the only people who listed the VA as Non-Essential was the GOVERNMENT, but if you noticed, they still got payed because they enacted a law to ensure no matter what they do or don't do(pass a yearly budget as required by law) they are not affected in any way (think govt ELITEISM). They pass laws for everyone to follow but exempt themselves from following those same laws.
If the law does not apply to EVERYONE then it can not apply to ANYONE. :twocents-02cents:

FYI... Most VA services like hospitals, mental health counseling, crisis hotlines, prescriptions, etc., continued because the VA's health programs are funded one year in advance.

Also, the furloughed Federal employees will still get paid for time they didn't work in addition to the unemployment payments they received (if applied for) while not working so they basically got a 2 week paid vacation.

This thread was intended for a few laughs. I got the idea from posts in the "What is on your mind right NOW" thread, and remembered that old video.

If anyone wants to continue with the partisan politics... start another thread.
