Looks like a nice one. I've already got my 3 picked out. Now just to set reminder so I don't forget.

Actually, I'm less concerned about people finding me out... and more interested in what all information MFC is making public and where it's accessible at? I'm just a bit confused... my public profile doesn't share anything as to when my sessions begin/end, there's much more detail in the mycamgirl profile than I see on the public profile. Is there some other MFC model search available that I'm unaware of? which provides this information? Where are you pulling this data from 'mycamgirl' ?

Welcome to the world of webcam modeling Katrina, lol.
If I(*) go to the main page, where it shows all online models, and you show up there "in private", I know you are busy in private. If in the next minute that I check the list of online models you are still in private, I can assume that you are in private for at least 1 minute. And every minute I add 1 minute until I see your status has changed. The same for all the possible status (free chat, private, group and away) and camscore too. The Miss MFC graph and the group viewers work in a different way, but all from public pages.

(*) When I say "I", I mean a computer does the job.

About 3 years ago I asked MFC if they had a tool so I could get the list of online models (most of the camsites have) and they answered with the usual short form: No. So, you can see that MFC does not help me and they have no intention to do so.

Unlike other sites, MFC does not have a public affiliate program. The people that get invited to the program only have a URL with a code to track referrals, just like the "Bring a Friend". They don't get special tools or access to any info about models. As far as I know, there is only a marketing company that has a partnership with MFC and that has permission to use some material for advertising purposes, already discussed here: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=6003 But even those guys, they don't have access to any private info.

Just amazed what a stand up guy you are willing to go so far to help her help and ease all of the concerns of the models on here. :-D

So. I hate to be the first to bring this up but it kind of needs to be asked. Is there any sort of anti script protection in place for the voting? Any way to weed out computers automatically voting? Maybe IP tracking, or disabling any votes that come from hidden IP's or the same ones?

Just curious.

On a totally unrelated note, I noticed the votes are intriguing. The top 3 currently have an average (at the time of this writing) of 1437 votes. The next 10 highest models have an average of 264.4 votes. So the top 3 have 5.4 times more votes on average than those lesser 10. And all models but the top 3 have an average of 59.1 votes. So the top three are greater than 24.3 times the average votes of everyone else. I'm starting to wonder if one person really likes these top 3 models and has reached out to convince thousands of other 'people' to all vote without being logged in to get those 0.2 votes each.

Oh look, in the time it took me to write this message the top model just jumped exactly 100 votes. Guess my numbers may already need adjusting.

Very, uhm, interesting.

Just a quick follow up with some interesting numbers. I thought it would be cool to see what the rate of change was for the votes. So, here about 4 hours later, i went and jotted down the scores again in my spreadsheet since i still had it open with the previous numbers.

The top model has gained 450 points in that time, 2nd place 439 points and 3rd place 198, for an average gain of 363.3 points each.

The next top 10 placed models have gained an average of 45.9 points in the same span. Overall the models from 4th place on to last place have gained an average of 12 points in the past four hours. So the top three are gaining at a rate of 30 to 1 over everyone else.

Using the average gain of 45.9 points for next ten models and a gain of 450 points for the top model I decided to calculate Poisson's Number to see what the odds of that model gaining that many points in that time frame. Using the formula below I could not calculate it in Microsoft Excel, so I had to plug it into WolframAlpha instead (pretty much the smartest database on the planet)

It calculated the percent chance of that model gaining that many points in that time frame compared to the average gain of the other models at 4.39239X10^(-273). In other words, NO FREAKING WAY. Your odds of winning the mega lottery are 1 in 175711536. So you would have to win it (4 with 280 zeros after it) times to have the same odds.

At this point I think it's safe to say that is statistically improbable (South Park would call it Shenanigan's I do believe).

Not to mention, the top three with suspicious numbers all work for Chaturbate, so it makes sense that they might have fans in common. I understand it has some of the highest traffic of all camsites, but c'mon.

Also if you pull up the top models chaturbate page there is a single graphic that has all 3 of them (top 3 voted ladies) on it involving the contest. I Don' t know how chaturbate works for sure but can models be signed up through a studio there? Because if all 3 are affiliated with the same studio I would say that studio might be the source of the miraculous votes rather than just some random fan. If they are all involved with the same studio the odds of all three getting the top 3 votes like that naturally are non-existent.

I received a message from MyCamGirl assuring me that action will be taken. Thought ya'll might like to know.

I don't take this decision lightly, but it has to be done. The top 2 have been disqualified. Reasons:

  • In the first 8 hours, they have created 67 accounts, that they used to vote only for themselves. Not that hard to track as it was the same IP they used to apply for the contest.
  • When these accounts were blocked from voting, they started voting as guests. At some point, 60% of their votes had been sent from their own region. Considering that they block their own country from accessing their rooms, how can a person who is not able to watch their shows have any opinion?
  • The mods in their rooms were telling people to create multiple accounts and how to do it. No words from them. They only took actions when I said they would be disqualified.

They contacted me asking "why can't I vote for me?". They admitted they got multiple accounts and claimed they didn't know it was not allowed. After that I couldn't spot a single vote coming from them. That was when some guys came into play. Three guys alone created over 60 accounts. Do I need to say who these accounts voted for?

Only these fake accounts created by 3 guys + the 2 girls represent 20% of the members who voted for them. Plus the fake guest votes that at some point I got tired of counting.

I put a mechanism in place to avoid fake votes. This ended up blocking also real votes sent to other girls (thanks to people who helped me fixing the issues). When facing this, cheaters try to find a way around. Honest people think the contest is too buggy to vote and go away. When I finally got a decent protection, they started getting a lot of votes from guests. Smells like bots. It is true that they were offering a girl/girl show if they won, which helps getting votes from freeloaders. But the rate, as JerryBoBerry has pointed out, is really odd.

Why I didn't act early? Because I'm a soft guy and I was naive. I truly thought that they would stop, and that the fake votes they had gotten wouldn't be enough to keep the competition away if no more tricks were used. But it didn't stop. For every measure I applied, those guys sending fake votes were finding a way around. Now it is slower, maybe because it is Christmas. But the damage is done. With the votes they have now, there is no way someone will get closer to them. And even when the 3rd was getting closer, they immediately started getting more vote up to a comfortable point.

Now, the girl who was on #3. In reaction to the obviously trick, her regulars started sending fake votes too. She never created multiple accounts and she told her regulars to stop sending fake votes. Actually, she contacted me to explain everything before I could even look into this. That's why she couldn't keep up with the other girls. Therefore, instead of disqualifying her, I will disqualify the fake votes she got. This measure also affects two other girls, but at a very small scale, like 10-15 votes.

Why I didn't have any mechanism to avoid this? Because I never had to have any mechanism before. Surely there were some fake votes in the past editions, 2-3% of all votes maybe, but it was never close to affect the final result and it was never at this scale.

I am deeply sorry for all this. Miss MyCamgirl was always a fun contest, and it is sad that this has happened. Lesson learned. Next year will be different.

That being said, I want to give a big thank you to all the girls and their fans that, despite all that, continued to promote the contest and never tried to game the system.

I'm just wondering, I understand if that's the case, are you deleting all votes that come from the same IP? My roommate (an MFC member) had been voting for me and now I think I lost 4 votes. I'd hate if it looked like I'd been cheating...

ETA: I might have also forgotten how many votes I had earlier.

I'm sure voting for yourself is fine...creating 67 accounts is a bit extreme though

I applaud you for the way you have handled this, and your response. Unfortunately, as many automatic "security" measures one might take to try to keep an online voting contest fair--there will always be people who are ready and willing to scratch, claw, and bite their way through any and all obstacles to cheat the system. It's a shame--but when money/prizes are at stake, some people will never be able to treat things as "just fun."

What's awesome is that you were able to take a look at what happened and take appropriate action. Obviously you were placed in an awkward position, but I think considering the circumstances you did the best you could--and brought things as close to the "all in good fun level" as could be expected. So... just wanted to say--good job

Are you serious? Thats not right. Chaturbate should not be supporting a few models. That really upsets me.

Can't you buy ads on Chaturbate? A studio just likely bought an ad, not different from anyone else doing the same.

tl:dr mycamgirl allows the same type of nonsense people are mad at ratemycamgirls for possibly allowing.
There is a spam killer to avoid "viagra" comments, and that ends up blocking "you slut" kind of comment too. But it is not perfect. Whenever I see a comment like this, or if someone reports it, it's removed right away. The same for comments containing private information or links to pirate forums.

And why the hell can unregistered members post comments? Basically, I didn't want to force anyone to sign-up just to post a comment. The original concept of the site was a mere blog with reviews. It didn't even had a login system, so anyone could post a comment. It was all cool. Most of the comments were "love you bb", or just thanking me for the post. So I thought, what the heck, why not extend the comments to camsites where she works?

It was ok, for a good year. But as the database grew, more comments were being posted, and the nasty comments started to show up. That is why I didn't bother to put comments and ratings on stats pages. If I do this, and the girls that have verified profiles on the site know that there is an option to disable comments on stats although there is no way to post comments, but if I introduce this, I won't do it before getting feedback from girls.

Now, the future of the site. A lot of things will change. Under the hood, that is for sure, to improve the site performance. But also how some features work. For example, unregistered members will have many actions limited. They will be able to see, but not touch. Even members won't be able to touch too much.

I want a site where people can contribute with their experiences. But this site has to be fun for girls too. This is not easy to accomplish with so many trolls and haters out there. I just can't assume that everybody commenting will be polite and fair.

That's why I want to hear what girls have to say about the site. What you like, what you hate... things that you think might be helpful. It would be great to hear as many opinions as possible.

mycamgirl - you're just so awesome in the way you deal with things.
(that sounds a little weird to say. do people call you MCG, or do you have a first name?

I hope I didn't come across as a jerk, cause you really are awesome. I think I had a legit comparison, that I hope I made in a nice way

You make a good point about the desirability of open comments. And an accurate observation that as a site becomes more popular that becomes more difficult. I know I wouldn't join just to leave a comment. I cant even remember why I joined myself. I signed in for the contest a lot more than I'd ever signed in previously. I use stats and cwsw the most.

thanks for the great site. Since you mention it, I may pm you a link to the comment. I wouldn't expect you to take the time to remove it, but since you mentioned it i may.
Or I may just post my own comment and people can decide for themselves who is rational.

Don't need to. I found the comment by the text and deleted it. Better than feed the trolls.

As for MCG... it was coined by Jolene Brody and she holds all the rights. It costs 10 cents to use it in a movie, song or commercial.

Let me address some issues...

There are too many hours on my stats
There was a small bug that was making the bot to count as online (and broadcasting) girls who were online but with webcam off. This bug only affected the stats in the last week. This bug has been fixed. Thanks to curvyredhead for reporting this.

My account has been flagged as closed
Very common issue. This is probably because you changed your model name and didn't get online since the change. The bot can only catch name changes when you get online using the new name. If the bot tries to update your camscore before it realizes you changed your name, it will fail and consider your account as closed. Everything will get back to normal as soon as you get online again.

MFC Wiki said:
Hiding CamScore
Models can choose that their CamScore not be displayed on the website or their profile by changing the setting in the "Model Settings" portion of their Model Admin.
The code has been changed to reflect the options set by the girl on MFC. This means that if you hide your camscore on MFC, it will also be hidden on MyCamgirl. A few points...

  • The camscore graph and also your low/high camscore will be hidden. There will be no reference to your current/past camscore.
  • Your camscore will continue to be tracked and counted towards the global stats, just not shown on the site.
  • If you want to hide it on MFC, but show it on MyCamgirl, PM me and I'll switch the flag.
  • If you have a verified profile on MyCamgirl, you still can access your camscore history.
  • This is not automatic. If you change your settings now, it won't hide your camscore on MyCamgirl right away. The bot needs to detect the change, which may happen in a few hours or maybe in the next day.

Let me know if you find any bug or have any questions.

;)

Thank You!

Also-For those effected by the bug. It effected your average room total as well, so it will appear lower then usual.

The voting has opened for the 2014 edition!
Vote for your Favourite girl, and if you can't decide, you can vote up to three times a day for three different models!
Logged-in votes count x10 as opposed to guest votes, so if you want to make it count, register for free!

and if you have no clue: Support the ACF girls!!

thank you.

The current ranking, as you can see the top 2 is way ahead! but it's still very interesting. if you want to have a go, go here: http://miss.mycamgirl.net/

I don't want to leave anyone out because I'm not entirely sure who's on ACF, but you'll see some familiar faces no doubt :]
