Unfuckingbelievable. Only incels want this.

This is what the world is gonna get soon.

ok sry.... also not sry... its conspiracy time: There is a lot of money in ai right now. Like A LOT of money. People are comparing it to the dot com bubble. I compare it to the beginning of the the automotive industry. It's something that can be useful, and people pushing can make some money on it. But.... big but.... Thats not enough for these fucks. They are going to sabotage other industries we use in our day to day lives to the point where ai is the answer. Think of like when GM and Firestone got together and sabotaged public transport to make personal transport the only answer. Soon all these mother fuckers are going to make it so everyone thinks that everyone in online sex work or sex work in general is hurting themselves, or just make the verification laws and censorship laws soooo difficult to navigate that ai will clearly be the only answer. With this much money involved why wouldn't there be lobbying and think tanks in place to change public perception on any thing and everything that is a niche of any sort that ai can fill. The internet isn't for people, its for ai. Service isn't for people, its for ai. Creative anything is for ai. ect ect ect and the majority of the people will complain and complain but still vote in favor of everything ai anyways because its fucking shiny and their kids are safe.

Not for me thanks. But I think this step was a logical evolution of the internet and digital technology, it has to adapt to stay so relevant in mainstream lives.

But from my POV, I will choose a real, live, human being no matter what health concerns, mood swings, expressive emotions, and whatever flaws they think they have, every second of every day.

I generally agree, but there is more to it. For example I use ChatGPT a lot in my cam work. I ask it to summarize recent news on the sites, recent Reddit posts, it gives me very useful hints about prices and helps me evaluate statistics quickly in a way that have actually been quite exhausting the last times I tried this job. It is simply so enormously useful I cannot even fully explain all aspects of how much cognitive load it takes off me.

But that being said, yes, it changes the world as we see it and often in a way that is not entirely optimized for humans. We will soon use Internet mostly through AI in a way that makes AI the primary user for web sites and forums and such.

oh I'm not for ai at all lol.... I'm generally speaking lol The things I see it useful for I guess, is things we would never use in day to day lives like scientific research, medical research and coding (not vibe coding though lol)

But like how the car ruined our cities, and the people building them decided it was better than railway for us and stuff. How it ended up making it harder to be poor.

Watch out with this, one thing I noticed is it will infer things from what it thinks is related to the data rather than just going off the data itself. It will assume that because x is true on one site that it will be the same on every site and it will give that assumption more weight in it's analysis than the actual data you provide, or it will use that often incorrect assumption to fill in gaps in the data rather than be like "I need this data but it's not here"

ETA: Still useful, just something to watch out for because it can massively change how useful the info you get is

Absolutely, yes. I am fully aware of this but it is very good to point out. When it happens it is often easy though to point it in the right direction by making it aware of contradictions and such. It is also possible to use a secondary layer on top of it where you ask ChatGPT about how to ask ChatGPT and what risks there could be with asking it in a particular way. It takes some practice to use it efficiently, but once there it is incredibly useful.

Do you find using AI reduces your work load or just moves it? 99% of the time whenever I use AI to do anything I find it either creates more work for me (having to vet the info (and my god I am sure their system prompt contains "use as many tokens as possible in your response" because the amount of irrelevant bullshit you get included in the response is crazy), cross reference it, correct it and then re-run the cycle).

With coding I find it adds a huge amount of extra work, I'll get something back that looks functional but when I start reviewing the code it does a bunch of stupid shit. The twitter vibe coders are like you need to set up all these files, tell it how to write every single function, how they all work together, and I'm just like "this sounds like more work than writing the program myself" 😂

ETA: I am wondering if people think it's faster because it feels faster, because you only feel like your doing something a couple of minutes and the AI is doing the rest, but the rest of the work that you do around it that isnt thought about so dosnt feel like it counts towards a tasks time. Or if they genuinely couldn't do the task faster without it. I know for me once I factor in the time it takes to review and fix things it's normally faster for me to just do the thing myself. But it does have the ease of removing the blank page.

One thing that kind of upsets me is that I've watched a local music scene go from a wide range of creative different art on show flyers and now a lot of them all have the same ai thing going on. Sometimes the really horrible flyers still looked nice. I love me a punk flyer made by someone with no artistic talent lol.

CHATGPT Create me an unchallenging wank
CHATGPT Give her only 5 fingers but keep everything else the same
CHATGPT No, 5 fingers, not 2 vaginas
CHATGPT Make her look less like Clint Eastwood
CHATGPT Fuck right off AI shit
<opens underwear catalog and goes full on 1980s at the wanking>

lol just realized I'm using ai for my pfp haha fuck im guilty too

I work for a network agency and the global owners have completely restricted all AI platforms for everyone, globally. We deal with medical writing and big pharma - e.g. the risk of medical writers using AI is too great.

We’re building our own LLM based on our own data/output but this has had to be severely sandboxed and restricted and is in effect its own entity for legal reasons.

AI NEEDS regulation, not Donald Trump.

ETA: had to get a Trump jibe in there 👍🏼

It's nice to hear that at least some companies are taking the fact that often the information it gives is wrong rather than saying it dosnt have the info into account. This is one of the area's (medical) where I think it should be completely restricted until it's proven to work reliably, like 99.99% success rate.

Totally, I work on the digital side but I can’t access GPT, Claude, et al on my work MacBook.

We outsource our dev but obviously medical writing in house is a totally different. Our clients are terrified of AI, from a medical communications perspective.

Lots of good stuff outside of that though in the med/science community…
