Anyone here a fellow poet?

I would love to read some of your works, I am really keen on haikus, there is just something so beautiful about the simplistic 5,7,5 syllable style to me.

here is one I wrote about my first love:

Your stubby fingers
Spent more time inside me, than
Entwined with my own

Have a go at writing your own or feel free to post your poems!

As a bird in the air so free,
That I wanted all my life to be.
No worries ,problems or pain,
But sadly enough it comes every time again.
When I finally am happy and have fun,
Enjoying life and the sun.
Then there appears the next one,
When will all those things be gone.
But how hard all may be,
It will not bring down me.
With my head up high,
I smile and look up to that bird in the sky.

Two hearts alone searching where they belong,
So many choice so many hearts among.
But ever hopeful attempt they try,
Ends for them in a deep cry.
They are both lost in a big pound,
Urging, desiring to be found.
Then that one special day,
Somebody heard there pray.
Guided by wind and water,
They finally found each other.
Now they are where they belong,
Together in love and strong

Your words hit me like a knife,
Cutting me open while awake and alive.
It looks like a battle I lost,
But I will fight for your love no matter what it will cost.
Your history made you to what you now be,
Even losing the faith and trust in me.
I wish I can heal all those sorrow and pain,
Never let you relive those things again.
I am always honest and showed you all,
Even made you crazy by my never ending call.
But this is a choice you have to make today,
And the only thing I can do is pray.

This just reminded me I won (the equivalent of a US state) poetry competition when young - and it was published in a book!
I need to find out what it was - it was undoubtedly bloody awful as I was about 7 years old. Probably fluffy clouds, cows, and dubious rhyming words.

If I can find the anti-capitalist rant i wrote at the age of 15 I'll throw it in here; it's unlikely to be found, but I remember reading it back a few years later (so 20 years ago) and thinking "blimey, that was... visceral".

I've never really "got" Haiku though.

When they met,
Never kissed Forever on the cheek.
Forever forgot her name
and Never continued his game.

Never said, "Now."
Forever thought, "Love? Love must mean surrender..."
Forever gave herself to Never.

Never and Forever followed pleasure
down a quick and empty path
that ended.

Never said goodbye to Forever and left.

Forever still cries when remembering Never.
She traded her heart for his touch,
and his touch ended everything she knew.

When Forever thinks of love,
she only whispers, "never."
