Dear Models and Members of ACF,

Belated Merry Christmas to you all.

I would like to introduce you the beta launch of our new service: monAmie.live, for which we're currently looking for up to 1-2 dozens of models to be our beta users/testers. We're a young startup enabling adult content creators to offer pay-per-minute livestreams from the convenience of your mobile browser. My name is Berk (Linkedin), founder of monAmie.live, I’ll provide a little more info about myself later below, but would like to start with why I’ve created monAmie.live and how it can help you.

monAmie.live gives you a new dimension of freedom: livestreaming anywhere, anytime from the convenience of a mobile browser. With the addition of our new feature; subscription to video/photos in January/February 2018, we are planning to do a full public launch. To make an analogy with the services you may be already familiar with: it'll be a combination of Skyprivate (but from mobile browser, no apps, installs or extensions) and Onlyfans (but fully adult compliant and with chargeback protection).

Use case is more relevant for content creators with a larger dedicated audience or with at least a few regulars or for those of you who would like to slowly build their monthly recurring revenue base by uploading a few photos and short videos each week for followers to subscribe. We:
  • provide you a fresh, mobile-first design with the look and feel of your and your customers' day-to-day apps
  • offer best-in-class payouts through a lean and agile organisation: 80% revenue share with chargeback protection
  • listen and encourage you to provide critique and suggest new ideas and request features that you believe will help you the most

Our goal is to provide you one-stop-shop for pay-per-minute livestreams from mobile and subscription to exclusive mobile-optimized content, and develop many more features at the speed we can catch up with your requests with our currently small, but young and energetic team.

Please see below how our service compares to other providers and our roadmap:
upload_2017-12-26_17-40-37.png

We're not claiming to be the best at everything, we have a long way to go, have a creative roadmap to develop, and hopefully will be able to provide a differentiated and attractive use case for everyone to give it a try soon enough.

You can create a "Content Creator" account at https://creator.monamie.live now in just a few minutes. Hope you can help us steer the direction where we will go in the mid- and long-term. As a token of appreciation, we'll do a small lottery among the beta users before public launch to gift a high-end Samsung S8 phone, that you'll hopefully use with monAmie.live. If our service (incl. roadmap) sounds like something you wold like to use, I'm open to do pre-payments as well, as I understand that tying some of your income to our platform could be perceived as high-risk because no one is familiar with monAmie.live yet.
In addition, you will gain bragging rights that you believed in us before everyone joined the band wagon.

Happy to provide more clarifications on this thread, per DM, on our support channel/email, livechat widget at our website, skype, etc.

Cheers,
Berk

-----------------------------------------------------

Keep on reading for more details below:
  • Earnings: 80% revenue share with chargeback protection
  • Payouts: weekly payouts Monday-Sunday (GMT) with $50 minimum transfer limit (we're not open to feedback on this) with 10-14 days delay (our payment provider pays us each week on Friday for the previous week, then we can pay Mon-Tue of the following week and it might take a few more days to be transferred to you). The payouts are free for SEPA (EUR) payments, US (ACH transfer), and if this feature is requested heavily also Paxum (currently not implemented, but not difficult to do so). Transfer costs to other regions/currencies we support are around $2.5 per transfer (https://monamielive.freshdesk.com/solution/articles/33000201632-how-do-i-get-paid-) which we are planning to remove once the platform scales
  • User payments: payment pages are responsive and very simple. This is powered by SecurionPay which works great with adult entertainment requirements
  • Current version works on android phones, desktops, windows laptops and macbooks (Chrome/Firefox as browser, not Safari); however, the UI is optimized for mobile only and desktops will be blocked from access until public launch. Livestreams from and to iOS will be supported by February 2018. Subscriptions will be supported already by January.

How it works:
  • Livestreams: We have a "how-it-works" section at the website as well, but the summary is that the users can add funds to their accounts via a credit card (which they can use to re-add funds even mid-session), and pay for the livestream session on a pay-per-minute basis, deducted from their balance. They can A) book a session in advance if the content creator is offline, B) can request a session if the content creator is logged in but not live, or 3) directly join an existing livestream.
  • Subscriptions: more on this when we launch the feature, but it'll be a subscription service to your videos/photos/livestream-specials billed monthly to the client until they cancel. Your videos/photos will be deleted after 30 days, so that new subscribers won't have access to the whole historical content from day one.

As promised, a bit more about myself and the legal entity:
I come from the "mainstream" industry having started my career as an electronics engineer with a masters degree in communication systems and have been working on mobile video technologies since 2005. I turned into startup advisory 7 years ago and have been working as an investment banker for technology startups. I founded the operator of monAmie.live, Fluxi Technologies (http://fluxi-technologies.com/), in Estonia, birthplace to numerous known startups such as Skype and Transferwise, to be able to run a global business in a trusted EU environment which is 100% digital (https://e-estonia.com/). I'll be the main guy facing all client communications for a long time. If you click https://monamielive.freshdesk.com/ or send an email to support@monamie.live , I'll be answering your questions/concerns. I'm joined at the moment by three developers, one designer, two part-time advisors and we've been working on monAmie.live since more than a year. We're to be joined by an experienced marketer in adult entertainment around the time of public launch. Looking forward to the exciting times ahead.

Can I just say, love the transparency, Berk. Question, do you plan on having the option of pay per item in the future? I do like that videos are no longer available after 30 days with subscriptions.

Hi AudriTwo,

Thanks for the interest and being the first one the join the conversation.

Pay-per-item: short answer is not before March 2018.
We've given this a lot of thought and decided that it's not a priority for the next couple of development sprints. Once we have the subscription, it's not a rocket science to do it, but it would complicate things on the chargeback side.
The way we see it is; 1) if someone bought credits on their monAmie.live account and was not happy with the livestream session, either we are to blame or we share the blame; 2) if someone subscribed to a content creator and makes a chargeback after a few months, then maybe our terms were not transparent enough about the service or we did a poor job in notifications, etc. So, in both cases, we believe that it's our duty to take care of the chargebacks. However, in a pay-per-item scenario, someone can go on a buying spree and then make a chargeback on all those items. There, we have little control over the quality of the service/content. Not totally against it, but our initial feeling was that the economics might not work while we assume the chargebacks. And we didn't want to start with "we cover your chargebacks" and put some fineprint somewhere that "we do not cover your chargebacks if this and that". In addition, there are some honest and competent guys around who specialize in pay-per-items and do a much better job at it, such as IndieBill. Depending on the size of the transaction they also offer better revenue share since they have a different model. That being said, if this kind of request comes from an increasing number of content creators, then we'll gladly build it, probably limiting the maximum selling price at the beginning.

30day expiry period:
We thought it would be more suitable for cam models to delete the content after a certain period. Compared to adult actresses who probably have 100s of videos around the web, we thought you wouldn't like someone to access your whole years of archive from day one of a $5-15 monthly subscription. On the flip side, this also puts some pressure on the content creator. If a subscriber does not receive any photos/videos during the 30 day period and asks for a payback, we believe it's only fair to give them the payback and deduct it from the content creator because the content creator didn't deliver any content for the month of subscription. We'll monitor this manually at the beginning, but planning to put some automated systems in the future, where you can manage your time on extended breaks from content uploads more effectively. We also prefer to have this expiry period to have a more semi-live content feeling which gets updated freshly for our end-users as opposed to subscribing to an old album.

Let me know if you have any further questions or would like to give it a try at https://creator.monamie.live/

Cheers,
Berk

Wow.

It's like butter on my soul to see a post about a service for us to use that willingly gives out so much information before being asked. You even put your linkedin *faints*

I will probably have some questions about this that I'll come back with, but seems interesting and very well thought out at first glance.

Agreed that this is amazingly well done in terms of transparency and the tone of the posts. Professionalism, what a breath of fresh air. I'll also have to think of questions, but OP, you've already done fantastic compared to most who come here to try to sell us on their sites. Good job. Most of those guys are secretive and opaque.

The site is lovely, even from the awful brick of an iPhone 5s, everything seems to run smooth. The filters are great, the transparency on your end is also fantastic. As far as uploads go, will there be any tools on the models' end to help optimize content for mobile subscribers, or will it all work in-site, if that makes any sense in my decaffeinated state?

Looking forward to seeing how MonAmie develops!

Hi Ivy Adams, hi ExcellaExe, hi IndySolo,

Thanks for the kind of words. Frankly, I was afraid that the post was getting lost in the holiday season's hectic. Glad that it reached at least a couple of eyes.

Please keep in mind that the current functionality is only a portion of what will be available in February. We've kept busy during Christmas and are on schedule to add the subscriptions by January and the iOS livestreams by February. The general look and feel will be the same of course.

IndySolo,
we're automatically optimizing all content on the go before storing on AWS. So, the content will be optimized in terms of bandwidth and codec requirements. Apart from that, there are no extra processing options available to the content creator at this point. Later we can add cropping, rotating, and further processing options. Again, not too difficult to implement, but we'll have to see how we prioritize. Optimum content upload and delivery was the first goal and we're close to achieving it.
Hope this kind of answer was what you had in mind.

Wish you a happy new year and already a speedy recovery if you're up for a big celebration.
Your monAmie.live team

Hi folks,

As promised in our roadmap chart in the first intro email, we’ve been busy adding the subscription feature during January which we can now proudly present. It’s up and running, and you can start building your recurring, monthly subscription revenues for mobile optimized content by signing up at https://creator.monamie.live/.

Having said that, monamie.live's official launch is still around a month away when we can offer the same quality of livestreams from iOS devices as our Android solution.

To remind you of our goal; we’re aiming to provide a “mobile-first one-stop-shop for content monetization”:
  1. Pay-per-minute livestreams from mobile browser
    • Description: this is the main pillar of our platform which allows you to provide pay-per-minute livestreams from your mobile.
    • Timing: this feature is already live for Android phones. We’re putting all our effort during February to iron out issues for iOS which we expect to take about a month. We will not roll it out on iOS devices before it works as flawlessly as our Android solution.
    • Similar services / use cases and our differentiation: use case is very similar to SkyPrivate where the user/member can schedule a livestream session in advance or request a session while the content creator is available on our platform. Our difference is that you can livestream from your phone and you don’t have to install anything on your phone; you can even login in incognito mode and once you close your browser, there will be no trace of you having such account on your phone. You can also start broadcasting to tease your audience/followers, but given the 80% revenue share and our business model, there won’t be enough traffic to support liveshows monetized by tips (like the token sites) in the mid-term future despite this being technically possible in our platform.
  2. Subscription to mobile-optimized content
    • Description: content creators upload images and videos directly from their mobiles to their private galleries in our secure cloud for users to subscribe for a monthly fixed fee which gets renewed until either the user signs out or the content creator stops uploading new content for over a month
    • Timing: Just out from of the oven, we’ve rolled out this update today.
    • Similar services / use cases and our differentiation: Our subscription service is very similar to OnlyFans. What we do a bit different is that we only keep the images/videos for 30 days in our platform and again do everything from the browser, no app (which might eventually get banned on Appstores) is required. We believe this solution is more suitable for independent cam models (who don't want a user to get access to years of contents with the first monthly subscription fee of around $10) in contrast to pornstars (who don't mind having 100s of videos directly accessible and have a different follower base who already has access to tons of their content for free).
  3. Pay-per-item content sales
    • Description: this feature has been requested by some of the models already and although initially on lower priority for our development, we decided to put this on faster track and would be interested to learn how you would prefer to use such feature.
    • Timing: we can focus on this feature earliest during the second quarter of this year.
    • Similar services / use cases and our differentiation: similar to regular clipsale sites. Although we'll have our special take on this to make it more modern and mobile-focused once we can focus on it. Your input and feature requests are very welcome at this stage.

See below the update to our product/feature portfolio and roadmap. Again, more than happy to answer your questions, hear your advice and suggestions, and keep the dialogue going. And hopefully see some of you signing up on our platform even before the official launch, since except the iOS support, everything else is up and running and ready to support you in monetizing your content from a single platform.

Cheers,
Berk

This sounds super interesting! Is it possible for me to sign up now even though the launch is not for another month as you said?

Hi KitttyBlue, absolutely. We would love to hear your feedback; what you liked, where we can improve upon, what was confusing or a no-go.

You can create your account within minutes here: creator.monamie.live. This account will not be open to public until you verify your age and payout details. You can change your profile picture, public gallery, avatar, schedule, personal details, tags, etc., no one except you will see the profile. Once you are ready to earn money on our platform, we’ll trigger an age verification screen and ask for payout details afterwards. This means:
A.) the first time you press the livestream button, or
B.) the first time you try to upload content to your private subscription gallery
through one of the below two screens:
A.) 1.png B.)2.png

You’ll be asked to verify your age via this screen
3.png

which then asks you to either take a picture of your ID document or upload from your stored files or by last resort manually enter the codes in your ID.
4.png

The age verification is done via software and we don’t judge anyone by the socially normalized aesthetic standards as long as we can verify that your identity document is not falsified and you’re of legal age. We don’t even store the picture of your ID, only a report from our technology supplier with main details and the analysis of the validity of extracted information. Please see below how the report of my identity document looks on our admin panel.
5.png

Finally, you’ll be asked to enter your payout preferences. If you only want to try things out, you can put here dummy data, which I really don’t suggest, because we cannot make the payment that way. For more detail you can check the FAQs, which I must admit are only rudimentary at this point, but can tell you where we can make payments to and the associated costs. Spoiler alert: it’s free for most of Europe (incl. SEPA countries which are not EU) and the US.
6.png 7.png

It sounds like a lot of steps, but if you have your documents ready, it would take less than 5min to activate your account, make it public, and start inviting followers to your subscription only gallery or allow people to book/request liveshows that you can perform from your mobile browser (Chrome or Firefox on Android so far. Lack of reliable Safari on iOS streaming is the reason we still need another month to go full public launch).

BTW, we didn’t fully communicate another monetization feature yet, but the subscribers to your private gallery will get to send private messages to you for no additional costs, whereas the regular users will have to pay $0.20 for each private message. Would be great to hear what you think about the pricing for private messages; too much, too little, about right? This feature is already live.

We’ll also build a dedicated channel for each content creator (like your private “reddit – AMA” channel), so that you can have an asynchronous groupchat channel instead of commenting on your pictures, to promote the community feeling.

Let me know what else I can help you with, and have a happy and prosperous weekend.

Cheers,
Your monAmie.live team

so I am trying to type in my payment info and it wont let me save because it says that my routing number needs to be "minimum 9 digits" and it is but it wont let me save. when i add an arbitrary digit it will let me save. weird

Has anyone from ACF actually broadcasted on this site? I have already reported the bugs I found and a couple others through the support part of the site, but I am cursious to see what other girls' experiences are.

Hi Feyonce,

I've replied to you on support just now. Just in case it's quicker for you here (without getting into detail):

so I am trying to type in my payment info and it wont let me save because it says that my routing number needs to be "minimum 9 digits" and it is but it wont let me save. when i add an arbitrary digit it will let me save. weird
=> the routing number you've saved on our platform is indeed 9 digits.

Has anyone from ACF actually broadcasted on this site? I have already reported the bugs I found and a couple others through the support part of the site, but I am cursious to see what other girls' experiences are.
=> About the bug with age verification:
Age verification is not triggered when you upload photos to your public gallery. See example screenshot below
Screenshot_20180209-122727.png

Age verification is triggered when you try to upload a picture or video for the first time to your subscription gallery.
Screenshot_20180209-122830.png

The reason behind this differentiation between public and subscription galleries was following:
- We only make your profile public, once you pass the age verification. Until then, you can play around and complete your profile, change a few things, make sure you have your best pictures on the profile page, get a bit more familiar with the platform, etc.
- We ask you to verify your age and make your profile public, only when you're ready to earn money on our platform. This can be done by, either livestreams or subscription to your private subscription gallery. That's why we trigger the age verification only on the first content upload to the subscription gallery.

Hope, this helps you getting your account verified, and looking forward to have you on board. If anything else troubles you, I'm available to help on support channel as well. Sorry, I'm not always online, and we have a time difference since I'm located in Europe, but I'll try my best to answer all your questions ASAP.

Cheers,

Dear Feyonce,

I can also provide some information concerning your last comment about other models' livestreaming experience on monAmie.live. Obviously it would be much better if others can share their experience, but here's what we can track: we have 6 signups during February who created a full profile, just like you did. However we don't have anyone who has completed the age verification yet. This means, no one made any livestreams yet.

For those who signed up but didn't complete the age verification step yet:

1) Did you try to do it and it didn't work due to
  • 1.a) technical problems from our side (f.i. file not uploading);
  • 1.b) not compatible identification document (f.i. old passport, or maybe unsupported country);
  • 1.c) document not verified by our id-checking technology supplier (i.e. your document was denied as viable identification or marked as falsified)?
=> Could you describe your experience in our support channel or private message here?

2) Did you find it too confusing how to do this or you didn't take an action that would trigger this step yet?
=> I've tried to explain this in previous posts in detail, maybe it's still not hat intuitive as we would have liked it to be. How can we improve this?

3) Do you not feel comfortable enough to upload your identification document to our platform yet?
=> How can we provide more comfort?

If you have few minutes of spare time, your feedback here or on support (the chatbox on the bottom-left corner of your profile) would be highly appreciated.

Cheers,
Your monAmie.live team

@monAmie thank you for your quick response via the app. As soon as you guys give the update, I look forward to livestreaming and trying it out.

Hi,

@Feyonce
Update... I streamed live earlier today! Anyone else got on?
Thanks for trying it out. Now that we have content creators signing up, maybe it's a good time to explain how we envisioned our platform to be used. You can than share your thought whether it makes sens for you or how you would like it to be changed.

First a few things to admit upfront:
  • Unfortunate but true: we don't have any traffic or any members at this point yet
  • Why we don't have any traffic yet: we don't believe it would make sense to start inviting members when there are less than a handful accounts to subscribe to or request livestreams from. Our threshold was to get around 50+ very enthusiastic early adopters to the platform, let them get familiar with it, and then let them know we're having a full-launch and start getting a little bit of traffic. For the initial stage we have our own source from other businesses and believe that the audience would fit well.
  • Another self-check: monAmie.live is designed to be a follower/twitter promoted site. And we're paying out 80% rev-share while covering the chargebacks and hosting the infrastructure. While we'll do our best to give the platform a good kickstarter when we're ready, we'll only experiment with basic traffic later on. That's why we're more suited for models with an existing/loyal follower base + regulars (for now). We have a roadmap how to expand from this base, but it's too early to discuss or even make these decisions.
  • How are we still relevant: monAmie.live allows for asynchronous monetization of your content. Members can request a liveshow for a later date (paid by the minute), chat with you and subscribe to your private gallery. If you have a large twitter or instagram follower base, there are plenty of opportunities to start making money even now.

Use cases:
Subscription: I think the use case for the subscription is rather straightforward, and there are growing platforms out there which provide a good solution. We only compete here on a few fronts which are not that noticeable at first glance. F.i.,
  • we don't save all your content indefinitely and let the members only have access to one month of content for the price of a one month subscription;
  • we use our own infrastructure: we believe that it's only a matter if time till someone reports your private snapchat, twitter, instagram accounts with monthly subscription access and you loose all your hard-earned follower base overnight;
  • we're fully adult complian: no paypal or stripe payouts, no native apps on appstores, fully compliant with know your customer (id and age verification) requirements, etc.

Livestream: use cases for livestreaming we believed in when creating monAmie.live:
  1. Content creator is offline => member can screen the profiles and book an online session for a later date (screenshots explaining this below)
  2. Content creator is "available" => here the content creator is logged in to monAmie.live, but is not livestreaming. Member can request an immediate liveshow which pops-up as a request on your profile
  3. Content creator currently livestreams online => here the content creator starts a free (for registered members) livestream and can get tips on the chat or receive a request to move to a private livestream. Upon this request, content creator can decide to allow "spying" (for half the price of the originator member) or not.
Maybe you already see the pattern above; that each use case is more viable with a growing community. Use case#1 is not much different than selling skype-shows. Use case#2 is somewhere along the SkyPrivate offering (but from mobile and on our own infrastructure). And Use case#3 is closer to a streamate experience. Each steps requires a larger community to be viable. That's where we hope we'll get to, over time.

On Use case#1:
1) The member can schedule a session from the floating action button (FAB).
s1.png

2&3) The member types in his/her request ans sends them over to you. He's notified how much the show is expected to cost. All numbers are in US Dollars. No confusing token or other virtual currencies where you need a "PhD in sending electric cars to space" to figure out what the member is paying and what the content creator is receiving.
s2.png
s3.png

4) Member is notified about the next steps and what to expect.
s4.png

5&6) Content creator is notified via the chat window as if the member has sent a message containing the information chosen in his scheduling request. You can reply here to sort out the details. If they're a subscriber to your private gallery, the messages are for free. If not, each message incl. the initial request costs $0.20.
s5.png
s6.png

7) You can see how much credit the member has on his profile or block him/her by pressing clicking on "view profile" from the chat window.
s7.png

@NikkiLove420
How was It? I'm not signed up yet.
I would say it would be pretty dull at this moment without a counter-party. Think of an instagram livestream without any viewers, you'll just watch yourself :) As explained above, we'll need more than a little time for the livestreaming directly without having your own follower base / regulars to be a viable use case, but we have the technology already working. You can try it out best by asking a friend to create a member account and set your livestream per minute price to "0", and then play around.
We only offer one-way vide/audio and the member has to communicate over chat. There seem to be a lot of models who don't prefer have 2-way sessions, that's why we started with this version (although a lot of the members seem to favor the opposite). We can add this feature without too many foreseen troubles, but there are also many other improvements in our roadmap.

Let me know how important the 2-way video is for you guys.

PS: You can change livestream price as frequent as you want, monthly subscription price is only allowed to be changed once a month.

Cheers,

This is so helpful and so interesting. I can't wait to see it launched !
I've signed up and age verified, everything is pretty much set up. Although it doesn't work for me when I pressed the "live" button - but maybe the verification process takes a bit longer ?

Hi Ursinae,

as long as your identity document is accepted (all passports, most travel documents, residency permits or visas and only very few driving licenses), verification takes effect immediately. You might have to refresh your browser though. In our test accounts, it actually works without problems. If you've tried a few times already, the possible reasons could be:
  1. Your network might have strict settings. If you're using a public Wifi such as airport, company network, etc. they have rather stricter firewall settings and might block the stream. We could theoretically loosen our security settings and be more public wifi compatible, but that would also make your account more vulnerable.
  2. You're streaming from an iOS device. The playback loop is the last problem we're solving right now. Even if you start streaming, you cannot see your own stream.
  3. Just in case, make sure you're at the right screen and know what's expected:
    • when you press the livestream button from your profile Screenshot_20180225-160545.png
    • you should be first directed to this screen. Screenshot_20180225-161331.png
    • You'll have to type in a stream topic. This topic is sent to everyone entering the livestream as the first message. There is also a button there which will automatically tweet the livestream topic together with the link to your profile, which is typically "monamie.live/yourname", but you'll have to provide your twitter credentials for the first attempt.

If the issue is not any of the above, you can reach out to me from the lower left corner of your profile. If we don't hear anything in the next few days then I'll just send an email from support@monamie.live to make sure everything is alright.

Cheers,
Your monAmie.live team

Hi,

thanks for all the support. Long way to go, but good to hear we had an OK start.
We're 2-3 weeks behind schedule for full launch. I was rather hoping we could be finished by end of February, but it'll take a few more weeks to sort out and more importantly thoroughly test all iOS related issues.

So far, ACF has been the only channel we've communicated with the outside world (and only this thread). We'll be posting on other platforms towards the launch and decided to build an easy to reach community channel instead of sporadically monitoring too many platforms. Not sure how many of you use Telegram messenger, but they have public channels very suitable for this use-case.

Going forward the idea is to offload all other channels and talk with the content creators and members on a huge groupchat to share our roadmap, get your feedback and have some fun. What do you think about this?

Looking forward to see many of you join the monAmie.live Telegram channel.

Following up on the above invite to the newly opened Telegram community channel: https://t.me/monamielive. That one is for broadcasts only. We also have a Telegram groupchat here where you can share your ideas: https://t.me/joinchat/GdvcARJ5arhz9bS_zD1utw
We also use a Discord channel internally (for those that don't know Discord, it's like slack, but again more community friendly) and decided to open it up for feedback as well while we keep our internal communication private: discord.gg/AwbnTya

To sum up:
We'll use Telegram for more casual community connection: https://t.me/joinchat/GdvcARJ5arhz9bS_zD1utw
Discord is organized in categories for serious feedback, discussing your ideas and timeplan of new features, bug reports/issues and for those who feel like sharing random stuff: discord.gg/AwbnTya
