Seeing shooting stars from my suburban area (where there are street lights and lights from neighboring houses

) last summer was cool, but seeing them from outside an Airbnb in Merritt Island, Florida (much darker sky there) was way better. I really wish I was back in a glamping tent at Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park for this event, because that's a certified dark sky park...and the starry sky there is out of this world. See what I did there?
I don't know if there are any New Yorkers here, but I found out last summer that a good dark sky in New York is all the way out on Montauk, Long Island...right outside of the Montauk Point lighthouse. I was able to look up and see The Milky Way!
