MFC Contact Info

A model friend is having problems with MFC bandwith and at best gets 200KB per second. Who can she contact for help? Any other suggestions??

Um, it's kind of computer tech-y, but if she knows a computer nerd then she could ask them to go and increase the reservable bandwidth on the QoS packet scheduler in the computer networking properties. It more or less increases the buffer of incoming/outgoing packets which allow for a faster connection as the browser can download more data at once.

I'm saying she should ask a nerdy friend because it fiddles with the registry and you don't want to click on the wrong thing. :whistle:

Have her go to speedtest.net and test to see if it's her end. Sometimes a model gets a bad server and her bandwidth will be at 200 for no reason, but other than that, it's probably her ISP. Also, if she keeps her network meeter open it'll help her a lot.

You don't have to use the one in your Task Manager, you could use a gadget or your performance meter on Windows.

The MFC contact information is listed all over their wiki, but make sure she keeps her email short and to the point with her model name in the subject.
