The thing about porn is that it's always been a form of early-adoption for technological advances. Artists tend to find applications for it first, but pornographers are never far behind, and where artists tinker, pornographers work out the kinks (pun totally intended) and make a thing viable. Then comes everyone else. In fact, porn's success on various forms of media have ultimately contributed to the success of that media itself. Live streaming is a good fit for other stuff, but ladies and gentlemen have been getting naked for money live on webcams since before live video streaming was really a thing.

So, hey, take a bow cam models. You're part of the bleeding edge of tech development.

Zippy ain't lying. Porn is always finding new ways to pop up. There were the drawings and flip books passed around before movies and it wasn't long after the first film was recorded that the first pornographic porn was produced as well. From wiki:

Production of erotic films commenced almost immediately after the invention of the motion picture. Two of the earliest pioneers were Frenchmen Eugène Pirou and Albert Kirchner. Kirchner (under the name "Léar") directed the earliest surviving erotic film for Pirou. The 7-minute 1896 film Le Coucher de la Mariee had Louise Willy performing a bathroom striptease.[4] Other French filmmakers also considered that profits could be made from this type of risqué films, showing women disrobing.

This is keeping in mind that the patent for the Kinetiscope, the first motion-picture camera wasn't issued until 1893. If you look at the history of technological advances like this there is an almost predictable cycle. 1. Technology is created. 2. A select few find it and use it as it was intended or with a creative twist. 3. Porn 4. Everyone else catches up.

Just look at online chat. In the 1980s nearly every major local phone company and major long distance carrier was involved in online chat services. What started as a quick way for businesses and the military to communicate was quickly jumped on by the shakily legal phone sex operators as an alternative. It wasn't really until the late 1990s and 2000s that most of the world was signed into AOL and ICQ and their ilk. Quite a lot of what we accept as every day technology has been and may still be being used for porn.

All that said, I see this fad turning into an evolved version of youtube or...a far worse option is that it will turn into the newest form of online dating.

I don't remember much from mediacomm 101 (large lecture class) but the one thing I remember is the proffessor saying that sex/porn is the first driving force around technological advances. Cell phones, tvs, computers, faster internet, vcrs, cameras, all evolve faster than other forms of technology. And then it spreads out.

If studies proved the best sex of your life would be had on mars due to some foreign element, we'd be setting up vacation homes already:woot: haha maybe.

It makes sense, like i think refrigerators should be completely redone by now but mine looks the same as the one i had as a kid... probably because I cant have sex in it. I don't think...:bored:

First and last time I've seen this website, it was some disgusting thread on /b/ with people linking to some young girls dancing.

Isn't that pretty much what people on /b/ are looking for anyway? That part of 4chan existed to promote kiddie porn and trolling.

Actually, there's been a scientific study being undertaken for a few years now designed to determine whether things like geography, climate, air pressure, thermostatic environment etc. can have an effect on the female orgasm (apparently they do). The studies aren't yet complete, but basically, scientists have been able to pinpoint what they're dubbing the "planetary G-spot", the specific location on Earth where all these elements converge to create the perfect sweet spot, where all these different factors allow for the "perfect" orgasm. They haven't gone public with these results yet because I asked them not to, but seeing as we're all friends here, I guess I don't mind revealing the whereabouts of this location; it just happens to be along the northern wall of my bedroom, coincidentally in the exact spot where my bed resides. So... you know, just putting that out there...

Are you yourself trolling? 4chan has been tackling "kiddie porn" better than any other website for the past five years at least.

Yeah, what was I thinking? Everybody knows that 4chan and the b-tards were bastions of decency. *eyeroll*

Grrr I hate giving poo ratings to people.

Chelle is right. You are wrong.

Not everyone on 4chan is amazing. But they aren't all btards by any means.

4chan is where anon organizes most things. They take down kiddie porn sites for fun. Didn't they take down that site where you could post nudes of girls and people would help you track them down? What was that called?! Maybe we shouldn't say what it was called! They track down animal abusers. They speak out against social issues. They also do a lot to protest and bring attention to Scientology's major fundamental issues. That's just one thing I'm mega-interested in so it stands out huge for me.

And @SexySteph I don't expect that it will affect camsites so so much. Though, when those girls were talking about things they do, it really did remind me of camgirls. I wonder if they realize the similarities they share with camgirls. :p

Also, these sites I suppose are for kids. It's not age restricted so there is a flood of teenage members. I believe the sites make money purely on advertisements, too. I can't imagine teenage kids entering a credit card in order to tip the streamers. Can you imagine how frustrating that would be for adult men like the audience we have on MFC? Teenage kids are the reason why Twitch is so fucking impossible to hang out on as a member. Fuck teenage kids. I'd rather talk to perverted old men. :shame:

Actually, people buy "likes" for a couple of dollars, and the streamers get a cut of that, just like on MFC.

A site like this might be a good way for some young people to get their feet wet chatting on cam before they decide to make the jump to a site like MFC. For most models, their problem is not being hot, but rather interpersonal skills, and there's not much difference between the two types of sites in that regard.

If you just started using the Internet yesterday, 4chan might seem like a good thing.

But for years, before it started trying to clean up its act because of enormous bad publicity, 4chan and specifically /b/ was the epicenter of the ugliest stuff on the internet: brutal trolling, malicious hacking and misogynistic behavior of every sort.

Even in the last couple of years, 4chan was the place where the stolen naked photos of celebrities first showed up and where GamerGate, an anti-women campaign if ever there was one, got started. And while Anonymous does do some great things, like Project Chanology, hackers connected to 4chan are also just as likely to do something malicious, like hack Snapchat and steal people's private photos. (Wait, don't a lot of camgirls use Snapchat?)

While some b-tards might now be organizing raids on child porn and revenge porn sites, it's also the same board that was notorious for revenge porn and kiddie porn arrests for a long time. This is the place where the meme 'tits or gtfo' got started when young girls would show up on /b/ and the users would try to browbeat them into showing their breasts.

It's ridiculous to pretend that, just because 4chan is finally making some effort to clean up it's act, it should be considered a good place. It started out as the internet's asshole and stayed that way a long time.

Now, OP, sorry for hijacking your thread. That's the last I've got to say on this.

The idea of combining teenagers, live webcam & tipping just seems like a bad idea to me. I'm sure the majority of it is totally innocent but I feel like this could very easily go south like someone mentioned with creepy pervs directing each other to girls dancing and whatever.

I wonder how many teenagers have access to credit cards and could/would buy likes for each other? I genuinely wonder, I know a lot of my friends (especially the younger ones) are into YouTube makeup gurus and stuff so maybe they would.

Idk, I can see why this would be fun for YouTube kids and their fans, I just think I'm a cynical old lady and my immediate reaction was to worry about how it might turn ugly.

I agree with this. There's way too high of a chance for hazing and bullying with it being a live site. It's seems like the kind of thing that needs to be 18+, and perhaps 13+ with a parent's consent. There's something called the Child Online Privacy Protection Act, and I am sure allowing kids under 13 to log in easily in would cause major legal issues.

That said, a site like this sounds amazing, especially for people who are popular on other sites. Being able to interact with fans is truly essential for someone who wants to thrive at being an internet personality.

I didn't say /b/ were angels, they are extremely bad, but I was referring to the moderation team. Any person trying to post kiddie porn is permanned and reported to the FBI. And this has been the policy for years.
Also referring to Gamergate as an anti-women campaign only shows your bias on the subject.
