Hello,
The hubby and I were talking the other day and an idea came up for a panic button for mfc. I think mfc might benefit from this making it feel more secure for premiums to log on spend some tokens when they are feeling frisky but they have to be secretive about it .The implementation of a panic button would be for example, you are at work and your boss is walking by …click the panic button and wham ..your spreadsheet comes back. Hence deceiving your boss into thinking you are a good worker, not getting fired and still being able to afford a pvt. Another common example if your wife or husband comes home early from grocery shopping ….click the panic button and Shark Week is back on the screen…. whew… that was close. I even think it could be beneficial for models to have a panic button ,example babysitter brought home minors early without proper notice(phone call) as there is a personal issue that needed to be addressed asap. What do you think about the panic button?

I'm not sure if the panic button would be closer then the 'away' button, or the X for members.

if I"m gonna click on something its gonna be a second tab that is either about:blank or something more innocent.
wouldn't want a button taking up real estate on the mfc screen. Or like others said, alt tab is good too.
You just have to practice not looking guilty while you do this :D

if you're perving at work, and you are insane enough to do it where people can walk up on you, first seek help ;) second, get a privacy guard filter for the screen. doesn't work if they are directly behind you. although then I'd hope they couldn't be at a good angle and are blocked by your head.

I like that USB gadget. or is it "USP" :woops:
wondering how that would work with a second monitor. You step on the button, and a fake spreadsheet comes up covering Outlook, while on your other montior the action continue unabated.

At my last office job the boss had access to what we were doing on the internet. I assumed most jobs are like this.

Depends on the size of the company in my experience - in my previous life as an IT consultant, only the clients with 50 or more employees (with one exception that I remember) bothered to set up usage monitoring and/or filtering; all the others relied on having less employees than needed, which ensured everyone was too busy to think about looking at porn/news/whatever else. And on the very large companies, most of them monitor, but don't use that data until they need/want to.

And the exception was fun - it was an architecture/civil engineering company.. They set up the filter to just log everything and every week/month they would print the list of sites accessed that weren't approved and put it on the coffee room (without saying who accessed it, even though they had the data). I'm sure it led to interesting discussions...

I was just using the work idea as an example because a premi who took me into pvt while he was at work. He was a manager or owner as he had his own office and windows. Apparently while he closed the door he forgot to lock it so a secretary walked in about 3 min into it and he had his wanky out. Funniest pvt ever. Thanks for the alt-tab advice:)

I'm always amazed when someone says that they're perving at work. Your employer doesn't have porn sites blocked? What? Wow!

A lot of em perv from their phone at work too. Or they tether off their phone on their own computer.. I know I've had regs do that when they work late at the office.

I have popped onto MFC from my phone before, just to see a special outfit or drop a tip real fast. That was before they had mobile perving though.

Most colleges & universities in the US don't block or monitor anything. So those of us who work in higher education can often perv without any trouble.

I was an intern at an internet company once that didn't filter out any porn sites either. Sometimes companies are just very trusting I guess.

Actually Firefox and Chrome have extensions just for this, I believe that Chromes will even hide your tabs. No use for a site to implement it.

Random as all hell but... I think it'd be really cool if premiums could log on in "Ghost Mode" - no one can see they are online but maybe the people they select. There are some days when people don't want to interact with a bunch of people (even the people on their friend's list) and would like to enjoy a model but still be able to tip. This would give them that chance - no interaction except with models they choose.

I wrote MFC about it but haven't gotten a response yet.

My employer is super strict about what we're able to access - streaming isn't allowed on work computers, so they have YouTube and Pandora blocked in addition to porn sites. It's less a matter of trusting your employees, and more a concern for the safety of your computers. If someone were to hack into an external site or infect it with a virus, it would expose the employee's computer, and any confidential client information on it, to the hacker/virus, thus putting the company at risk for a security leak.

We've had way too many meetings on Internet security and risk management, and they stress these points to us over and over. But we are a bank, so there's HUGE reasons for them to be so strict. I guess companies that don't have such sensitive information are probably a little more lax.

Yes, yes, oh fuck yes! I would love this feature! There are times I don't log on because I know who will pm me immediately, and there are just days I wanna be left alone

They declined my idea. They said that they'd rather members just create a new account if they don't feel like being social on MFC. Damnit.

I understand what you're saying but you can't tip with those accounts. MFC is a tight knit community. There are pros and cons to that. One of the cons being that members sometimes end up fighting with other members because hey... that happens with friends at times. After a fight, some members want to log in to chat with their favorite models but don't want to deal with drama. That's where my idea for a Ghost account came in - no one could see them, yet they could talk to a model and tip her if they wanted to (which is much more than you can do as a Guest or Basic).

I thought MFC might be losing out by not having a feature like this one but they don't feel the same.

There is a panic button, Ctrl-w.

As for "appear offline" type affair - at first I'd be for it... but in reality, if I can't be bothered to talk then wtf am I doing logged in? If they're friends, friendships require effort and you talk even when you don't want to because that's what friends do. If they're not actual friends, just don't reply.

IMHO, not all friends are equal. I have quite a few friends that require way more energy to hang out with than others. It doesn't make them less of a friend or not 'actual' friends, it's just part of their personality. And there's a few times that want to hang with my friends, but want to avoid said energy-intensive friends.. The same happens in MFC.

Oh, I am sure many in "RL" have those types of friends - but this is the internet, chatting by a text box, where it's conducted at your own speed and the ability to "step away" whenever you want (by either saying "BRB" or actually going somewhere).

Maybe I just view things slightly differently.

That's the problem - not everyone sees the internet (and IM specially) as an asynchronous method of communication...

Several times I've had people get pissed off at me for 'ignoring' them, when in fact my computer was logged in (and the IM client was marking me as away) downloading stuff for me while I was kilometers away at work/school (and they knew my schedule!)...
Or when I am in a meeting and my phone is logged in to Google Hangouts but in silent mode (thanks Google for not making it easy to set status on Hangouts :angry4: ) .. Or to add more fun - when I send a message, Hangouts delivers it hours later.. and then the recipient gets annoyed that I dont reply immediately - try explaining that to them...

(And I should point out that I frequently fall asleep with my computer on .. And yet some of my friends never learn)
