I mean granted they're not being a nuisance but I'm completely baffled as to what purpose they actually serve in the webcam ecosystem.

I find lurking to be more of a nuisance than people talking shit tbh, it's off putting to be in a room of people and no one is interacting in any way. Best way to explain it is imagine throwing a party, everyone comes, sits and just stares at you not saying or doing anything else.

Sidenote; as a perimenopausal woman also, I finally found something that works for me. Everyone is different though and different things will work for every person. I asked for HRT because it was getting so bad. And they started me on birth control pills as a form of HRT. However I have never been able to tolerate birth control pills due to always having very exaggerated side effects from them, that are more serious than a lot of people typically get. At this point in my life I've been tried on about 11 different types of birth control pills, and every single one of them has resulted in some crazy, VERY extreme side effect. Every. Single. One. I'm talking stuff my doctor has never even heard of before in all of her many decades of practice.

So they switched me to the estrogen patch, and then progesterone pills at night. That is working for me. Not a super high dose of estrogen. Not a super high dose of progesterone. It's actually working out really great. Over the course of about 5 years my perimenopause symptoms got so bad that they were definitely impacting my relationships, my ability to work, and all kinds of other things ( my sleep, my digestion all of it). So far fingers crossed the estrogen patch is working for me, with progesterone pills before bed.

My medical situation is complicated though and I have several other pre-existing conditions which I take medication for. So definitely not saying this would work for everyone. But I'm thankful that it's working for me. Wanted to bring it up here in the public part of the forum, so if other ladies read, they are aware of some of the many options. I tried exercising and diet. I exercise like crazy and I eat so healthy. I did that for months, and it didn't barely even make a tiny dent. I guess some of us just need something.

There are probably other options too. I know there are natural options & all kinds of stuff.

I have ADHD too though which is a structural difference in the brain that is genetic. Perimenopause is known to affect the dopamine system quite a bit, which is the system that is already affected when a person has ADHD. So it's not uncommon for people with ADHD to have very extreme symptoms during perimenopause. A lot of women start to have symptoms of in attention and things that are usually associated with ADHD. People who already had a problem with that, crash out completely, because it was already bad to begin with. According to the research I've been doing and the stuff that doctors are writing about in books and putting putting out there. I am medicated for ADHD and everything. But the perimenopause got to the point where the medications weren't barely working anymore. But now that I'm taking the hormones along with with the medications for the ADHD, it's working normal again. Anyways back to work

I feel the same way, and that's similar to my experience on MFC these past few nights. I'm at the end of my rope with this shit. Members not wanting to interact. Why not just visit my room in guest mode then? Why bother logging into your premium account if you're not gonna talk or tip? I don't want to see you camping out in my room, or hiding in the PM Viewer to watch me if you won't even respond to my hellos or tip. Members sitting in my room with their hundreds of tokens visible, and not responding to my greetings at all. I just kicked out a member who was camped out in my free chat while his token amount was going down before my eyes (meaning he was tipping some other model while camped out in my room ignoring me).

Dude last night typed in the chat "I did say hi to you bb. I PMed you." (My PMs are set to "friends" only, so I didn't get it). Um...why are you (a member who's never interacted with me or tipped me) entering my free chat and immediately trying to PM me???

I earned 73 tokens on Saturday night, and then 27 tokens last night. I'm currently 78 tokens away from making the minimum for payout (400 tokens/$20). The 1 token tips happen way more frequently these days. Men with short attention spans who say "brb" because they want to room hop, and I guess go visit other models who are in the middle of a cum show.

Members acting like models are supposed to be live 24/7, and then when we do go live they're whining "I missed you. Where you been?" Um...recovering from my day job (relaxing a few hours after I get home before it's time to go to bed again), and having a personal life outside of cam. That's where tf I've been.

Got dressed up so pretty a few weeks ago to do a pre-birthday live stream for a few hours (wore a birthday hat, birthday sash, "Birthday Babe" pin, pink birthday decor on the wall, birthday themed tip menu, birthday playlist I'd created on YouTube)...for one person...maybe two people...to type a dry "happy birthday" into the chat, and I got a grand total of 44 tokens that night. The few familiar members who did visit me didn't even acknowledge my birthday at all, even though it was obvious from what I was wearing and my room decor that I was celebrating my birthday. That was very disappointing and upsetting.

I have the same happen on my broadcast. I'm so sorry they failed to aknowlage your Birthday. They never aknowlage mine either and it is disapointing.

Years ago they used to acknowledge birthdays, send gifts just because without expecting a ton back. But it slowly changed through COVID and all the economy stuff. It's not just you two, a lot of them just can't or won't anymore. But belated Happy Birthday to both of you from me at least

I used to get $100 tips all the time, just because on SM. Guys would pay me 100-700 just to be unblocked, but slowly after COVID all that stopped. Now they pay a dollar to cuss me out via DM from a 2nd sock account, if I block them. Sucks man. Really does.

Imo some of its the economy and some of its due to the success all those people stirring up hate between men and women have had. They are the ones who have profited off of it. And of course all the dipshits in our industry who have done cons etc and made people hate and distrust us more.

Yeah, it’s definitely not the same anymore, which is why I went back to getting a “regular” clock in and out job a few years ago. I stopped bothering with room topic goals too, because I don’t need the embarrassment anymore. And this 1-token tip b.s isn’t doing anything but giving me bus money for work.

I used to have a regular on MFC who would, every year for my birthday, tip me 1,000 tokens. It (and him visiting me on cam) stopped some years ago, and I’m pretty sure it’s because he was disappointed that I’d stopped using dildos (and was using vibrators instead).
