I think it's because so much stuff happens online, and so many people believe they can meet anyone on any site and it'll be a hookup.

While there's a small fraction due to that, it's mostly because Streamate has shady-ass affiliates who advertise us as girls ready to date/fuck people. Some even have bots chatting with people to entice them into our rooms, claiming that we'll fuck them for $xxx or we're sooooo lonely and totally about to date/fuck strangers from who even knows where.

Wow, that sucks... I was thinking more of a general aspect since life has become so much more digital. For example, I've been on a lot of vanilla forums for years, and over the past year or two many of them have become nothing more than meat markets where members are always trying to hook up with one another. Or, if not that, they're always commenting on how they want to do someone. I get it in some ways. But, just get tired of it being in almost every aspect now.

I really think its the marketing from affiliates, to be honest. Cause I dont see people approaching straight up that way in the 2 other place I been broadcasting

Many girls push the prices down. And sometimes you can not compete. If they do squirt show for 555 tokens and your naked time is 1000 tokens.. I can see in the last 2 years on chaturbate, that these girls made a lot of money... Now they get naked and barely anyone vibrates their pussy... :D While 1200 men watching and pleasuring them they end up making max 200 dollars... More and more bad days. And if you want to make 500 dollars a day you have to work A LOT. Like 10 hours period, or your generous high tippers come and make you happy. In the last one year I was very very lazy.. But all I can say is that now members either somehow adore and love you, or they want the moon and stars for their 1000 tokens tip. So yes, I sleep in corsets, go to the gym 5 times a day and I already had 2 boob job... Because without my body I wouldn't sell. I exclusively sell myself for guys who can. My flashes and privates are expensive. I am not complaining but now it's harder work, yes... I also had to make onlyfans, start making clips and all that stuff.

I forgot to add, I am at a point where I think about being a sugar baby and quiting webcamming, not fully, but only working a few times a week. As I said I am not going to put my prices down.. And when you can easily get 500-800 dollars with a sugar meeting why webcam hours and spend your whole life in front of a computer. The life I wish to live I guess only top 10 mfc girls make that much... :)

Consuming has changed deeply. We will have to learn how millennial prospects behave. That’s mainly on the websites, not the models. I’m posting here, from a mobile, on the go, while doing another task (not driving) simultaneously, and that’s without even making a purchase decision.

I never wanted to change my body to make more $. That is a personal choice. I'm fine with myself and I have to live with my body for the rest of my life and dont want to alter it for incomes reason, Unless if its working out and being healthy. Each our choices with priority. I know it benefits many, but I do think I have much more to offer than just the physical part, and even on this aspect, I know many would be disappointed if I did too, first cause no body shapes pleases all, and I always had integrity and self confidence no matter how I look like and if its in trend or not. I love of my followers love me cause im natural and confident, comfortable with myself and for who I actually am, and Im happy of what I make with that. These are the people that actually would private me for the person I am, and like to see how sensual and in tune I am with myself. If I was making more cause my looks, I would have different members visiting me, And they would most likely be more superficial relationships and shorter terms than what I have built throughout the years. I also decided that no matter the trend, I dont show or do anything in free, or for tips in free. I like the erotic part to be an intimate part, again, even if I might make less at the end of the day, but its in my zone of comfort and happiness and managed to do quite well doing so, But yes, it has been a lot more hours online etc to match what I could make back in 2015. I would say it dropped by 2/3 to a 1/2 what I used to make for the amount of hours online. Moral of the story, we all have to do what seems right for us in our long term goals and balance with personal life and happiness. And we do need to adapt and make decisions that makes sense to us while time and trends and everything is changing around. But keep being yourself and dont follow all trend, because this way, you wont be YOU and unique, different, anymore. So keep this in mind :) There are other ways to attract people to us, underneath the physical features, there is who we are, and people that truly connect with us, beyond the body, the sexual parts, these are the ones that really connect, stick and remain, for a very very long time, and it is much more satisfying and gratifying

Uhmm. Yes, I totally understand!! But I do it for me not for the members. I always wanted to be a human doll. Growing up very poor it was my dream.. now it is reality: :) I am grateful my active cam years allow me to pay for all these procedures. :)

If you are happy and makes your life better and you happier, means you only did the right thing :)

You bring up so many good points about SM as well as other camsites.

1. Interactive Toys. I don't personally use them, but on SM they work. It's a private oriented site that doesn't tend to generate as many tips, and I think interactive toys help with this quite a lot. On free/token sites, they have definitely hindered a lot of the creativity that used to be around. The lush is one of the biggest complains I see around from guys. On the flip side, they're popular for a reason.

2. SM's free 30 seconds is terrible. I have heard that SM has implemented some sort of limit on the number of times that someone can do this per day before they can't access the site for the rest of the day, but honestly that free 30 second thing shouldn't be around at all. Seasoned models know better and won't start a show until after the first 30 seconds is up, and it also opens a whole lot of abuse of the system targeting newer models. It's terrible for everyone who has every intention of paying and only benefits members looking for something for free.

3. I have never heard about a member going private without realizing that they'd intentionally tried to enter a private, but there has been a huge glitch for quite some time where members get booted from private after a very short amount of time. Many will try to go private over and over, some will even tip larger amounts so I don't think they're lying about getting booted from private. Some end up spending over $50 (if not uch more) on attempts at trying to go private, and they never even get a show. It's terrible and I don't know why SM won't make fixing this a priority.

4. I completely agree about the limits...to an extent. The amount of time someone can lurk in free chat is far too short, and this is coming from someone who does a lot of findom if that says anything. I want new members to be able to get a good vibe for my room, but if they hit a 20 min patch where it's slow and nothing interesting is going on, that's not enough time for them to see what I'm about. The spending limit is fair for new accounts, and I get that SM needs to be able to protect themselves as best as possible from charge backs, but considering how much more expensive SM is for the member than other sites, the spending limit has a huge impact on what a new member can experience from a model.

5. Members who come to SM thinking that it's a dating or escorting site is very much a new thing, at least in the past 4-5 months or so. I used to very very rarely get someone who was expecting to meet-up (not counting the wishful thinking type), but there were some white labels of SM that were advertised on sites that focus on casual encounters and hook-ups and now this kind of traffic is constant. So many new members get really angry about the fact that they're expected to spend money for a virtual show, many expect that they should be able to meet-up for free.

1. Im the same about toys, I dont use them at all, and work only in premium, where the toy only works in pvt. I do see how a model can make extra money with. It is a personal choice of mine, at the moment, to not use it yet, Maybe I will some day. But to me, so far, I find that it is more intimate, personal and not only gadget sex oriented by avoiding it at the moment. I prefer making less, yet maybe i'm actually making more, on a long run, by building a closer intimacy and relationship than going with the tech sex part. We shall see over time. We also all have different way to be and interact with members. While many tools are there to increase our private potential etc. its to each of us to make decisions to what fits us best with the people we meet and the way we like camming, If we do it right, in our ways, I think we make better income no matter what, with or without the toys, VR and all the rest that is offer to us.

2. no matter what it is, anywhere else, the platform job is to make sure the lag is as short as possible, and models are paid for every second of their times, especially where the % is so low that models makes so little a min. Free time should belong only in free/public chat. As soon as someone clic, models should be paid, in my opinion.

3. I know. This is all about the glitches and the lag and all that stuff. I did have pvt where the guy ran all his daily limit and I actually think he was never there in the show? It just makes me feel wrong about the whole thing, for my time and his money.

4. Each platforms have their ways to make sure to protect themselves against chargeback. Nowhere else than on SM I seen a limit where I cannot use my skills and friendly self, my ways to make sure the person have a good time to stay longer and keep coming back, Only on SM the person is forced out of pvt and cant stay longer. To me, it makes it much harder to build a great first pvt impression and bonds. Cuts the flow and the moment for some $ issues, which is the last thing someone wants when they had a tough day, need fun, and finally enjoying me, boom, get out of there, come back another time? grrrrrrrrrr BAD, Just bad.

5.Yes its recent, and do thinks its due to marketing from affiliates. I dislike very much false advertising and being presented as an escort or a date when its not what I do.

I have a disclosure to make, I can't be objective about Streamate, because too many friends of mine work there (staff, not models). I believe that the missing component of many big websites at the moment, is sharing data analysis in a friendly way, that a model can make sound decisions from. For example, age ranges of paying members in a Premium website in comparison to ones in a Freemium. If the visitor I wish to convert to a member has the customer avatar of a man in his 40's like myself, or a border-line millennial, I'd like to know how to pitch them.
There's a big shift coming in, because people who were born in the 90's go into their 30's soon. They are different consumers, with more time on a mobile than a desktop, and with many more distractions to deal with. We have a stage in which both consumers and models would like to make most of their time online in a specific page or app, because they have to distribute between more online activities than just browsing or consuming. Think about it, I landed my first jobs by walking into a place and introducing myself, while now we use e-mails. You constantly compete with other data, whether as an individual, a company, a model or a member.

I was excluded by most adult websites as an inexperienced ex-payment rep, what they don't know however, is that I'm studying data analysis, pay per click, Google Analytics and hotjar for vanilla purposes ,and that I always study our markets. The name of the game is not just traffic, it's also conversion, and using big data to amplify it, for members and models.
I did request more infos, years ago, and many times. Trying to make platform understand that while they run a business, we try to run ours too, and the more we know, the better we can do, so the more they will make too. But they seem very protective (to keep some kind of control?) on that. Its been unsuccessful and we remain just sub status workers that can, at best, try to figure things out ourselves, and hope for the best. Some sites slowly are sharing more, yet it is still in a very shy manner.

I have a simple and effective idea on how to gather the data, and present it in a friendly way that doesn't even mention specific brands. All I need is a convo with you and Jay from Ynot, and about 8 minutes of your time:)

Many people claim the industry is dying. Same with the stripping industry, but I think it’s only evolving and people need to evolve and adapt too in order to keep making money.

One thing that will NEVER go away is people seeking for human connection. That can never be replaced by pre -recorded streams or free porn or A.i ... sure the economy and how much disposable income people average might affect how much they will use a service, but it’s cyclical. It doesn’t actually die. People are more lonely than ever and after 10 years (I know some people have a lot more experience than me and i don’t claim to know it all) I have realised over the years that ultimately, people are trying to fill a void in their life and even if they believe they are paying for a fantasy/sexual service, what they really want is a bit of warmth and connection. If you can pull that off and connect on a deeper level with peopleI think you can always succeed. Wherever you work.

I absolutely agree. When you connect with people and they feel seen, you are more respected and earn more in any career. You earn bonuses, your bosses consider you for raises and promotions, your job is generally more enjoyable. You become a person and not just a cog in the wheel, and that is something special people are seeing less and less of. I am extrememly new to caming, but have already noticed the most success with forming connections with people. I commit the usernames of people making active conversation to memory, I make them smile, I ask them about something they mentioned in the last chat/show. I get a handful of tips for being sexual and flashing the titties, but most of them come from interacting with members.

I am very new to this industry only been camming for a year so far but its funny to see people saying its dying when i feel its the opposite with technology advancing every day most things are done online now even retail is dying as most people shop online now i think more girls are doing it now me included but hopefully the number of tipping members is increasing as well. And its so true about building emotional connections with people that goes for anything in life even in retail i always did better when i took the time to really get to know customers

A very long time ago, definitely more than fifteen years ago, I subscribed to a cam site that was in a house in Florida full of cameras and hot women. It wasn't officially a "jerk off" site but you could chat dirty talk with them and occasionally you might see some hot stuff, especially on the weekends. It was so innocent compared to what I watch now.

Technology is a double edge sword because with AI people can get a great stream and not even know the person on the other side is not human. In Asia there’s even this popular program that guys use and they have this anime girlfriend they take on dates, give compliments to, buy her gifts... and they actually claim they are really in love and that it’s better cause at least she won’t dump you. On the other hand technology has also been isolating people more than ever but the way it can help us is to put us in touch with people anywhere in the world and get us paid safely. It’ll take years before we get replaced by AI but we already need to start focusing on what we will keep offering, when this all takes place.

Hmmm, where have I heard something like that before?

Oh yeah!

The one about the AI girlfriend is a progression from the digital pet thing years ago, more or less could see that coming. But, I agree that tech is a double edged sword when it comes to interpersonal communication.
