My original thread is here: https://www.ambercutie.com/forums/threads/camming-after-loss-of-mother.37339/

I felt I should update my previous thread, hopefully I am posting in the right place. I will say I came to this site when all this first started and read the threads on Romanian Love Scams because I was concerned. Yeah, I know, another one, roast me all you want...but I feel now I should put this out there so others who may see it can avoid what I went through, as the scam is a little different, and a little more insidious. I also know the models on this site don't do this sort of thing, and that the vast majority are honest. This is by no means meant to be a stereotype.

When I posted originally, I failed to say the "girlfriend" of mine and I had yet to meet due to coronavirus. I wonder now what would have happend if I showed up in Iasi on April 1st as planned, but it would have saved me a lot of suffering that's for sure. I will try to keep things short. A little background first

For a few months when the "romance" first started, I could not and would not pay on the site she used because I was going through a protracted divorce and I knew she only got a small portion of anything from the site. Plus she supposedly didn't want me to. We talked about this. She asked me to help with rent for her and her mother (because she didn't want her to know her job supposedly) in April so she could work from home when things shut down. In May she supposedly took a huge citation for not properly social distancing, which was a real thing in Romania, trust me I checked. I told her I would help best I could, but I was not doing well myself.

Here is where the crazy stuff starts....

She told me her studio had made a contest, first girl to a certain amount would win an extra $2k. This meant that she would make as much as I spent on tokens or more if she won. Perfect, I thought, "what great luck we have, now I can use a credit card to help"...nope! After this, more contests that of course had ever greater rewards, more money, win a car for "us", she was going to buy land for "us", ect. Eventually when things became hard, as I was always honest about financial and all things, she began to say she would pay me back. If I needed something, I could use her card, account....even sending me pictures of fake bank transfers that always failed. The crux de gras was to tell me she wanted to come to the university here, which meant a visa even in coronavirus times. Of course she needed to win more contests, and a final one to make sure she got paid before November 1st, the deadline to apply. I gave her the last I had, and told her I was relying on her to get it back to me fast, so I could pay my bills. A few days later, after she quit to "move to Belgium" for school (something planned I knew about), she ghosted me and blocked me on all forms of communication. Eventually I got her to email me, She admitted she had not applied, despite telling me twice she did, and I had an email from the university saying the same. Said she lost the money to taxes, but then posted photos of herself on vacation on her instagram, still living in Romania. Eventually I found evidence of more of the lies after I started thinking with my head instead of my heart. I will be paying for this life lesson for a long time.

Apparently she used her mothers death to get out of meeting like I talked about in the original post. She did give me her real name, address, phone #, mothers name other personal details, I have and had verified all these. I don't know why you would do that if you were trying to scam someone, but she did. I did what I should have done long ago when "dating" someone online from another country, I went to a background check company. Not much on it she had not already told me, but no civil citation and most disturbing I found was both parents were still alive. I had spent a lot of time and emotion helping her with that. I had found an old news article from a few years ago, when this first started, that said her and her boyfriend had blackmailed another girl with nude photos. I thought he was the ex. The guy got probation and a suspended sentence. I later found she had given me this guys phone number to "vote" for her in one of the contests. She even sent me photos of him and said he was an old "friend".

That's the short story. So I guess my warning is, no matter how much someone says they hate liars, are not fake, or even give you real personal information, there are some people out there that will mix as much truth, and maybe even real feelings, with lies to make the deception more real and play with your feelings and emotions. Part of me still wants to think she lied at the end because she was tired of ruining my life, she had said before she felt toxic to those she cared about. Maybe she was a pathological liar, didn't even know she was lying. Maybe someone else manipulated her into manipulating me. The gaslighting at the end though, telling me I had trust issues, makes that hard to believe now. I just worry other models from that studio (yes, I know its name) will try to use the same thing on other kind hearted and caring people. I have a recurring nightmare of her and others working together to see how much crazy things they can tell me and have me still be supportive. Yes, I'm seeing a trauma specialist.

In conclusion, any one in a similar situation, if something doesn't seem right or feels confusing, or if your here looking for validation for something....trust your instinct or ask more questions, because by the end you may not be able to get the answers.

Welp, if I understood correctly how some of those studio work, the studio itself might be the one training them from the get go to manipulate that way, and yes I'm sorry to say, they 100% talk to each others about tactics and ways to scam you more, and depending on their relationships with their boyfriends too if they have one and he knows, I unfortunately personally know this.

Thank you for the conclusion to the story, it's gonna help some realize hopefully before it gets out of hand like it did for you, good luck with the recovery ! :)

You dudes need to stick to cranking your yanks.

Sorry what happened OP. That sucks. I'm glad you were able to get out of that toxic emotionally manipulative relationship.

big propz to you for sharing your story, which i am very sure will help a lot people in the future that supposedly fell for love and maybe will find this post.

i wish you much luck in recovering from that loss.

female cam models that do this job for a long time are getting very "smart", due those tons and tons of very intimate conversations they have with men, they gain lots of experience and EQ, they always will be in a position where they easily will be able to outsmart/outplay every avarage men if they just wanted to do so.

while i am very sure its possible to get together with a cam model (primarly from some "poorer" countries), there always will be risks involed, because everybody should see this as clear as it really is, men "fall in love" because of the exotic beautiness of the model (thinking with their third leg) and the models "fall in love" because they potentially see a much brighter future for themself in you or the benefits in general. even if you found an "honest/legit" one, one that does not try to just milk and drain all your money, it still always will be some type of a trade/deal, like some unspoken "arranged" partnership/marraiage, which - not get me wrong - dont must be a bad thing perse, it could work out indeed for both sides, but everybody just need to admit those truths. its the only real reason that makes sense, the only real reason a model (which proably will be very attractive and have a high sexual market value) will choose a men from the west or so called first world and not take one from down there.

in RO/BG even if the models got a university degree, it will not grant a high salary job or any employment at all, because the educationlevel there is also inflated like in most countries these days, i am sure nearly every woman born after 1990 will be studying something and most of them will be able to get any university degree, but in reality the avarage real earner in fulltime+ jobs (no matter the degree) still maybe gets +/- 300 USD/Euro a month, which sure will be enough to survive...

but every additional 50 or 100 USD/Euro they will earn will have a much much higher impact! on their quality of life (if they primarly live in the countryside down there, a couple of grand still could be a livechanging amount of money! to help the family or whatever), thats the reason why there are so many woman from down there doing this job, even if they get just a little amount of tokens from a user, they still will add up at the end of the month to an amount which will be at least the same or even higher as they proably could earn in a fulltime+ job, and as additional benefit they will be their own boss and could work from home and decide about their own working hours, its just the smartest way to go if they got a little selfesteem and confidence.

Not true of normal cam models. I spend and have spent 0 time having "intimate" convos with men. Sometimes weirdos try to get that way, and talk like that, and I cut them off. That is less than 2% of men and 0 percent of regulars I have. My time is spent stripping, and doing pornographic or fetish acts for money. I've been doing this 6 years, and saying full time cam models do that, flat out isn't true at all. This is something scamming models may do, and that some men apparently imagine happens lol.

I look at dicks being jerked off for money, and convo goes; "Ooooh baby yeah... ok now from behind... oh yeah baby... oh fuck baby... thanks baby, that was great. Kisses. Happy Holidays.". Then I get a message saying; You have received 10 GOLD from Superrod6969. In free chat I talk about banal superficial things or joke in an impersonal way, as most men prefer. I have 0 desire or want to talk about anything intimate with my regulars, and I can guarantee they feel the exact same.

Who TF are these cam models having intimate conversations?
Am I wrong here models? Are the rest of you guys having intimate convos? I won't even talk to a guy unless it's business/ cock related, so guys who go on about themselves and their lives and life problems, get blocked. Maybe it's just me, but that's how I make good money. Why are some men saying we are experienced at having intimate convos? Isn't that just raging paranoia, or is this part of token sites or something? Because its not like this for me on SM at all. This isn't the first time I've heard a member say that same thing here, so I'm really genuinely curious wtf they are talking about? What models are they visiting that do this?

Just saying... perhaps from a Buyer's point of view, you might want to be suspicious of models who encourage all this intimacy and familiarity, because to me, that just flat out isn't normal. So maybe that should be a first warning sign.

ETA; Glad you've come to your senses OP, and are warning others not to be duped.

Assuming this was being done on a cam site,
You should report them.
Not a long rambling report.
Just the specifics.
They asked you to give them money, and promised to pay you back. Along with any documentation that specially support this claim.

Nothing will probable happen from it, but who knows maybe the cam site will take notice and take action.

I think it's an Eastern European thing. I visit this Polish model and she always asks how my day was. I usually tell her it was pretty boring, but then she says 'Oh but do tell, I want to know more about you!'. So I tell some of my boring moments of the day and somehow she finds it all very interesting.
I don't thinks she's someone that would scam. But it does seem EE models go more for the emotional connection than the Western Europe/American models.

@EliMarie717 On token sites its more common to have a community and buddy-buddy relationship with regulars, but its very clearly not a romantic one. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a popular independent NA cammodel pull one of these scams, at least not here on the forum.

Like makko said, I think this is a studio thing...There are plenty of naive and lonely people of there, and its built into their business model to capitalize on that. (Not saying ALL studios and EE models, but a lot as evidenced by the examples on this forum). Love scams are an old con, and camsites create an ideal platform. Think of how many ppl we get coming thru our chats who dont understand what camming is and think its dating.

@EliMarie717

first of all, i can just tell from my experience, the things i see as a regular user/customer of token sites (just sites like CB)

and i am also not speaking about the models that are more- or semi- successful with 100+ users in their channel which already have their higher 5- or 6-digit follower counts, because as you have explained it correctly, they dont have the time anyway to start any "deeper" conversations besides the simple and appropriate responses to the multiple incoming tips per minute from the different users.

but those models are not the majority on CB, they are maybe just the upper 25% and there are thousends of other models doing hourlong shifts and they only got maybe just 5-20 users in their channel best case and maybe have 4 to low 5-digit follower counts, which mainly split up in two major groups, one half of it from south america who barly speak and understand any english without google translation, and the other half is from eastern europe. and those last group often speaks english on a very fluent level due to their high level of education (as mentioned before, a lot of them started studying at least something at some point in their life)

and as Makko described it before, its a very common behavior of some of them to involve users in converstations on their own! some in public chat and some by pm or both combined, i think there are various reasons why they do this (keeping the room alive and users engaged or just keeping them there (maybe for ranking reasons idk), some may just try to lowkey upsell into PM or privates or other stuff, or just trying to give the user a good or secure feeling so he will come back in near future and some of them seem to be just honest interested in the users life... maybe sometimes just with bad intentions as we have learned already... and some other really seem to search their ticket into a supposedly better world)

its mainly those group of cam models that i meant with my post above. they are chatting more or less intensively with hundrets or thousends of users (men) in their career, and as i said before they are very smart. they gain a lot of experience when it comes on reading a mens mind and his intentions and they can interpret any future behavior very accurate or even be able to direct/manipulate it in some smaller ways, just if they wanted to do so. its just a skill they have gained at work, and the average user typically does not have this same background of experience and lacks most that.

so it never will be an even situation (especially when it comes to "love"), the cam model is like a salesman from a backyard preowned cardealership which sells hundrets of cars a year, while you are the average customer that buys 3 cars in your whole lifetime... if you are not carefully, there at least is a high risk of getting outsmarted

Thanks for explaining, this is so foreign to me. I get so confused when guys talk about it, as in I think to myself; "in what universe are they finding these cam models they are talking about?". In my mind, I feel like if I ever tried stuff like that (don't worry I won't) that it would be really offputting to the guys who visit my room, and that I would make no money because it would come across as really fake and intrusive. As you said, I guess some people must be good at doing that, in a way where it seems genuine. If I tried stuff like that, trust me, it would be so awkward and uncomfortable for everyone. Just because I would not be able to pull it off.

Don't get me wrong, I like people and I'm interested in their lives, but to get to the point where I would say I'm having an intimate convo ... it just doesn't happen in a camming context. I feel like if it did, it would send some really mixed signals, and so I'm very uncomfortable with it. I guess when I hear you guys explain this I'm wondering; "but wouldn't that mean they would be having deep intimate convos with tens of men at a time, at the least?" How would they remember all the details? How would they know which men were worth all of the manipulation, and which men would find it really off-putting? Would they not worry about attracting a potential stalker? Or at the very least a guy that is going to flip out and get really, really angry when they figure out they've been being bullshitted for months?

Anyway thanks to all of you for explaining (@thinkinboutit and @Makko too). I think me trying to find logic in this behavior (on the part of this style of the model) likely isn't going to happen and is probably a lost cause/ futile effort on my part.

And I agree, I wish these types of studios would go away too. It makes my job even harder as well. It's gonna set men up to expect services that I flat out can't and wont provide.

I honestly wish these studios would go away.

These scammers just make my job harder. I just want to be paid to have some sexy time and entertain and not be harassed constantly with guys trying to meet me. Camming used to be more enjoyable.
I really wish other sites would follow in suite with MFC and ban studios. I know I rarely hear/read about loveconning happening there anymore. I'm sure it still happens. I truthfully feel like it helps keep the folk trying to take advantage of others checked.

A Streamate model was talking about how she reported some white label for using cam models' photos to "catfish" guys...trying to blackmail them into signing up. Something along the lines of "Sign up to this site, or we'll show such and such to your friends/family," I think? And the model's image will be attached to that message, so it's leading the guy to believe that it's THE MODEL really doing that. Smh. Pretty shitty, in addition to these sites falsely advertising, tricking guys into thinking these cam girls will "meet you" IRL (using their image). Pathetic.

I really dont blame any of the models or studious when this things are happening. Is only guys fault, becouse they are looking for this and girls got no option this is the way they making money , especialy on pvt sites like jasmin where they dont live from tips, they live from pvt and bla bla . I saw from my experience, i refuse this guys falling in love tell them im not here for that, and guess what? they go to the next room and a smarter girl is taking his money.. the guy lose anyway becouse hes looking for this beeing bored and lonely,.. im losing also becouse im not in mood for this fake love stories , the next smarter girl with patience will colect the $ ..

I disagree. You cannot build a group of fans that way that will last long term. It's not a good business move at all.

I mainly work on private based sites, don't perform for tips in free chat have been camming for years and have never ever once pretended to be in love with any customer or talk about meeting them.
Those type of guys will always quit spending once they figure out you aren't going to meet them anyway. It's not a way to make money long term. The best long term customers understand this is entertainment and nothing more.

There is a huge difference between being flirty and sexy and having fun with your clients than trying to play on emotions. It's way less draining and more fun to play with men who are in it for the fun of it.

Emotionally manipulating men and it's men's fault. WTF. Models do have the choice not to be pieces of shit and not lovecon. Hell majority of models experience dudes trying to cross boundaries don't.

Those models aren't smart but fucking garbage. Just because someone is conflating camsite as a dating site, doesn't mean that person should be taken advantage of. If you can say no to specific sex acts, you can also say no to their romantic advances

Yeah models are going to lose members of they say something they don't like. But that's apart of the business. Members come and go all the time.

true members come and go all the time and others are coming... Unfortunatly this is how is working thats why so manny treaths about this matter . Especially on livejasmin where models dont only wanna masturbate in pvt , they wanna keep long conversations also, so finding guys for long conversations going there after a while, becouse u cant talk about wheather every day,.,,start to pretend intrested in that guy life and how he feels , , guys starting to fall in love and girls are having what they need, long privates with someone that cares , she can pretend sick he dont ask her nothing just to watch her in the bed .. Thas why i am happy i work on free sites, same attention to all the room , , people tipping togheter, making goals togheter and everyone happy .

If a model doesn't want to do sex acts and talk in her privates, she is free to do so. But emotionally manipulating men into keep paying her is fucking wrong and disgusting. If a model doesn't want to do shows that are more than likely going to be sexual when working on a sex site, then maybe they should be on twitch instead.

i understand thats the best but this is how is going, guys dont spend hours talking if they dont feel for the girl . she wanna talk but sometimes thats the way. Ive changed my mind, is site fault. when we sign agreement we should both members and models sign that there wont be involved emotionaly manipulation both sides or u get banned :)

on jasmin there is not this option, u want or not sex acts u have to , if the guy requests imedialty u have to get naked and do a show, or u get penalty ..

How is this legal? In the US you cannot force someone to do sexual acts for money when they don't want to. Quit LJ then. Don't work for scumbags. There are other sites like streamate that specifically state madels aren't obligated to do everything a member asks in their ToS

goverentment/federal law > site rules

https://wiki.livejasmin.com/display/EW/Penalty+system here u can see the penalties and rules ..

  • Performers registered in the nude category need to engage in nudity and are required to follow the customers’ requests during private sessions.
that can be classified as sexual coercion and falls under sexual assualt in the US.

this is disgusting. reason 999,999 not to work LJ because they are fucking scum.

Anecdotally, LJ was the first site I tried like 10 years ago. I quickly found ACF and was steered straight.

The pay scheme sucks. And without going into gory details the customers there were some of the grossest and most abusive. Saying "no" would get you penalized. Also, leaving the cam to grab something or having your pet walk past in the background could too, if I recall correctly.

Its a studio farm, I doubt very many independent models bother with it. Its the cam equivalent of a sweatshop..

I would not be okay with tricking some dude into thinking we're gonna meet IRL and/or that I'm in love with him, whether he's a great spender or not. That's wrong, imo, and it's just doing too much for the sake of a dollar. I know there are some women who would say "Girl, FUCK his feelings! He'll get over it! You gotta hustle!" Yeah, um...NO. Others might be okay with that, but not me. There are so many other ways to make money than resorting to that. And I feel like all of that lying/playing him for a fool could backfire on you one day when he realizes that you were just playing him. You don't know how he may lash out. And then you've permanently lost a customer who may have actually been a good person. And now that you've pissed him off, he's posting everywhere to tell people what a liar and "scammer" you are.

All the times I've complained in general about how I can't stand a lying-ass man, I'm not about to do the same to some poor 'ole delusional motherfucker.

When those "Meet me" raffles were a thing on MFC, I sighed and threw my hands up in the air like that dude from 'Kenan and Kel' and said "Awww...here it go!" LMAO. Everybody else is trying to run a Skype raffle, and they've gotta compete with these girls offering to meet IRL. I remember thinking well...so much for keeping things virtual. Now these other motherfuckers are gonna be asking "How much to meet/fuck you?" even more now!

You might say "But other people use shady tactics all the time for business." Yeah, well...I'm not other people. I need to be able to live with myself and go to bed at night guilt-free. I just watched that Jennifer Lopez movie Hustlers (But those women were actually drugging guys and shit and taking their credit cards and fucking up their shit...YIKES!), and even though I loved the movie I was like DAMN, that's fucked up! I can't wait for these bitches to get caught! Lmao.

its part of the rules, jasmin if full of rules , and yes if you work in adult area if a guy enter in pvt and say get naked u must do it , if not u get penalty , they want to give to the guys what they paying for . he want show give him show , if not u can move to non nude area , but noone enter there ..

I do remember reading posts from models about how LiveJasmin will penalize models for not doing whatever the guy wants. I think that's pathetic, and I can't understand why anyone would stay on a site like that when there are other sites (with better reputations than LJ...that's for sure) that will allow you more freedom.

There are so many other ways to make money than resorting to that. And I feel like all of that lying/playing him for a fool could backfire on you one day when he realizes that you were just playing him. You don't know how he may lash out. And then you've permanently lost a customer who may have actually been a good person. And now that you've pissed him off, he's posting everywhere to tell people what a liar and "scammer" you are.
this..

someone recently updated an older thread about camgirl hustling OP into a "relationship" or a case of parasocial interaction.

long story short, he is currently getting revenge by leaving negative reviews.
