Normally my weekends are pretty tame. Maybe go out and eat, do a little shopping, but spend most time at home watching tv/movies or playing some games and browsing the web.
I actually was out of the house a lot this weekend! But it made it go by even faster than usual, so that's a bummer. On Saturday, Jawbs and I took our friend to the OC Marketplace (read: rather large, outdoor, somewhat yuppy swap meet) and walked around all afternoon. We ate awful (meaning wonderful, but really bad for you) food, got samples of even more awful food, and got some random stuff. It was a beautiful day and it was nice to get some fresh air.
On the way home, as we fought through traffic, we decided to try out a spot in Sherman Oaks for some laser tag. I've never played it before in my life, so I was half excited and half nervous to go. Me being around people I don't know out in public is usually enough to send my nerves off the deep end, let alone playing in a dark room with laser guns with them. But alas, I had a GREAT time. It was such a workout! After walking in the sun most of the day, I could hardly catch my breath after the first round. My adrenaline rushed, my muscles were sore, but it was such a fun experience. I got dead-last place the first time, then as more people ended up in the following 2 rounds, I at least finished 3rd to last once I started to get the hang of it. I'd definitely do it again. Maybe soon.
Sunday was lazy day! I love football season. Sitting on the couch all comfy, eating lots of snacks and having some beer is usually the way it goes. It's a tad harder having an ulcer, as I know all the bad stuff I indulge on during the games is going to come back to bite me later, but I still enjoy it. I decided we were going to be fancy-pants this Sunday and made it wine and cheese football day. We even took shots of cheap wine according to this list:
1. When Miami scored
2. When there was a turnover in Miami's favor
3. When the commentators made a comment that sounded explicitly sexual
Even though it was over too fast, I had a fabulous weekend. Now it's time to buckle down again and reclaim #11 (at least!) on the Miss MFC list. I held on all the way til Sunday night. I bet it's going to feel like a long week.
