I found something interesting. Judging by his recent behavior, Zelensky seems to be producing a political showpiece. I don't think there is a strong military capability in Europe right now. Once Ukraine lacks US support, they can never be a winner in this war. I think Zelensky needs to change his mind. If the US does not support Ukraine, then Russia will easily take Ukraine and pose an irreversible threat to Europe. Europe also needs to face up to their military capabilities when de-industrialized.

It’s wild how many people are offended that she would stick up for the authority of the courts because she “owes Trump.”
These people really think the role of a presidential appointee is to do favors for the person that appointed them, for the rest of their lives. If that were the case, there’d be no practical reason to even have branches of government.

I don’t go on X hardly ever these days, but I did see a few instances this year where Elon was openly threatening to primary Republicans that didn’t fall in line with his actions. I’m hoping, as you mentioned, that the reality is the opposite (that they’re more likely to be primary’d for bowing to Elon than for crossing him).
But therein lies the problem of Elon controlling one of the biggest megaphones in the world, X/Twitter. He controls the entire platform, the messaging it chooses to amplify, the posts that get surfaced, and the ones that don’t. If he wants it to appear that “the people” overwhelmingly support him, that’s how it’ll look. On X/Twitter, anyway. What you see there might not have anything to do with reality. The danger is in folks not realizing that, and seeing a bunch of rah-rah Elon praise and falling in with the imaginary “pack.”
X, as a platform, can’t be trusted. It’s now a propaganda machine for a man with billions to gain from controlling the message. Which sucks, because I know a lot of well-meaning people who don’t agree with Elon’s tactics but still need to use X for business reasons. I switched platforms, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t lose some traction and valued interactions in doing so.

I was confused how this was even an option for them to do this because I thought Harvard was a private tuition school that could make their own decisions on who they enroll. But it turns out 68% of their funding comes from the federal government. Somehow this thread got lost to me since its inception in the continuous onslaught of “I got banned” threads…so, forgive me if I repeat something already said. I haven’t had time to read all of the comments.
I agree that we have a lot of ‘Fucked, Going on FUBARd’ in the usa under the current joke of an administration. So much of the yelling by Mango Mussolini has become smoke to rile his followers up while some incredibly nefarious shit goes on in the background. The fucker yells on his platform every time he needs to cover something else up. If he CAPLOCKS a post, dig into what he’s not talking about that day.
Also, if you’re like me and avoid nearly all media and social media posts by or about the Peach Palpatine, check out Dr. Heather Cox Richardson on substack. She is an American historian with all the background to give very in-depth and insightful analysis of the day-to-day political shifting in an academic yet digestible way. It is a go-to source for me because it reads clearly, concisely, and severely without all of the alarmist panic-shit to sift through. That’s not to say she doesn’t raise alarm, she just raises the alarm with the information you need to go along with it. Always with cited sources. The benefit to substack is that she’s not algo’d from your feeds when you try to follow her on the typical sm channels.
And said early on here, get your passport asap. Needing two matching IDs for things like voting, travel, etc is coming. The offices are getting swamped with requests and staff is being cut, so I expect wait times to be near-infinite soon, if not already.
Hope for the best; plan for the worst.

We are about to have a military parade soon (June 14) because of Bunghole’s Birthday (and celebrating the Army’s 250th)…conservative cost estimates range from $25M to $45M, but I’m expecting $100M+ when it’s all counted.
And for what? To continue cosplaying Mussolini to Putin’s Hitler?
Aaaand much of that money is directly tied to research into stopping diseases from killing. That shouldn’t cause any issues with healthcare advancement in the near or far future at all! /sarcasm
