So, I was told by a friend of mine in real life about a camming studio. I had never done anything like that before, and she talked it up so much that I decided to give it a try.
After trying it for a month and a half, I came to the conclusion I would do a lot better from home and asked if I could move from the studio (which I never made my required 20 hours at because it was across town) to my own home. I was told I had to wait 90 days and thought it was ridiculous.
I tried to get them to let me work from home, but I couldn't. My studio owner tried to punk me into staying, saying I wouldn't make anything from home and that its a waste of time blah blah (which I know isn't true, considering I had 20% commission at this studio).

Anyways, my studio leader told me he terminated my account (which he lied about, because I had to email them to close it).
And now, according to "studio" policy, I can't have another account on Streamate for 480 days unless my studio leader releases me (said by Streamate support) or 6 months (said by my studio owner).
This seems ridiculous to me! I was never informed of this policy (I made sure I read everything I signed at the studio) and it's not anywhere in Streamate's ToS as far as I could see.

My studio leader was a tyrannic asshole, which is why I wanted to leave, on top of me wanting to work from home. Obviously he won't release me from the studio for 6 months apparently.

Is there any way around this that anyone can think of? If I wouldn't have been lied to when I joined with all these fake promises and had a dick of a studio leader (who also creeped me out and made me feel uncomfortable), I wouldn't have quit.
But I just don't know what to do and don't want to not be able to rejoin or have to join back to that stupid studio!

What does your contract say exactly? And what are the provisions to break it up?
Does it prevent you to register to another camsite?
Does it prevent you to use your "brand" (camname) elsewhere?
etc…

And yeah, your friend is not a friend: assuming your username is the same, it says you live on "west coast of the USA" on your profile, and I don't see any good reason to be associated with a studio in the US, unless you can't have privacy where you live.

My contract isn't on me, and the studio owner is a freaking 12 year old and told me he was blocking my number because I was calling him out on his crap, so I don't think I could even get ahold of it if I wanted to.
But I never remember reading anything in my contract about that. I made sure to read everything thoroughly.
The only provisions to break it (said by SM support) were to have my studio owner release me, but he won't.
- No, he even suggested I just go to another camsite.
- No, but I changed it a bit anyways. (Used to be Aubree_Moore)

And that is why I initially joined a studio-- I lived with my parents still. I just moved out a few days ago and am no longer worried about it.

Whenever there is a contract involved, you ALWAYS get a copy to keep for yourself.

Also, this is pretty typical of most Studios. They almost always will say you can't work either for another studio or for yourself for a certain period of time after you terminate your contract with them. In the mean time, there are other webcam sites you can try out like Chaturbate or Myfreecams or many more.

If they didn't offer one to you that should have been a red flag right there. In the future, with any contract always get a copy.

Good luck on the other sites. :)

Him not even speaking proper English should've too /: I just tried to give the benefit of the doubt!
Thank you for your advice though! Gunna apply for model status on here.

I can't recall her contact information, but you might try contacting Vanessa about your situation. She might be able to help you terminate your previous account completely and get you signed up through her. She works for Streamate and is their head recruiter, I believe. If anyone who has her information or knows more about that wants to chime in, that would be cool. :thumbleft:

I think her twitter is Streamate Recruiting, AW models or something like that.

So what should I speak to her about? o:
Cus SM support told me otherwise so I don't know what to ask her about?

Just sent her a message with this thread link and the forwarded messages from SM. Hopefully she can help!

While MFC does not have this policy, many cam sites have agreements with studios that they will not open accounts for models who leave for a certain period of time. Streamate is not the only site that works like this. Most private-oriented sites make this type of commitment to studios.

Studios are a major source of performers for cam sites, especially Eastern European and South American models. While there are a lot of shitty studios, many do actually teach models how to get started. These sites calculate that they would rather keep good relationships with studios who supply fresh, young performers year-in, year-out on a regular basis than accommodate the occasional model who might quit the business a month after she makes a new account after leaving the studio.

I agree with contacting Vanessa and seeing if she can help. If nothing in your contract said you had to wait so long to work on SM again then they should not be able to try to come up with some rule now. You didnt sign that at all nad they can not just add it on without you signing a new contract with them. Now whether or not the studio itself has a deal with SM that I would not know about. Vanessa should be able to tell you that though. Your last effort if Vanessa can not help you is maybe contact Boleyn Girl studio. While they are a studio they have been successful with another shitty studio pulling this crap on girls and have gotten them out of their contracts. The pay is better and you can work from home and all so it's a studio but better working conditions and a lot of girls have said positive things about them. Worth a last ditch effort like I said. Good luck !
