Why is it that the media has overlooked the fact that she is a radical feminist? They treat her like shes a liberal feminist and turn a blind eye to her extreme views on sexuality in video games.

It doesn't matter to the media what she is. The Media's interest is in the drama and amount of people that want to view the drama. Why film a police chase for hours on TV? It gets rating even if it turns out nothing important happened.

Some actual criticism on Tropes vs. Women in Video Games

Has she ever called herself a radical feminist? I've never seen her being especially radfem-y aside from being anti-sex work. I don't think she'd be nearly as successful in the circles she's popular in if she openly called herself a radical feminist. (That's not to say she isn't one; there are lots of feminists who publicly hide their radical views. I was just curious if she'd ever called herself one. I also think that being anti-porn is different than being a radical feminist; you can be anti-porn without being a radfem though I don't think you can be a radfem without being anti-porn.)

Is this a radical anti-feminist?

I hate videos that use that generic music so much. If your music has to repeat 10 times in a video choose a different music or make a shorter video.
I prefer no music.

Also not a fan of the editing youtube has seemingly made fashionable. All these little snippets of a speech stuck together so's I can watch your face jerk after every sentence.

I have watched both Anita and criticisms of her for years and never once gotten a radfem vibe from her.

Yeah, her use of "prostituted women" always grated me but she's also vocally supportive of trans issues which is very un-radfem so I was kind of confused by that. I don't think all feminists slot perfectly into rad or lib feminism.

Tried to watch the videos Guy posted of her. Bored tears out of me mostly. Equal rights for virtual women?

Anyway, spent years beating up/killing virtual men in video games. Where is the howling for them? Isn't feminism supposed to be for men too (or at least that's what some say)?

The whole thing just sounds more absurd the more I look into it.

I couldn't make it through the video because of that, and also what she said there are already thousand anti-feminism videos on the internet if you can't say something interesting in the first two minutes, I'm not giving you 7.

  • "Equality for men/women" is not solely owned by feminism.
  • Feminism focuses on equality of outcome, not equality of opportunity.
  • Feminism lies.
  • Feminism in favor of authoritarian social engineering.
  • Feminist identity politics demands surrender of individuality.
  • Feminism only interested in feminists; not really interested in women (and certainly not men).
  • An element in feminism is actually about destroying the family.
  • She is not going to support Hillary Clinton, promiscuity, shaming of men for liking models, and internet censorship just because of her "feels and her ovaries"
Most of these youtube videos (including this one) leave me flat. I was just curious what camp these blasphemies put her in.

Well, I see where he is coming from. She is clearly full of shit. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. But I'm not sure his approach of getting wound up and ranting to his webcam is healthy (for him).

I enjoy playing dumb when the Jehovah's Witnesses stop by, and then turning up the heat on them little by little to see how long before they figure shit out and bail. Damned if I am going to sit there and make youtube videos about their crap though.

Not all radfems are anti-trans.

That's debatable but more to the point, what *does* make you think Anita Sarkeesian is a radfem?

Do you think everyone who is anti-porn is a radfem?

Yeah, like, a LOT of feminists are anti-porn. That isn't all it takes to be a radfem.

Have y'all seen how this GOP dude was outed as being the creator of /r/redpill? If anyone doesn't like "redpill-ers" (?) being labelled deluded misogynistic monsters, thank this guy!

A bit silly to judge a group based on one person, especially when you can judge the group as a whole and come to a similar conclusion. Can we blame one person for modern day feminists being seen as nothing more than angry and undesirable monsters? Your predictable and lazy trolling aside, glad you posted instead of your usual button mashing. Appreciate the chuckles. I'd ask if you watched it and what you thought but I'm sure you haven't and even if you did, I doubt it changed your mind on anything.

If you're so "anti-button mashing", then why do you leave ratings?? :troll:

Unlike "feminism" which has existed for over a century and has had many public "representatives", the "red pill theory" has only existed for short amount time with a handful of "leaders" publicly promoting their "cause". Therefore, I figured that bringing up the story about perhaps the person who made misogyny synonymous with being "red pilled", might interest people in this thread.

And of course I'm not going to waste my time watching some pseudo-feminist "documentary" that paints misogynists in a forgiving light, when I could just read everyone's comments instead! #StayWoke ;)

Why make up your own mind and form your own opinion when you can just shitpost. Not very woke sounding to me but thanks for more chuckles.

eta- just happy to see the cringe crew showing up, still missing one but I bet she shows up to mash some buttons

He was also a Democrat dude according to the article. Typical.

That is one thing I have seen that is unfortunate with the MGTOW/MRA thing. Seems some men (if you discount shilling/trolling/propaganda/spin) have let bitterness turn them anti-female, as opposed to just anti-feminist. This is why I wanted to meet some of these groups IRL after seeing the documentary.

I went for Clinton in the last election. I was willing to completely write off voices such as Milo, ignoring them when able, getting annoyed when I couldn't. The whole Red Pill/rape culture topic has opened my mind up to other perspectives in this regard though.

My main problem with both groups has always been both having too many man/woman haters associated with them. Both sides have likable and logical people but they seem to be a tiny minority. It's cool that you were open minded enough to see things in a different light, rare quality these days.

I watched the documentary a while ago and loved it. I have such a crush on Cassie Jaye. She is gorgeous and adorable.

But I came here to post this Youtube video that I found very interesting, in which a panel of people from all sides of the feminist/MRA spectrum discussed the film and its greater implications.

One thing I could relate to from "The Red Pill" (the documentary) was listening to Cassie Jaye talk about what she went through mentally, shedding some of her feminist indoctrination. It can be a terrible upheaval, depending on how much of one's identity is tied to the religion of feminism.

Some may be at the point where they are realizing there is an element in feminism that is overtly racist and sexist. They may be realizing that feminism is all about cultivating an army of "useful idiots", people who will sacrifice all in the war without ever having a real chance of partaking in the spoils. They may be realizing this movement is all about enslavement, not liberation. They may be realizing that the "justice" they have been brainwashed into chasing is nothing more than a carrot and stick routine. They may be realizing their good intentions have been co-opted by the very evil they wish to fight.

It can be so frightening! Just a quick reminder, you don't have to go it alone!

I was just reading an article on the rise of Muscle Dysmorphia (Bigorexia), one statistic now has it up to 4 times more undiagnosed than Anorexia. More personal trainers and gym owners are beginning to speak up about this new plague of body dysmorphia mainly striking men.

Anyone older who spends serious time around men will know how much locker room chat has changed in recent years and how many men will enable such body insecurity with how they talk about their body/ fitness.
It is a culture developing in men that we must try to stop. The kinds of mental problems that develop don't just affect body image; for men they can be outwardly expressed in some really immature and violent ways when that insecurity is exposed.

When it comes to male (or female) focused groups, we must try to stay ahead of the game and catch worrying trends before they develop into full blown cultural norms.

An example of what this looks like in a practical sense. It tends to be quite little things.
A few years ago I stopped doing cam to cam interactions, due to some of the body talk from models. Things such as body compliments laced with 'you would have an even better body if you spent more time in the gym' suggestions. I find that dangerous to listen to, especially from women who I am sexually passionate about.
There is no animosity towards the comments as they are not meant to be harmful. Harmful social trends develop in ignorance, they are usually not visible until that group exposes them, and change is slow.

This type of body dysmorphia developing is but a small example of changing sexual politics that is tending towards being harmful to men in the same way women have been harmed in terms of body issues. (Two wrongs don't make a right, this is not real equality.)
If we want equality it will as always take both sexes and voices to achieve it. Small steps and vigilance by many groups seems to be the best path: when we notice a serious concern/ trend we can both work to find more equality.

A far more bothersome trend for me is the "we must try to stop" mentality. Or at least its excesses.

The equality I prefer to see (regarding social issues) is liberty, and I am sick to death of disorders and undiagnosed problems that we need to raise awareness about.

The two biggest problems I see now:
  • People need to quit believing everything they read about or see a show on, and instead start questioning every bit of it
  • People need to quit trying to tie serious issues to every little slight that comes their way
Somebody acting out in immature and violent ways should be separated from the problem of insecurities. Immature and violent behaviour is society's problem; dealing with insecurities is an individual's problem.

I agree with your suggestion that there is a double standard. But I don't think adopting practices that I am increasingly beginning to view as imbecilic is the answer.
