I was helping a friend with takedown requests, and came across a new site, [site name banned*7].org. If you're on MFC, you'll not only be recorded, you won't be able to successfully take down videos. In fact, if you submit a request and the automated system finds it, you'll be recorded every time you get on cam. The details are here:

This just cements and expands something that was becoming a reality to begin with. Maybe some people won't mind, but I anticipate this will really have a chilling effect on the community. I'm pretty bummed about it.

Looks like tons of video from most every model is out there already. I imagine this will be the test for MFC. If they don't pursue it I can see a lot of models getting really angry about this one. And yes, just from browsing the first few pages of listings I'd say there's a very good chance of any model on ACF being archived there already.

I'd venture to guess that guy's reasoning for DMCA being ignored and thus entirely legal won't hold water for a second in court. And when you get right down to it that site is also archiving television recordings too. So it might pay for MFC to work with the television industry to really go after the site.

Just after looking a few minutes I found LOTS of models in general and quite a few from ACF specifically. Maybe this thread should be moved to the models only section and ALL of you should start writing MFC to get them to really move on this. Or is there already a thread there about this site?

i didnt realise it was this bad....

it just means some coding work from MFC is required to stop these guys from capturing the stream.

Interesting... I just clicked on that, says my IP has been banned. Tried using a proxy, says it's been banned. WTF? Tried from my phone, says it's been banned... Hmm.

They probably don't like the idea of people viewing an MFC model's website visiting them.

After reading these I realized I should have posted the content of the letter without identifying the site... I can't see where to edit the link out, sorry for potentially driving traffic there. :?

I assume people would find themselves "banned" if they clicked the link directly from this page. It wouldn't be surprising if FG blocked Ambercutie.com as a souce/refer.

Which actually reminded me of a good security item I wanted to mention. Comodo Dragon browser (Chrome browser but they beefed up security on it) has a couple extra options in the Privacy area under settings. This is the same company that does Comodo Firewall, so they've incorporated a lot of privacy and security features into the browser.

*Do not allow websites to know where you came from (suppress HTTP Referrer header)
*Enable malware domain filtering (Comodo Secure DNS)

What makes Comodo Dragon THE Browser for the new decade?

The Comodo companies are innovative and prolific developers of online security and trust assurance solutions. The Comodo Dragon has taken the latest Chromium technology and beefed it up in the one way necessary to make it the optimum Browser to use on today's malware plagued Internet. – Superior Security and Privacy. Comodo Dragon not only gives you the complete compliment of features offered by Chromium (key features listed above), it also gives you Comodo's unsurpassed security and privacy features.

Comodo Dragon Security:

Has privacy enhancements that surpass those in Chromium's technology
Has Domain Validation technology that identifies and segregates superior SSL certificates from inferior ones
Stops cookies and other Web spies
Prevents all Browser download tracking to ensure your privacy

If you can run Chrome now you can run Comodo, it's the same just much better security. And if you prefer Firefox they have 'Comodo IceDragon' which is Firefox but beefed up on security. Basically not only a camgirl must have but anyone that doesn't like to be tracked or get malware crap should use them.

http://www.comodo.com/home/browsers-toolbars/browser.php

And if you go there take a look at the other software. They have firewalls, anti-virus, email, maintenance, encrypted cloud storage. It's pretty much a one stop shop on everything security related for your computer.

Ugh, if you scroll down to where men are making requests, one actually states that "Man, this post just blew my mind. Amazing setup. Setup a donation link and I'll gladly contribute." How about you just go to MFC and pay the models for what they do???? Many of them have videos for sale that you could purchase for your collection.

But you see, the models already make SO MUCH MONEY, sometimes even for not even masturbating AT ALL, and they spend all their money on sex toys, shiny things and slutty underwear. Those bitches don't deserve my money. I wish I could make money with my penis but nobody wants to see it.
It only makes sense that the hard-working cappers, uploaders and other heroes should be rewarded for their efforts to make the internet a more freeloader-friendly place. I'm sure the poor guys don't see a cent, while all those stupid camwhores keep raking in the cash.

:thumbleft:

this is just the kind of argument MFC needs to understand...the regular posters on the porn forums are already making cash: i seriously doubt if the guy with all the servers aimed at MFC -and the already developed legal argument- is doing this out of the goodness of his heart.

i can follow the logic that the occasional cap is "free advertising", but this is clearly exploitation, imo...or a guy with a hard on for tech and an addiction to everything y'all do on cam.

Only if you have Windows. No Mac or Linux version.
Very much true, but if you're running Mac that's your own fault!

My mind is also blown. The effort that went into making this thing is phenomenal.

A good comparison for what these people are up to is like recording broadcast TV. The show is broadcast to the word, free for anyone to watch, or with the right equipment, record. There's nothing a broadcaster can do to prevent it. If you do it in your home, nobody can stop you, and it's not even illegal. But once you start sharing it, then it becomes illegal. It'll be interesting to see if MFC enacts any mitigation techniques to try to slow these guys down.

In any case, I wouldn't get too worked up about it. It's just public shows. If people want to watch recordings of old public shows, then whatever. I personally don't see what the appeal is of archiving and sharing these shows anyways. The thing that makes cam shows interesting is interacting with them live. Take away the "live" part, and all you have is a shitty-image-quality girls-only show.

On MFC the camgirls have a reasonable expectation of being able to block out states/provinces/countries that their family and friends live in, since that's one of the features MFC agrees to provide them on signing up. This site strips their right to that. Now anyone can easily find recordings of them. And you know as well as I do 'public' shows pretty much include everything for most models. There's very few I can think of who have never done a cumshow in public on the odd occasion. Or for that matter BJ, oil, bath, lingerie, close-ups, even getting drunk.

There's many models who never agreed to that level of exposure to everyone in their lives.

Oh, and your analogy to recording broadcast TV doesn't hold true. It is illegal, just not pursued. Although if you publicize it too much I imagine the National Football League might come down on you for recording the 'yearly BIG playoff in football. Them guys are militant about their copyrights. Technically I'm not even allowed to say the word that means 'yearly BIG playoff in football' without their express written permission, it's trademarked and they've sued bars galore for doing so.

So is there nothing MFC can do about this? Did anyone repost this to MFC? Dunno if it would help but they should know. How are people so dumb on that site. I dont know why I am wasting my breath these are obv assholes with no lives possibly small penises and cant ever get a real woman.

I sent it off to customer support and got a 'Thanks' [one word only] response.
But I would tend to think if every model started writing them and asking them to do something it would carry a lot more clout.

Reasonable expectation? Maybe if they're naive to the ways of the Internet.

Also, it's not just THIS site (FG) that strips the region block from models, it's any content site that uses any sort of proxy.

It really is fighting an uphill battle. I really urge girls to pick their battles with this, and really decide if it's worth the headache, stress, and effort of combating the "piracy". Those who are hiding their camming career from their families and friends, and hoping to hide from future employers, I understand not wanting content out there, but it's also a BIG part of the job as far as risks go. Those who are doing this as a career until they retire? I'd suggest letting it be out there and not putting any mind to it is the best way to go.

My :twocents-02cents: , again.

Often the best way to combat this is to offer a similar service yourself.

Like record your public shows host them somewhere and sell them for a cheap price (whatever you deem cheap).

- You get little bit of money or lot if it all works.
- No issues with copyright
- Much easier to access than clicking on gazzilion ads (which is how most these sites earn money).
- Better quality

Basically you want to get them less traffic as they make money from ads. If its significant enough, the owners of that site will have to give up.

Bit of work required though at the start, but I am sure there is plenty of help on offer.

Another way to do this, there are a bunch hackers out there who dont like porn on the web  , get hold of them and they might take down the site for you

MFC though should be able to encrypt the stream and stop them from automatically recording the show.

I have no doubt that MFC's legal team will be investigating it, and weighing their options. It's one advantage of them holding the copyright on everyone's stream, as opposed to leaving it with the individual performer. They can sue the living daylights out of these assholes without compromising the personal information of their models.
Unfortunately, if they're successful, there's no guarantee that they'll share any settlement money they might get.

MFC actually owns the copyright on all the cam streams. The models might need permission to re-sell that content.

I'm sure they'd be happy to work for the people who actually produce the stuff they hate.

This would add an enormous load to their servers if they were encrypting 1000+ video feeds in real-time, vastly increasing their cost of doing business.
Depending on what kind of encryption they were using, legitimate customers might need to install additional software on their systems, which most won't want to do (as it's easier to clear a browser cache than it is to explain special software on a shared computer).
So now we've increased costs and lost customers. Uh-oh.
To top it off, the people recording these shows could easily do it through seemingly legitimate accounts, and reverse-engineer any software to their advantage.
I think the best solution for MFC might be to put in place bandwidth limitations on a per user and per IP address basis. Maybe it's not necessary for premium members, but there's no reason NOT to have such a system in place for guests and basics.
