just curious, but since i've had all variety of pets except the ones that are really wild animals (which to me is dumb, irresponsible, and worthy of being beaten with at least a wet noodle if not worse things) i wonder what the typical favorite pets around here are.

i have 3 cats.... and i found this is the greatest number for me... they can choose who to hate or love today, but still won't be lonely
Dogs for me. They're affectionate, smart, and don't make you have a sandbox full of poop in your bathroom. I could put in a vote for ferrets, but I think they're only really awesome if you have an EvaLee (aka The Ferret Whisperer) around too, and I don't think she's available as a pet.

Don't rabbits count as rodents? They have the same jaw structure, I'm pretty suredriverxtc said:

( night of the lepus anyone?) i'd call any critter that is kept in a similar fashion as a rodent regardless of family. minks, ferrets etc fall under that general heading despite being from yet another taxonomic family. a poll thats too long is just a pain in the ass lol

ferrets, cats, bearded dragons, and horses. But I could only pick three, so I put other as my third choice.

i just realized i never threw in my two cents on what i like lol. (very unlike me) im a dog and cat guy myself their various qualities are each so beautiful that it i have a choice ill always have one of each in my life. but i also have a special place in my heart for rats. the only reason i dont have any now is that their short life span becomes depressing to me quickly.
over the years ive had all of the above, plus fish, a scorpion, a spider (rosy tarantula) an iguana, hamsters, a mouse, a guinea pig (on loan sort of, but fun!) and several insects. we used to keep the spiders around the house well fed so they were sort of "pets" if you have a cricket budget for the orb weavers on your porch i guess you can call them pets lol. same with the black widows under the house and any random mantids that hung around for more than an hour

It's extremely fast and difficult to hold in your hands, but I used to have a Robo Dwarf Hamster.

I currently have 5 dogs (2 of my own and 3 foster dogs) and two cats in my house. I love all animals,but definitely have a soft spot for dogs. I've had ferrets and a rabbit before as well.
