I am interested in becoming one but have had questions I can't find answers to. Well specific answers, they are usually quite vague and it's somewhat annoying.
My main questions are, being a straight male, what's exactly wanted? Who wants to see what? BESIDES anal play or deep throating anything. I know that's a huge thing but I'm not going to give up part of myself and do things that make me uncomfortable just for the sake of it could better my chances. I don't believe in doing that kind of shit for anything or anyone period.
I know this limits a lot but then again there's not much more to male cams than anal play and masturbation anyways so I've figured doing more than just jerking off but not anal play could still work. From what I've been told from friends and acquaintances who are models or strippers or just watch that I'd be good at it even being limited, it's the fact I want to do more than what's always been there and want to be more interactive.
With female models I've seen them draw and paint, play music, excersize, drive, sing, etc. Males I've pretty much only seen anal play and masturbation. So I know there has to be some sort of niche there and the only information I can't find pertaining to this stuff is what exactly people want to see from male models that's not about anal. I have no problem being open to demographics but again I'm not doing shit that makes me uncomfortable and they should be able to respect that as much as I'm trying to find other things I could do for them.

So again my questions are, being a straight male, what is wanted exactly, what would be attractive, what's different but interesting? What turns you off about them and what turns you on? What haven't you seen that you'd like to? Etc.

This probably isn't the best place to ask people what they want to see because your main fanbase will not be women, it will be gay men.

Like I've stated, I have no problem with who my fanbase is. My point is to broaden the fanbase and to attract a different kind of fanbase, so yes this is the right place to ask this.

I'll rephrase a little bit.
I am straight, not homophobic, whatever makes up my fanbase ok HOWEVER, I am not comfortable with stuff like anal play and whatnot. I know that limits a lot however I'm trying to find things I could still do for them that I am comfortable with. But it's not just gay males so I want to find out things that will attract both. Also I want to know what would attract more females to view male cams (not just my own but bring more of an interest to it in general) because all I've seen or heard of is guys just masturbate and play with their ass, self suck or deep throat, never really being too interactive, mostly just there to make money and it's just not entertaining.

I want to do more than just that and I want to do it for more than just a gay male demographic and bring in more female demographics as well because why the ef not? And in order to do so I'm asking mostly for female opinions, tips, etc but I am also asking for males perspectives as well, I'm just trying to get the point across that I'm not going to do the things that make me uncomfortable just to bring in more of a following that will be attracted to the stuff that makes me feel uncomfortable. I want to make this enjoyable and if I'm struggling to make it seem like I'm comfortable then what's the point exactly? You shouldn't make yourself uncomfortable and there are reasons why I am with that and I want people to respect that and I feel like they would.

I have nothing against stuff like anal play or anything, just from bad experiences it makes me uncomfortable. If you have a personality and it's not shitty than ok, gender and sexual preference have nothing to do with it. I'm putting stress onto me being straight so that people don't say stuff like "pay4gay is a thing," or "you won't make it," simply because I don't like anal and will actually give advice or hints or tips, etc. I know gay males that are turned off by anal and would be perfectly fine to just have a conversation with someone, there are other things that gay males or into other than anal ya know...
Like cosplaying/roleplaying (what kinds), playing games (what kinds), stuff like that, conversation topics (for example not everyone is into sports and don't like talking about it), anything else I'm missing or not thinking of.

It depends on where he cams, though.
Thor used to cam on Chaturbate and his fanbase was dominantly female.

There really is not an easy answer to this question, though.

My point was that the vast majority of webcam viewers are homosexual males. While some females watch they are few and far between. Some of us can give you advice but coming to a forum full of females and mostly straight dudes is a bit like going into a McDonald's and asking people what their favorite brand of tofu is.

OP, have you tried watching other male webcammers like Thor?

I wish you luck and hope you find the advice you want and need. :)

You might want to consider fetishes, from what I can tell from browsing Men's Clips4Sale stores and cams there seems to be a market for that.

- Feet/dirty socks
- Armpits
- Body hair
- Sweat
- workouts/muscle flexing
- tight clothes/underwear/bulge/jeans
- butthole worship/closeup/winking (penetration not required)

If you are comfortable with any of those its worth a shot  And I think on clips4sale you dont have to show your face in clips. Might be a better market for you or supplement your income.
If you can hold a conversation, be charming and funny or do something fun and creative (much like a lot of camgirls on MFC) you may do all right. I mean theres tons of dudes online trying to show their wankage off for free, so you gotta set yourself apart.

Random idea: blackjack or strip poker? People like gambling! And theres a gorgeous non-nude girl on MFC who does SUPER well running her room as a casino. I dont know how legal it is but its something to think about.

I understand, that's part of why I am asking. My friend from cam4 said I'd probably do good there if I can start off doing it right. Also it's not that I'm trying to stay away from gay males either, just know I'm straight. My gay best friend who had a crush on me was my PE locker buddy for a year, saw each other naked wasn't a problem, I've dressed in drag and danced on stage in a theater just for fun and to support lgbt, I got no problems doing stuff for them but there's just some things I can't bring myself to do cause of past experiences and if it wasn't for those experiences I'd honestly probably be poly (I'm aware I might have a fear holding me back but I need to deal with that on my own time and people need to respect that and I feel they would).

I know it's kind of difficult to answer but look at it more like me asking you directly what you would be interested in, what attracts you, what would you want to see, etc? As long as I can even get individual answers I'll still have some peoples insights and opinions to go off of and be able to create something that's more for them then it is for me. I'm just trying to go about this entirely different than most probably ever have.

Don't stress too much about justifying why you won't do certain things; we all have limits and nobody is judging you! Props to you for knowing what you will/won't do before starting.

Personally I don't watch men on cam because every time I have, it's just a screen full of peen.
What I find enticing in a camgirl is:
-an outgoing, energetic personality
-being cute or good-looking
-having lots of things to do or talk about
-creativity and innovation, doing something new I haven't seen before
-common interests

Basically a big, fun personality on a good-looking person who seems like they want to be there. I haven't looked much, but when I have, I've never encountered a camguy who drew me in.

I think watching a bunch of cams (of models on multiple sites and of all genders) to see what seems to be working, or not working, and to see what is boring vs exciting is a good place to start. If you want to stand out and be different, generating a bunch of your own ideas is probably better than having us suggest them...but taking inspiration from the models you visit is cool. Obviously most things have been done before but you can always put your own spin on them.

Good luck!

Ok, I was just clarifying. I understand that, wasn't saying differently, what I'm trying to get at is I'm wanting to find out what would attract more of those females, in between, and what else the males would want to see that's not what I'm uncomfortable with, like compromises. And I also don't want to think of it as the majority watching me are homosexuals but that I'm just being watched by people and it's their personalities I'm trying to attract and entertain and if that gets them off so be it, if it means to get me off than ok, but I'm not making myself uncomfortable and there are plenty of compromises. I'm trying to figure out what those compromises are/could be or consist of, as well as trying to attract more than just homosexuals so before even getting to the point of having to make compromises I'd already have things planned out or whatever (be less clueless and struggle to find ways to entertain and attract, etc).

And thank you btw. I don't know if I've seen Thor's (I may have), but I've watched few others, mostly couples. I was going to watch a few more but I got annoyed seeing almost every guy ignoring the chatroom and just jerking off and/or playing with their own ass. I feel like that would be annoying to not just straight males and females but gays are probably thinking "WHERE'S THE DIVERSITY?" Up and down can only get you so far before it gets totally old, I wanna be different and stand out, show I have more to my personality other than making people sure that I can actually masturbate successfully all by myself.
P.s. I can get very sarcastic/smart-assey so sorry if I offend or something, I REALLY don't mean it that way. I am actually quite envious of all of you, I admire what you all do and stand for.

I think the best way to get your research on this is to be a paying member on any site.... girls, guys, couples, whatever, but when you're NOT looking to masturbate or necessarily get aroused. I emphasize paying. Because it's easy to browse rooms and critique freely but really look into what makes you want to spend without necessarily getting tangible things back.

But to learn what people do that makes YOU want to give them something. Because lots of times that's the "stuff" that is penis/vagina neutral and what drives in the $$$ no matter who you are. Go into the room of someone who's top ranked and and makes your tokens disappear even when you weren't trying to get a boner. If you can understand it from that point of view that's half your battle. Everyone has their own parts or can buy new ones. But it's all the other stuff that is just as important. And unique to everyone.
There's all different niches but I think the basic qualities people need for camming are more universal than the equipment.

Dope. I'm part of a BDSM house so I'm sure there's a few fetishes I can think of lol, and I was a photographer's assistant in BDSM for a short while.

I can definitely hold conversations, I can be charming but my sarcasm and smart-assness kind of ruins that, but I try and make just about everything into a joke. I enjoy making people laugh and happy, I'm just weird  I was kind of know for that on stickam (of all places...bleck), held shows that lasted for days, usually smoking my bong dressed in jesus robes and a crown of thorns worked best while listening to post hardcore music and talking about spiritualism, just a cluster fuck of nothing that goes together but now with masturbation I guess... Who wouldn't want to see a masturbating stoned jesus talking about spiritualism but listening to music that'll make your ears bleed?

Good ideas, I just never learned how to play poker. I definitely want to do that though. Thank You :D

Trying my best not to stress, just a little nervous. Thank you.

That's part of my reason why I want to be a different guy, not another peen on screen, nobody wants that boring shit. That's almost exactly what I been thinking lately actually and have just started doing (looking at multiple cams from different sites and pulling inspiration, but asking these questions for preferences to me is also inspiration in a way). Thank you for the advice all of you so far by the way also, it's already helped some. :)
What would "draw" you into a males cam? Or do you just kind of click and see?

I've never actually heard it explained in that kind of a perspective really, it's an interesting concept. I've viewed cams like that but not thinking like that or at least not with that kind of intent. Thinking about it thought that makes sense and kind of connects the thoughts I been having about this that had some gaps in between. Thank you a lot for that perspective.

If you want me to be COMPLETELY honest, a lot of it still is superficial.
When people come across your cam you're just going to be a picture on the screen. What you look like is a big deal.
While Thor's personality did help him A LOT, what would get all those women in his room in the first place is what he looked like. There are a million dudes who all look pretty much exactly the same on that website, he stood out a lot in that respect because he didn't look like anyone else. THAT, imo, is what made him so successful among women.

You're already kind of answering your own question by the way. You already know what looks boring. Be talkative, be engaging, try to bond with your viewers, get them to like YOU as a person. There really aren't any secret tricks to it.

I think I look different than most of the guys on there honestly but that doesn't necessarily mean attractive towards others, just different.
I guess then a huge part of it is knowing I'm not in over my own head. I've figured there wasn't much of a difference and that it's all relatively the same anyways but there could still be some different details out there and it doesn't hurt to ask around and whatnot. I want to know what they want and I figured to try asking before getting exactly started.

Totally random question that's related-ish, what about impersonations and changing accents (to me it's similar to roleplaying kind of, in a way at least)? Probably over-thinking but I think that would be a little too odd for something like this?

Nothing is in and of itself "too odd". Approach show ideas the same way the girls do: think of a skill/craft/whatever that you have and try to work it into a show. Do a cooking show with tips for flashes, teach people how to assemble shit from ikea, whatever works. People are there for your personality as much as sex. I would watch any girl on this thread scrub her bathtub in a tshirt, if that's what she was doing.

Amen to that, and I get what you're saying.

I wouldn't use "effingbored" as a screen name on a cam site. Claiming to be bored is not any kind of cool. It suggests you're boring and depressing, and it's certainly not attractive. I wouldn't use it as a member name anywhere myself, and I wouldn't visit a female model with that kind of name.

I'm can't imagine why you're using it here.

It was quick and like I said I'm interested, it's not a for sure thing so obviously I'm not gonna actually use this name, never said I was going to. Why you would assume that I don't know. And a name doesn't mean that much, maybe to some apparently but you're the only one who's cared so must not be that big of a thing. But again obviously I'm not going to actually use a name like this. I'm not you either and quite frankly I don't care what you would or wouldn't use especially if you're going to be disrespectful right away. Thanks anyways.

I think he plays the guitar. That kind of thing usually goes over pretty well when girls on MFC do it.

Hey there!

I'm sure you've seen all of these other threads about male cam models already (you can always search for a topic before posting to see if your question has been answered already), but I thought I would put them here just in case and for any future people with questions about camming as a man! There might be a lot you know already or some things irrelevant to you in these, but I've found sometimes there are amazing bits of info in all kinds of threads so when you're really trying to dig in and do research it helps to comb through all the related threads and see all of the responses. Maybe something here will help you out!

Except I didn't complain and that wasn't even advice, they were disrespectful and I didn't appreciate it even if they were trying to give advice. Also I asked for advice that has nothing to do with names anyways.

Please, don't bring your disrespect into this. And please don't talk like you know me and how I "complain." I highly dislike judgmental people and i don't hide that, I'm straight forward, taking it any other way is on you so don't blame it on me either. Just saying, it's possible to give advice without being a dick about it.

You made a thread asking for advice, and then complain when you get some good advice about names.

You do understand names are one of the things that get people in your room? Most of the models here use their cam names, and it seemed likely you were doing the same thing. The advice you are throwing the childish tantrum over looks sensible to me, and well intentioned.

It's not advice though, they assumed something they shouldn't as well as you are. Not even close to a tantrum, I just don't appreciate being disrespected by random people so just stop. I asked for advice so if you could either give some and stop being a prick or just fuck off.

My advice to you is to consider not telling random people to fuck off, you are in the service industry now. Unless you want to try pulling in people seeking to be dominated, because some people like that kind of thing.
