose them thousands of dollars. If an average model misses out on 3 days of work, she might lose MFC three or four hundred dollars.

Also, while we love our admins, MFC is generally not known for its sterling customer support.

If they're asking you for a traceroute then it's probably not anything MFC is doing, and they're wondering if it's blocked somewhere along the route between you and their server.

Sent the trace report 12 hours ago...no reply....

Jupiter.....I was thinking along the same lines.....and my laptop has gone 'nuts' since I was in Romania...can't log on to MFC...Hotspotshield and other proxys wont load......Chrome kept crashing....decided to re-install it, bad news it's now re-installed, but in Romanian!

Got a reply.

Hotel wireless often blocks ports. We may use ports that other sites do not, we do not know.

We do not see any issues with your trace, and our site is operating normally.

We've signed on to your account for a moment, and we've started our cam without any issue, so your account is working.

No 'work' for her for a week or so...looks like the holiday is gonna cost me more in compensation!

Whelp, that solves it. If we had known you were in a hotel we all would have likely answered this already. Many hotels block any kind of streaming because it takes such a large amount of bandwidth.

 Did I forget to mention that?

Just out of interest..would it work if she bought one of those USB/3G 'dongles'?

I assume so, if you're using a prepaid 3g stick the hotel certainly won't be blocking you
