I checked these forums to see if anyone had similar issues, didn't see anything beyond basic resolution problems or unrelated technical issues - but then again it's me. Splitcam's forums didn't really give any answers, either.

No matter which resolution I switch to, and whether I go with Wide or Square Pixels, when I try to broadcast with my HD camera I get black bars on the top and bottom of my screen. I can't get rid of them. :-/

Are the black bars cutting of part of your picture?

Nope. It just looks like "widescreen". Black bar on top and bottom. I've double-checked the video source and tried every single resolution, both square and wide pixels.

It doesn't do it in screenshots, but it does it in my MFC feed. Members complained about it. One member started running his mouth about how I wasn't actually on cam and was clearly just playing a video until I told him to either shut up or get out of my room. His rebuttal was "that's not proof, they can play different clips so it looks like she's reacting".

Your cam should be set at 640x480 4:3 format in splittcam

Go in the cam preferences NOT via the splitcam ones.

Changing the resolution there was the next thing I did. I still get black bars.
I've also already updated my camera's driver. And Splitcam itself. And made sure that Splitcam is the source of the video stream on MFC. And checked all of those settings, as well.

I'm going to look for different software. I'm just trying to record video/take snapshots during shows.
