Agreed. I have met survival sex workers who found the lush was the ONLY reliable way they could make tokens. I have a hard time accepting folks who go after models like this. Even those who are not in survival mode, I feel like chasing what makes you profit while protecting your health and wellbeing is an understandable response.

While I do agree with @Ozzie_ it is a deceptive practice, I don't feel all deceptive practices are morally wrong. In this case it feels fairly victimless, and considering the fact that we live under capitalism and a patriachy... I dunno a few women figuring out a way to hack men's often selfish and unrealistic demands on their bodies in order to make their $$ is hardly something I would classify as a huge scam.

I'd love it if we valued women's pleasure enough that we might not be asked to act in a performative way for men's sexual pleasure. But we are far away from that.

Anyway that's deeper thoughts on the matter. There are so many worse scams out there that do lasting damage to their victims. The only damage this scam comes with is the dissolution of a fantasy when if the scam is revealed. Which I think is a reality check many may need.

So Good Chefs Kiss GIF by Your Happy Workplace

Cookie Monster in Sesame Street doesn't really eat them, that was the 1st scam I spotted as a kid.
Seems harmless in comparison to how priests scammed altar boys, or how migrant workers are shipped as cargo to be slaves.
Perspective young grasshopper, perspective:) There's bigger shit going on in the world than your unhappiness, and your willing to charge everyone with the liability to it.
Get over it or get a super expensive Florida lawyer to sue everyone, the cam site, the studio, the Internet company, and possibly the milkman for delivering "fake" milk that really is just soy.
Mic drop.

We live in a time where it is considered 'hip' to be a victim. Why would cam sites, where members are concerned, be any different? /sarcasm

Then I come back to "Why"? What is the upside to this alleged scam?
Getting guys to tip because the model claims to have an operational lush 🤷‍♂️
Having a hard time seeing a significant loss here..
Doesn't seem much of a scam.
No it is not much of a scam. But let's call a spade a shovel, it *is* dishonest / deceptive. It truly doesn't concern me, if I see something that doesn't appeal to me in a room, I move on.
I guess we can test it out. We both get one and insert it for 8 hours and see how we feel?
Why? For me that is not the "issue". If it is uncomfortable, or time to remove it for comfort / health, take it out! Or don't use it.

I also keep repeating that info as a kind of PSA to both models and members: most people with vaginas would enjoy having their clitorises stimulated externally significantly more than vibrations from inserted Lush AND it's better for their health long term to use the toy externally or just switch to a toy made for external stimulation (especially if they stream long hours multiple times a week).
I agree, and in this case I why not either use Domi, or use the lush externally? I do not have a problem** with external toys, I have a problem** with toys not turned on when advertised that they are functioning.

**Problem, I don't have one, as stated elsewhere. :)
I noticed that many members expect Lush to be inserted while expecting genuine pleasure from every tip at the same time. Again, very unlikely to happen, but many models (including myself sometimes) play along with it because it's profitable.
Maybe I am naive, but I don't think guys want lush inserted as such, but only want that it is functional (connected and turned on) when advertised as such. All I am hoping for when I tip a model with any toy, is that it reacts and that she gets some level of enjoyment from the vibrations (as predetermined by her choice of settings).
I did not think that at all. I asked because I honestly am curious why for so many members that line seems to be exactly there.
For me, it comes down to honest fair dealing. If I go to a restaurant and order and pay for wagyu steak and am served tofu, I am going to be less than impressed. If the restaurant is out of wagyu, I expect that they tell me that, or remove it from the menu.

If a model doesn't want to or can't insert lush, then either use it externally, or use another toy or use none, but do not claim to be using it when it is turned off or disconnected. I even once had a model once try to tell me that she was using lush when clearly she was not(absolutely no sign of it and she was completely naked) , "It's all inside me, bb". She was a sweet girl who was no doubt encouraged by her studio to say such a silly thing, but once she said that, I didn't go back again.

Cam sites are fantasy fun. I tip because I appreciate the model's time and effort, not because I honestly believe she is getting off. I assume nothing and just try to treat everyone like a human being and not sex doll robots. Being on camera and fielding selfish rude cheap pricks for hours is not an easy job so I'm perfectly willing to give the model and yeah even the studio some slack. If I really don't like something I just move on as it's pointless to piss an moan over it. If I can get off to softcore porn, I can handle some acting in a cam show.

Respectfully (cos I really do appreciate the way you've expressed your opinions on this matter) I think you are being a bit naïve. I .. may be a little bit of a bitter burnt out old cam model.. however some of the reasons for that burn out was consistently being treated like my body and pleasure was secondary or completely irrelevant. When I was younger and I was not good at boundries at all (and had this fear that if I said no to something the sky would fall) I would often have to fake an orgasm during a private because someone demanded penetration and wouldn't let me use my clit toys in conjunction with it. If I said "I prefer this smaller toy as the larger one is uncomfortable" or "I really like having clit stimulation to cum" or even "I don't cum from penetration" the guy would often say things like "use the bigger one I just like the way it looks better" "No baby you just need to do it this way" "just do it faster/harder" "I bet i can make you cum". When we communicate our bodies needs and desires it is too often met as a challenge to be overcome instead of information to be used to give us greater pleasure.

And insertion for me absolutely will always make more money than not. There are exceptions to this - models that build a brand around a different concept etc but overall cutting insertion out of your option list is a move that may well cost you $$$. Just like squirting - its a visual aid for men who have been socialized to think this is what pleasure for women SHOULD look like and also for men who cannot imagine giving pleasure that doesn't involve their penis going inside a vagina (therefore a vibrating toy inside a vagina must feel good)

Now - I've said all these horrible things about my experiences and I would like to say that as time has gone on and I've made firmer boundries and simply refused requests I didn't like (due to increasing financial stability that doing those uncomfortable things gave me) I have been able to cultivate a group of clients and regulars that respect boundries and FOR THE MOST PART are at least ok with going along with my pleasure.

Unrelated directly to this but just to avoid a double post - I started camming in 2010. I no longer regularly cam and I no longer feel like I will lose my income if I admit these things so I think I'd like to put some of this in perspective. I think I always tried to be as genuine as I could be on cam. However for financial survival combined with a need to protect my safety, my mental or physical health and wellbeing here's a list of things I've lied about on cam. I think i'm far from alone.

1. Fake or watered down alcohol when a high paying regular who made up a large % of my income demanded I get drunk every night.
2. My location - For safety reasons.
3. My relationship status.
4. Ass to mouth during a demanding private from a regular who was abusive. I'd lighting fast switch dildos off cam to protect my health and wellbeing.
5. Anal with a large toy in a custom video for that same person. He refused to consider a more comfortable toy so I filmed half the video and showed the tip going in, then cut it off near the base and filmed with it pushed up into my butt so you couldnt tell that there was not a giant 9" dildo in there. He wanted fast/rough anal and I cannot physically do that.
6. Being in a public place. Back in 2010-2012 ish public shows were all the rage. There was no real regulation for them and after I did some that were like controlled places I was making so much more doing them and the demand for more and more public/risky kept growing. I absolutely felt that pressure. So I would do things like organize a fake pizza delivery with a friend (men on cam were not well controlled for at the time. I recognize this was not great). Or I'd go to a friends restaurant after hours and pay them to "serve" me and make it seem like I was somewhere public. I eventually was able to transition out of these by buying a fuck machine and switching to full insertion shows (something I didn't do in public chat before then) but there was a transition period to keep myself financially stable while I did it. i stopped about a year before public shows were banned and I'm glad I did but it was something I felt IMMENSE pressure at the time to do more of.
7. Faked having a buttplug in during a video. I showed insertion, cut, took it out then continued the video. Having a plug and a large dildo inside me at the same time is not comfortable and once it was in the angle never showed the plug.
8. Orgasms. For demanding customers who were making me disassociate from my fucking body.
9. The "pain" of a spanking. I have a paddle that makes a large noise but is designed not to hurt or cause damage. I used that when customers would demand really hard bdsm play.
10. Finally I've lied about my fetishes to make others feel more comfortable (Oh yes im sooo into balloons!), my attraction to people, what I thought of their penis, (including providing small penis humiliation for penises I thought were just fine) my comfort level, my availability, my likes and dislikes, and even once my political beliefs. The only one I feel really icky about is the political beliefs BUT I think I don't regret it because I felt like this person was a legit danger to me during a meet and greet in vegas.

None of these things are ideal. I wish I had come into this industry with stellar boundary setting skills, better financial management, a better understanding of my own body and needs, etc. I think I'd have avoided exposing myself to a lot of trauma and doing a lot of things I ultimately didn't want to do.

I'm posting this list to kinda reality check this whole idea of a "scam" a bit. Models are constantly asked to choose between paychecks and things they may not be comfortable with. Some of us will find creative solutions that hopefully the member isn't aware of. I recognize that this contributes to teaching men that they can treat us this way and I'm beyond happy that I'm now in a place where I am able to do things that are comfortable for me. But just like any job there are always moments that require us to "fake" something. I forgot to edit a custom and had to film on my period to meet a deadline last week. It wasn't a comfortable experience. I'll never tell the client, and I made it look sexy but it too is a performative fantasy. It's just about HOW far you'll go with that.

room subject changed to "Tip me and I'll pretend a pink pussy parasite is tickling me"

I actually saw that in a model’s room.

That’s awesome! I love her sense of humor!

@Miss_Lollipop your post was really good but this part in particular:

When we communicate our bodies needs and desires it is too often met as a challenge to be overcome instead of information to be used to give us greater pleasure.

This was perfectly put. It gets tiring, especially when you're new/younger/feel uncomfortable stating boundaries and on top of that, it's more financially beneficial to follow along with what LOOKS good than what FEELS good.
It's easy to look down on people in the industry for not being "real" when you don't know how much people have to put up with. I don't shame anyone for what they do to put on a good performance, because that's ultimately what it is - a performance in exchange for money.

Agree. I am actually more turned on by a woman in pleasure, than really anything else. Regardless of the kink...if she is hot for it, good with me :)

Well. My favorite model was told by her studio today that she had to have one toy. We have had a few conversations about how she doesn't like toys.
Interestingly, my friend and I were having a conversation similar to this a week or so ago. I told her I hated lovense and that I was happy she didn't use it. She replied that she was offered a lot of money to use one.
So of course, I immediately put on my White Knight armor and am about to start spouting off about evil studios, but she says, no idiot, customers offer me lots of tokens to use one. The studio admins then see how much money I am turning down, and keep suggesting I use one. I just say no.
So, she could be making more with lovense. I don't like the fact that she is being pressured to use one, but I understand why.
Sorry, I know it is not good forum etiquette to quote myself. But the point ... my favorite model told me today the studio wants her to have one toy. She is considering lovense, and that is the one the studio wants. Apparently, the studio has noted how many guys ask for lovense. I suggested Domi, because it is not internal, and she can control it better. I am really. really sad, and I don't completely understand why. I could go on about the studio controlling everything, not being able to turn off sites for pvts, not being able to turn off spy mode, not being in control of recording feature ... And now, not being in control of her own body. But who the fuck am I, right? I guess I should just sit back and enjoy the shows and not worry about things I can't control and that aren't really my business, right? I do genuinely care about her, but ... whatever.

Thank you for this. "Thank you" is probably not the correct term, as you have listed many things that make me sad to hear. I am sorry that you experienced these things (I know you didn't list them for sympathy, but still, that's me. Such things make me sad / angry that guys can be so ignorant and so abusive)

Whilst I have never used the term "scam" even in my own mind regarding what we have discussed here, I now will consider more the reasons why the model might feel compelled to do them and think less along the lines of deceit. Such rooms are still not for me, and the way I feel about them of course makes no difference to those models, but you have given me "food for thought".

(Hopefully the OP might find some also)

I appreciate you :) I think your boundaries for yourself and the rooms you frequent are healthy and fine but yeah.. just wanted to give context/food for thought so I'm glad that my ramble did so. I very much hope the OP funnels his frustration at these scams into frustration at the complex reasons they exist in the first place. No one should feel pushed to put aside their boundaries to make a living wage. Capitalism... le sigh.

There's so much behind these choices (and I haven't touched on studio models experiences because I've never had this but I recently shot with an American model who described an experience that was incredibly abusive in a US based studio so I think there's a lot of pressure even in US domestic studios)

I think the BEST way members can encourage less deceitful practices in models is to make sure that the models they visit feel comfortable to express boundries, have them respected, and feel like their comfort isn't unimportant (and won't cost them $$). The more members that do this (and especially who model this behavior in public chat/online space) the better things will get I think.

I'm posting this list to kinda reality check this whole idea of a "scam" a bit. Models are constantly asked to choose between paychecks and things they may not be comfortable with
Your whole post made me feel so connected.

There are so many things I look back on over the years and realize that I embellished it, or even endured it, because it's what drew the crowds and allowed me to make very large income goals.

I'm sure my regulars realized I stopped doing anal related shows a long time ago. It's something that I relied on for mega months to bring in a $1-2k token night. But it was so stressful, and only partially enjoyable. I always felt deceptive even though I put on fantastic shows and made the best of it.

There are a ton of things everyone's "favorite cam model" does to get what she needs to get done.

This thread has really reinforced my respect for cam models. It has also made me reflect upon my own biases and my resulting behavior. I am sticking by my friend. I will continue to support her in any way I can, even if it means just kind words, and lots and lots of tips. :)
