He probably put on the best show altogether that I have ever seen. He is a great entertainer, and he rocks! Totally worth the money I spent lol I mean who doesn't like Purple Rain (song, the movie was a bit cheesy)

I have a tiny list.
MC Chris (Along with MegaRan, Adam Warrock and MC Lars)
Da Yoopers (though they're probably not that well known outside of the Great Lakes area)
They Might Be Giants and Jonathan Coultan
Thursday I'm going to see I Fight Dragons and MC Lars (with Protomen and Sky Fox).

Most are nerdcore (TMBG being the exception), so not too well known, though Nintendo of America featured an I Fight Dragons song on the 3DS.

Rolling stones
Beastie boys
Damien Marley
The Black Keys
Carl Cox
Daft Punk

Altamont? Really? The West Coast debacle that was headlined by the Stones and had security run by Hells Angels?

I'm curious, do you have any good stories?

Me too!!! My Uncle was there but he will not talk about those days... I think he is too ashamed to admit he does not remember them (he used a lot of drugs).

 maybe....drugs played a big part in "a lot of people having too much time on their hands"...my friends and i were pretty much dead center in the crowd, and you could feel the ripples of tension bouncing off that empty stage and washing back through the rest of us.

from the little bit i could see of the people down close, it's actually to the hell's angels credit that they held their cool as long as they did....i was frustrated and bored and losing respect for the jagger by the minute, but the audience down close seemed flat out ANGRY....you could see skirmishes well before the opening chords of the sympathy for the devil....it's easy to say in hindsight that using them for security was a mistake....but they were pushed to their limit, imo

as long as i'm taking this journey down memory lane, i'm not sure if gimme shelter (which i only watched once, and thought was a nice try at documenting the event) really conveys what a little twerp jagger was when he saw that final build up to what happened (and everything about him indicated that he saw the whole thing, make no mistake)....sometimes "the show must not go on"....he had a chance to settle things down, not feed it with what i feel is a truly amazing song

if your uncle is ashamed, it could be just because he was there....it was not one of the highlights of my generation.

Jay-Z (MSG)
U2 (MSG)

These lists are so amazing! Some people I'm surprised they even have time to breathe or eat.

I've been to a couple of (slightly not good inner London) festivals and saw:

A$AP Rocky
Drake
Rihanna (She is just hot. Just hot. I think that's her main talent, though I am not one to speak)
Nicki Minaj (T'was like someone crapping in my eye, the others not so bad)

Saw in concert:

Bruno Mars (My friend was obsessed for some reason, but he is a great entertainer)
Labrynth
OFWGKTA (Lols!)
Volbeat
Hollywood Undead

and The Prodigy x2 who I justloveohmygosh.

Stood outside of Rage against the Machine and Chemical Brothers, awesome.

I was once in a room that contained Simon Gallup from the Cure, wished they were playing :)

My list is not very interesting.

About to add Bon Jovi to my list again. Although the first time I saw them ('85, I believe) was on the tour for their second album, 7800 Farhenheit, and they were opening for Ratt. So this will be the first time as headliners.

Wow, that's almost 30 years between shows. Say what you will about Bon Jovi, but anyone still kicking around and selling out arenas 30 years into thier career has to be doing something right.
