I've been seeing so many articles about this topic. Questioning the future of cam girls and OF girls. Does anyone here think that our jobs would be threatened? I know AI is extremely advanced and that eventually, they can do ANYTHING with an AI girl, but would that really make all of us lose our jobs?

Any input from the community would be nice!

It would take a certain demographic, like boys who don't want real women. That concept is scary as hell, but if it does affect our job to that bad of a degree where their preference exceeds human connection it certainly isn't happening in our lifetime or at least during our career unless we decide to do this for another 20 years.

There's a cute clip called A Date in 2025 on Youtube. It's well worth the watch and shows that no amount of technology will fulfill the need from another person. Ever. Even though we do this virtually, we are still live and human obviously.

lol wuts up with op's pfp?

Projektmelody hasn't gobbled up every single tipper on CB, just the incels none of us want to deal with in the first place. She can have it for all I care. *shrug*
im 100% of whatever they do. hentai is such a big market, and i think its great there is another option for people to do sexwork without putting all of themselves out there.

also inspiring/collabing with some fucking rad edm

My point is I'm happy those people are her fans and not mine. ;)

i get your point that her fans can be toxic incels, but so can ours. idk i see the Vtuber adult content as a new niche market in sexwork/camming.

its was pretty common for strippers to rag on cammodels for having basement-dwellers when they got the wealthy types in like 2000's.

i think AI girl is different from PM or anime streamers. ai girl is like smarterchild? a chat bot.

I understand the term "incel" automatically invokes the idea of some fat guy slobbering cheetos and wiping the dust on their pants, but the core of incel culture is no real woman is good enough for them so focus on what's not real and customizable to their tastes. I watched Melody change her program through the years to accomidate ideas from the culture, I said what I said because I don't understand that level of desire for something that doesn't actually exist. She does and more power to her.

My original comment was to say there is space for it and it's successful but so are other avenues. If this thread is going to be me explaining a simple comment in great detail I'll just go ahead and bow out. It's not that serious and I don't have the mindset at the moment.

For sure there is and always has been a space for non-human images in the adult content space. And while I do think the upcoming AI might be a step beyond what we've been used to with vTubers and hentai, I don't think overall it's going to push anyone out of their job as a cam model or content poster. There is a niche of viewers who seek out adult content that will settle for non-human interaction.

I'd venture to say that AI like ChatGPT may already be enhancing/helping current creators' jobs, even.

Exactly. That's why I said yeah Melody is a huge hit, but her success hasn't impeded on anyone else's, to the point people have tried to copy her. You don't have to dim someone else's candle to shine.

I think ya'll have already touched a lot on what I personally believe here, which in a nutshell is 1) not really but 2) there will probably still be a kind of frightening amount of people who are taken in by this kind of thing. The statistics are showing that as women have become more financially and emotionally independent many have raised our standards for who we date or have become uninterested in dating altogether, which is probably a factor in this epidemic of like, male loneliness and incel culture. I think as that gets worse there will be more men who decide they want nothing to do with real women altogether, but I don't think it'll make that significant of a dent in what we do. As discussed above, there are already savvy sex workers who have created a brand to attract them and we're still doing alright.

People are drawn to what we do because of the supposed "realness" of it, regardless of how much of what we do is performed. I just don't see a world where anything can replace a real-time human connection for most people, but I do think the number of men (and just people in general) who are desperately lonely is going to continue to rise and a side effect of that will always be some of them transforming that loneliness into malice, anger or fear until they reject the desire for connection altogether, or become so separated from reality that they no longer see the people in it as desirable at all.

I've been using that to write my ads and announcements as all I have to do is type in what I need in the ad and chatgpt makes a lovely announcement without me having to think about how to word it. Copy, paste, schedule, post, done. 👌🙌

Well put it another way since we bring up hentai.
There is loads of cartoon porn online since the dawn of the Internet and that didn't affect regular porn (the porn tubes destroyed that main revenue).
So I'm saying that yeah unless u r planning on still webcaming in 20 years time I wouldn't be worrying.

Some Redditors have picked up on the ChatGPT thing, though none seem to be too terribly fussed about it in general.

Well honestly, it kinda is my words, as I told it what to write, and it wrote exactly what I wanted to say, except I didn't have to spend 2 hours trying to word 20 different ads, searching for cute emoji and putting it all together so it makes sense 😁 I think as long as we use it in such way, there's no harm, just makes our life easier. I adore it and will never go back to struggling to write a nice advertisement! 🤩

imo even the content that sells really well as AI is human made - has a human writing scripts, editing, posting, advertising. So even if you can replace all the footage, pics, livestreams with a realistic computer made image you still need a human doing all the work behind the scenes, including generating those images. I also think people use AI for pretty much any algorythm these days, and real, complex artificial intelligence is still in development.

I am strongly driving on being the opposite of AI - I make unedited, raw, real content. I have to say, It looks terrible compared to the gorgeous content most of the models here (and in general ) put out, but it works for me, aka it sells enough to keep me going.

I dont wear make up, I rarely show up in lingerie, my set up is not pretty.. Its all very.. human! but it seems to work. And .. Its very low effort, so whats not to like.

Yas!! I am the exact same way. All of my content looks like The Blair Witch Project was involved. 🤣

Anyone can run neural networks locally. Including image generation, and text prediction.
It just requires the right hardware, time, and learning.
And it doesn't even have to be your own hardware, it can be cloud.
Services are just offering this in trade.

If a model wanted, they could use kohya_ss to train a LoRA on top of a realistic model like Realistic Vision V6.0 B1.
And then, use with a stable diffusion, like automatic1111, to generate images of themselves.

All the photos, video, text a model creates, could have long term value. Including the un-altered original content.
A model may be able to use those resources now, or in the future, to create future content. Including augmented content.
I wouldn't be surprised if some adult sites start offering neural network based services in the future.

Wow! Thanks for all the replies. I stopped camming 2 years ago to have my baby and now am a single mom. Id really like to get back into it and want to do it for the long haul this time (hopefully more than 20 years), and all of the INTENSE posts on youtube and reddit about AI obliterating cam models/ OF girls gave me a huge scare. Ive gotta be able to stay at home to raise my kiddo now.

Do you have a link to any of those posts? I'm interested how "intense" they got, might give us a good laugh at just how tin foil hat people got in them.

I have seen a rise in the "How to run an AI onlyfans agancy" poping up, funnily enough by the same people that were selling the courses on "how to start an onlyfans agancy"... BTW guys, if someone is selling you a course on how to make $ it means theres more $ in selling the course than there is in the method they are selling so by the time these courses come out they have already been bled dry.

The fact that more and more of it is coming up on youtube makes me think that the financial side of running the AI stuff is on a decline.

If someone wanted to try cam with Stable Diffusion, StreamDiffusion looks promising.
But it would probably require a PC, and a high end graphics card. Like a 3090, or 4090.

Stable deffusion isnt too hard to run, the biggest issue you run into is VRAM. it's the main issue you run into. I know some people that have ran it on a 6gb 1060. I was running it on a 8gb 2060. But as you want larger and larger images you need more and more Vram. I think the newest update to SD does video too now, havnt played about with that yet so no idea how intensive it is.

I just installed StreamDiffusion, and tried running a video through it. To see what it might look like doing real time capture on a webcam. On a 4080, 12GB, I was getting a 512x512 image. With an average of 8-12 FPS. I hear it's more 91 FPS on a 4090. If that's the case, it probably means you could get a more useable fps out of it, maybe even at a higher image size, and or quality.

Trying StreamDiffusion,
512x512 is kind of small for camming.
it seems to work best with a fixed shot, without cropping.
And it would probably require planning, setting up a new prompt for every shot.
The image quality wasn't as good as standard stable diffusion, but it's trying to do a 20 frame a second. so it's probably not spending that much time on each image.

I completely mis read the original post and read it as stable diffusion 😂

Real time capture is cool though, can proberly pick up a cheap eth mining rig these days and split the load over a bunch of cards and get a better frame rate (if the software allows for it). Personally when you want something usable (outside of thumbnail sized pictures) I think rigs of cards is going to be the way to go so it wouldnt supprise me if most of the open source programs have multi gpu support.

LOL I just finished watching this video.

`

It's about AI imagery, not AI chatbots, but I think her points cross over, especially near the end of the video, when she talks about how she's not all that worried about AI killing creative work. Yes, AI has grown more sophisticated in its presentation, but its function is still limited. It's still a machine built on information aggregation, pattern recognition, and response to prompts. I don't really follow the chat side of things, but if it's anything like the image generation side of things, it's gotta be mostly wonky. So, now it's being applied to work that creative people don't want to do -- the tedious unpaid bullshit work -- and I don't know if it's proven to be particularly effective at even that. Even the stuff it's supposedly good at, like image upscaling, leaves me completely unimpressed. Like, wow, a 4k upscale that definitely has more pixel density than the 720p source, but somehow now looks like an eldritch horror? Thanks for the effort, AI!
